Oh I’m so glad you are reacting to this. The books have been a huge part of my childhood, and it’s been brilliant so far to see them brought to life. The young cast Walker Scobell [Percy] Aryan Simhadri [Grover] and Leah Jeffries [Annabeth] that make up the trio from the books are amazing. I watched the films, and really didn’t enjoy them. Rick Riordan [the author] has been super involved with the show from the beginning, and they are staying very close to the books so far which is brilliant to see. I hope the show is successful so we can get the other books on screen.
Yes! A reactor I enjoy is finally reacting to this show! I reread the book right before the series and this show is hitting all the right notes. They’re adapting all the right details while also evolving and even improving on certain moments. Walker Scobell and Aryan Simhadri are perfect as Percy and Grover. And I love this version of Sally just from this episode. I’m sure the 8 score is from fans excited to finally have a good adaptation and I agree.
im so glad this show is happening because most percy jackson fans HATE the films (both of them) because of how badly they “adapted” the book. I put it in quotes cus they changed it so much it was unrecognizable as the story from the books. So this show is actually adapting it well and i think a LOT of us are thankful to have a GOOD adaptation for once
Every book in the PJO series is a different summer, except for book 3 which happens in the winter between the other two summers, so aging is naturally expected, don't expect the Stranger Things factor xD
So great to see you reacting to this! I was a fan of the books in my childhood and was looking forward to this show so much! I’m probably on the more critical side of the fandom when it comes to reviewing but so far, it’s been good. The cast is doing their best and Walker impresses me with his acting, especially episode 3 (which I can't wait to see your reaction for!) but it's the sets and cinematography that rekindled the fond nostalgia. Percy’s humor is a BIG part of the books but I'm glad they made the pilot show his emotional and angry sides too.
The movies by all accounts (including the author's Rick Riordan) were trash and were not at all loyal to the books. Riordan is directly involved in this adaptation and it's much truer to the series.
@@thecreatordiesalone8703 i’m sure after all episodes are released we’ll get a proper answer on whether it’ll be renewed or not. i sure hope so and it’s looking promising considering the audience reaction to only 3 episodes so far.

I think the score is so high because the movies were horrible, and I'm sorry if you liked it haha but the reality is that the movies disrespectfully deviate from the books, the two movies are not even 2% of the content original in the books and the fans of the saga never liked it, you can check here on youtube the thousands of videos where they explain how the movies are nothing similar nor do they have the same message as the books I think the clearest example is the difference in age of the characters. Percy is supposed to be 12 years old in the movie, he is 17 and you can't compare the problems of a 12-year-old with those of a teenager. almost adult
The Percy Jackson series was the first book series I actually completed. Other than the diary of the wimpy kid. Also have you guys considered reacting to mma fights or anime with fighting scenes ? Like Kengan ashura or Baki?
