I totally dig Perfect Dark, its soundtrack, and this "lost theme" from it especially. But I noticed that it's a real pain in the ass to find an upload of this song on RU-vid that isn't of rather low quality. However, I was lucky enough to stumble upon an audio file of a higher-quality version! I took the liberty of dressing it up and altering the volume in Audacity since it was very quiet, but either way, as far as I can tell, this is the highest-quality version currently existing on RU-vid. Hope you enjoy it.

I was a dev on this game, I remember speaking to grant kirkhope in the dev block about the removal of this very tune about the time he replaced it, I (and John Mummery-Cut Scene Animator who recently passed away

I got an expansion pak around 2006 and I was blown away with this game's campaign. Great Job, man. Did you also worked on Free Radical too?

Not sure I'd call it a remix. I wrote this whilst still at Rare. It was called Ocean Bed back then. When I left, the French Horn was taken out of the sound back and replaced with a Trombone so it doesn't sound like I intended like most of the tracks I worked on for PD. Personally I was really happy with the track. I think the powers that be didn't care for it hence it being dumped

They seriously should've kept this in the finished game. It could've been used as the "Deep Sea X" theme that plays when Joanna and Elvis have to escape from the Cetan ship. Hell, they could've combined the two tracks together, considering how short the "Deep Sea X" theme is, compared to the regular "Deep Sea" music.

The other half of this song was used in the 1998 trailer show to people at Nintendo. It was also in the 1999 one.

I remember when I first found out about this beta music. Apparently it was used in a trailer for the game? This game has a lot of beta junk in it. I only wish my Gameshark didn't break.

I think this tune would have worked during the part where Elvis and Jo are deactivating the mega weapon deep inside. And then used the X theme when they are escaping the Cetan itself. Both themes could have been used.
