I am one of those people who can actually imagine tastes. I am trying so very hard not to cross the taste of underpants with the aroma or old lady perfume. The course texture of cotton.... My first experience with coffee was a Tim Horton's Ice Cappuccino. Those things are like 1% coffee and like 95% sugar and milk. Eventually I transitioned to sugar and cream heavy ice coffee, and then milky regular coffee. Now, I just drink it black because I am lazy and like the richness of a good coffee.

yep i actually love the taste as well, used to hate it a while back but as i started working i found myself drinking more and more coffee to stay awake, and i actually started liking it. lately i've been drinking decaffeinated because i like to have a coffee after every meal even after dinner without feeling restless.

If you don't like the taste AT ALL, you're probably not going to like any kind of coffee or coffee variation, but if you're ok with the taste but think it's too strong or bitter, you might enjoy a different type of coffee, or drink it with sugar, or a mocca, or cappuccino, etc.

I don't remember liking coffee that much the first time but then it gradually started growing on me then became an addiction! Learn to make it the way you like it over time or order it the way you want it. Makes a huge difference.

The only way to drink it. I live in Seattle home of Starbucks, and we have lots of coffee places that are 100% better than Starbucks. They used to be good till the early 90s, and then they turned into the McDonald's of coffee.

I used to like it really sweet, now I add a little sugar to take the edge off the bitterness. But sometimes it's nice to get a caramel macchiato every once in a while. Though usually when I get coffee at a shop I ask for an extra shot in it lol

Plain coffee for an unsuspecting first time drinker, that's harsh 😂 Not going to lie, I spit my first ever mouthful of coffee out into a sink. It wasn't until college when need forced me to turn to it and even then it was with lots of milk and sugar at first. I now drink it black because I genuinely love the taste, but that 'easing' into it was so necessary.

If your coffee smells like dirt, then it is probably made from burnt coffee beans. A really good coffee has a really smooth smell. It should smell like caramel.

Coffee is one of those things that I love but can easily understand how someone else might not like it. I used to drink a pot a day now I have a cup maybe once a wk & I only drink really good coffee made in my French press. I've learned I used to drink it just to drink it I wasn't actually enjoying it but now when I have a cup I really savor it.

Despite the fact that I spent the first half of the day after filming this shaking and the second half sleeping, I really enjoyed this! To everyone asking how I've not drank coffee before, my Dad and I are really close and he doesn't drink alcohol or coffee, so I just never really started (Although I have tried ciders after moving to Ireland). Used to drink coffee when I was about 15. Mainly because it felt like a grown up thing to do and as a teen, you would do what your friends/peers did. Never liked it ...even with milk and sugar. I'll take tea anyday.

Coffee is like beer: the first couple of times you're like " *why* would *anyone* drink this?!" But if you just keep drinking it, you start to appreciate it. Pro tip: only drink black coffee. You won't like it in the beginning anyway, but black coffee is a lot better for you than all the cream and sugar.

xthatwhiteguyx, number one, I don't. I drink it strong and black. However, apply that logic to any food and you will realize that some are nearly inedible with no seasoning. Meat, e.g. Cook a burger with no salt or anything-make it tiny because you can hardly choke it down.

I don't know what that thing was, but it wasn't a macchiato. Macchiato means "to stain" because it's literally just a splash of steamed milk in an espresso shot.

I respect their opinions because this was exactly me. The only reason I really started drinking coffee was cause I quit drinking, and it just felt natural to pound gallons of coffee back. Now I love it.

I absolutely LOVE my 3 cup Bialetti moka brewer..! I cant believe how few coffee drinkers have this thing, and instead pay from $3 to $8 for an espresso at a café. Even if i buy pretty expensive coffee, it still only cost $1 to make a cup, and around 25 cent if i buy 1kg of Lavazza beans. With regular coffee, i get this "sour stomac" feeling and feel somewhat "jittery" if i drink too much. Darker roasted beans transforms some acids in the beans into some kinda sugar, and as a result i avoid the "sour stomac", and just feel more "focused" and high energy instead of that crappy "jittery" feeling - and i dont get as strong cigarette cravings, which is nice as im trying to transition back to ecig.

I have nearly had a coffee a day since I was 13 years old and love it. I find Tea I drink when sick as it has a way of relaxing you but each to there own I have my cuppa white with 2 and will continue to till they ban it lol

I think that coffee’s something someone rarely loves first time trying it. I'm almost 18 and I’m just getting into it now. I recommend starting with milk and sugar, I, for example, I like cappuccino with oat milk and sugar.

Stigma on alcohol? Maybe in a muslim country. Consider that the majority world religion (christianity) includes ritual use of alcohol (communion/eucharist/mass).

I just got into drinking coffee thing recently and unsweetened coffee is kinda less enjoyable to drink for me. I'm ok with the bitterness (not black coffee though. Like coffee+milk unsweetened) but the lack of sweetness makes my brain goes "Wait, something's missing"

And let's face it, pouring ground up, dried beans into a filter so you can pour hot water through it so you're not drinking mud or using a French press isn't any less weird...

oh man, as a former coffee roaster and barista, I really hope people know that different beans and different roasts GREATLY change how each drink tastes. It's not just a latte, it's a latte with a dark-roasted Brazilian for the espresso. Not trying to be a snob but I guarantee you that you could probably find a bean you like. (Try a light Costa Rican for your espresso if you don't like strong flavour or a medium Colombian. In Ireland, Costa Coffee used to have an amazing Kenyan if you like a bit of a fruity taste.) :)

Ardin Catish it's the same with tea too. I'm sure there are teas that they don't t like. It Mmm they just gotta keep trying to find the right flavour. I only drink decaf myself bc there's something in normal coffee that messes with my stomach. But I love teas and coffees. So I understand both. Oh and also the amount of time a bean/tea is steeped or roasted also effects the flavour. The longer you steep the tea the stronger it is. The more roasted or the hotter the water the stronger it is. Tea and coffee are very similar.

Out of the drinks they served, the mocha is the only one that is to be served with cream and sugar (mocha sauce, not so much sugar). Assuming the "macchiato" was a latte macchiato, that is only to be served with milk. The only coffee drink that is "meant" to have cream or sugar added to taste is brewed coffee; really what i'm saying is they served the drinks just fine.
