But people don’t like that the Jedi are seen as the flawed. Apparently Disney hates them and that upset fans that a group that used child indoctrination is being judged. I’m with you but people just wanna be mad.
I agree with you. I think the council hid a lot more then they let on and are more corrupt in the name of peace then we think. I mean in this episode there is a Jedi killer on the loose with a potential dark Jedi cell leading them and they don't even tell the council
My interpretation is that the dark side master is just not a sith So it's be kinda like saying "The guy who attacked us must have been a prussian general" "Impossible, prussia has been gone for centuries" But there had been a german general a few years back, they're similar but not the same thing
Qui-gon only concludes its a sith because the jedi have not fought any darkside force users for a long time. If they had fought darkside force users he wouldn’t call maul a sith. And ki-adi-mundi knowing about this kinda makes the jedi just look stupid, to a degree that the story no longer works
@@AssassinGTM The point is revealing that the jedi knew about the sith makes their aversion to saying the sith have returned make no sense. And also makes the “at last we will reveal ourselves” line make no sense if they already revealed themselves. Palpatines whole threat is that he is the first sith master encountered in generations.
Either Darth Gimp turns out to be another Force user unrelated to the Sith, or the entire Jedi taskforce disappears without a trace leaving the mystery unsolved for a hundred years.
I believe most of this squad is slayn in the initial battle that will open episode 5 but the jedi with a name manage to escape and then over the remaining episodes get hunted down by the Sith we saw or even better his master to keep it all under the wraps and the jedi council in a bit to not appear weak and to preserve their power in the republic sweep the whole thing under the carpets of history … still we should at least get a glimpse at Yoda in this show still just as an Easter egg and it just makes sense he is very old and certainly already in a high position in the order at this point
Everyone seemed to give it a chance the first week even though the writing was atrocious, but why waste anymore time when ep3 and 4 just start ignoring the established lore
Before yall rush to type, “we’re reaching” in the comments, literally either watch the video or search ip the other time he rushes to speak on the council, this man’s done this shit b4. Doesn’t make him a full on bad guy but just adds to the complexities of the jedi orders broken means to a greater good end
I have always assumed that prolonged use and exposure to thr force and the enhancements channeling it grants to the body, by nature, grants a mildly prolonged lifespan. This is a trait we see across fiction with many magic systems, that the users of that magic live longer than normal. It fits perfectly well for the force as well. I'm not sure how much evidence we have for this though, since obviously most force users we see die of anything but old age. Though in addition it is also presumably true that thr jedi, being in the center of Coruscant also have access to the absolute best medical technology, which would also help make them live longer than average.
Maybe Mundi just rejected or was extremely surprised with Qui Gon encounter with maul being Sith as he most likely knows similar reports of well trained Jedi assassins in past ,but never really though of e’m as being associated with Sith arts and goals.Just look at exceptional Jedi killers like jango Fett , stray Jedis and notable bounty hunters like Cad bane, Aura Sing as non of em were Sith Lords or even yielded the force .But just exceptionally well at their jobs.
I think the simplest solution is to draw a line of distinction between sith and dark Jedi or dark side force users. The Jedi are probably aware the are always gonna be dark side force users out about that they can't control just cos the universe is so big. I like to think they were aware they had a dark sider on their hands l, but not perse a sith, allowing the continuity of the lore to prevail.
Qui gon: "I believe what we encounter was a sith lord..." Ki adi mundi: "THATS CRAZY! the sith have been extinct for a millennium! Gosh, I sure as hell never a sith before in my life... no siree.... WTF you're talking about, dude?" Qui gon: 😕 Yoda: 😕
We're talking about a really weak fighter with no red lightsaber and no connection to a Sith at all. Nobody knows who the coach is. It alone is not an indication of a Sith presence. Until you know how the show ends, any outcry is pointless. I think the twist is that Osha, who was trained by Sol, is blamed for this.
One of two reasons in my opinion: 1. At the end of acolyte, we will see that this isnt a sith, just a strong dark sider, so what he says in the phantom menace can still be the truth. Or 2. The writers of this show are just really bad at their jobs and should go back to working at mcdonalds.
Honestly, trying to come up with inf universe motivations or explanations for anything Disney does at this point just seems like making excuses for them. I'm not upset about this because they lost my trust long ago, but I also don't like people trying to act like everything's fine.
@@godlikemachine645 I could say the same about a lot of the Legends EU. I may not like everything about the new Canon, but I prefer it over or love it equally with some of the best of the legends EU.
There are a lot of possible explanations for this apparent contradiction. 1st Ki-Adi Mundi never learns that the guy is a Sith. 2nd there is a deliberate decision to hide the fact that the Sith are still around (eg by the Jedi Council) 3rd Ki-Adi Mundi is killed and replaced by someone with the same name 4th Ki-Adi is in league with this paricular Sith 5th The guy is not a Sith 6th The Sith use a dark side ability to mindwipe those who learn about their existence including Ki-Adi etc etc. We just dont know yet how this will play out.
That's not Mundi. That's just the same species. Edit: so I feel a need to expound on this. Ki Adi Mundi is probably the "Bob Smith" of his species. I know that there are people who have the same name as people from history. Somewhere someone is named Jashua and had a father named Joseph so that person's name is Jashua bin Joseph which was the name of the historic figure attributed to be Jesus of Nazareth. So someone somewhere has the same name as Christ. Because Jashua is and was a common name as is and was Joseph. So Ki Adi Mundi is probably a name that has come up in that species before will come up in between then and the prequels and come up again during the time of the new Republic. Because it's likely as common as "Bob" is here.
My fear is they don’t know what they’re doing and therefore don’t know the implications of having him alive back then. However, I love that he’s still fucking everything up as he always does.
he is not a character that has done much in kanon up until now, so if they know who he is they know basically everything about him, there's a good chance he'll be used as some kind of plot device, and about his age, i couldn't care less if they retcon how long his species can live, don't care about legends at all
the fact that there are people genuinely defending acolyte is crazy this thing sucks you could make spin-off movie about jar jar binks life or pod racing and its still hundred times more enjoyable than acolyte or anything disney write
The first episode was alright for me, but I feel like they gave away the entire mystery of the acolyte in that one episode, kinda ruined everything else for me.
the issue here is that he is directly involved with the events of this show, meaning he would have had first hand knowledge. so either the "big bad" isn't a sith, or he lied in phantom menace. that and this took place before he could have been born. the whole thing is absurd, and poorly written.
It’s dumb as fuck because in the Phantom Menace, he said the Sith have been extinct for 1000 years. That doesn’t make any sense, because he probably would have known about the current Sith attack if he was alive in this show.
@@HappyGingerWolf no, it’s the implications of ki adi mundi knowing the sith accusations by qui gon are probably accurate based on what is happening in the acolyte. Mundis lack of action or him covering this up makes no sense, and directly leads to qui Gons death. And it’s most definitely a sith, the “master” is quoting sith stuff. It’s a mockery
@@outdoortherapy6332he is unaware that it is a Sith. You should really rewatch the episode. That whole group of Jedi agree it is probably a splinter group or rogue Jedi. They have no reason to believe it is a Sith and the Jedi who go after Mae are more than likely going to all get killed. It’s really not that complicated.
@@BarbsBasement if the show ends up the way you explained that’s a lot better, we will see. They’re setting up a lot of loose ends for no reason so I’d hope they close it out how you explain
