I know it's a broken record by now but this adaptation by Madhouse is so well produced. This is what happens when a team is given the proper time to fully see their vision realized.
i think normally sense would be like the final boss but since frieren is also there they got the double boss treatment, we also havent seen a fern clone which we know could stealth & spam which is really dangerous too
Spoiler, Weakness not the mimic but Fern has figured that Frieren has a millisecond gap of vulnerability when casting a spiel. Frieren cant detect mana during that millisecond, that will be there opening
also the fight scene for Übel was insane. Not only was the animation so smooth and fluid, but the transition from a 3rd to 1st person POV midbattle was amazing. I've only seen this done a few times and never done with such fluidity. The Madhouse animation team continues to bring their A-game. Thanks for your reaction my brother

Fern is like one of those really straight-laced kids who were raised by hippie parents who despite being really laissez-faire about most stuff they did do their job when they had to. I have friends whose famlies are like that. Fern's often more responsible than Frieren and she ends up taking care of her for a lot of stuff and taking things more seriously in general, but you know that when the shit finally hits the fan mama Frieren will step up and take care of business.
The anime's adapting tome 6 right now. I'm pretty sure will adapt all the tome 6 and the beginning of tome 7, where 1st grade mage test ends. Currently there's 12 tomes in Japan, so they can easily make another 24+ episodes season. I can't wait to watch El Dorado arc.

I hate Frieren in this arc, she ruin the entire 1st mage exam, she known Serie dont let her pass the 1st class mage exam but she still doing the exam to troll Serie. Frieren was the one who kill most people by her plan in 1st exam and because of her clone in 2nd exam many mage give up. If Fern doing the exam alone, the test is much easier and safer Fern clone got clap by Methode alone, Sense clone got clap by Ubel easily
@@beatrizoliveira9344 They meant that Sense knew that the dungeon creates perfect copies and still let Frieren participate, which makes her clone vastly superior to any of the other mages. Otherwise, the strongest enemy they'd have to face is Sense's clone, which while incredibly dangerous, still doesn't compare to Frieren. Frieren is basically a tank, while everyone else are infantrymen. In normal circumstances, a tank will always beat a soldier, but in the right circumstances, a soldier can disable a tank.
Magic is a game of imagination and Fern is the only one here with the balls to believe she can actually take out Frieren. Denken had that dog in him but he ain’t HER

the team had a couple episodes done before airing, if they do the same for season 2 it might take less time than we think (being optimistic about getting el dorado arc animated soon enough, I just cant wait to watch my favorite frieren arc so far)
The King on the fresque is a reference to the Merovingian dynasty - the very first of King dynasry of the Europe after Rome fall. As per some tales they had deep connection with nature and living creatures which accepts them as a rulers of the world and obey them. Froeren series is full of references to real hystory, games, other anime series. For example in revious eposide the restaurant they all had supper is called "Bell". That is a reference to the main character of "Meet you in the dungeon".
In a world of imagination, One can imagine to defeat another depending on how great their imagination is. There are also instances where one specific magic technique is undeniably strong but that doesn't mean its invincible. Think about rock, paper, scissors. If Fern and methode were to fight, methode would win. Actually the one that can defeat freiren is kanne, with the presents of rain or large body of water of course.
Ive read the mange and i can say that the end of the arc is super satisfying. Not realy spoiler but to be safe: The glasses guy with the clones was so badass even though he only got a few panels. Magic fantasy and powerscaling in frieren is depicted so good it gives me goosebumps
I saw someone on Crunchyroll mention that Frieren was going to have a 28 episode season 1. So hopefully there will still be enough content for a season 2 after all 28 episodes. Assuming it is actually a 28 episode season. At the very least, there's 25 episodes given the preview.
Frieren needs a rogue type party member like Chilchuck to save her from mimics, but considering she won't trust a spell that's 99% accurate determining whether or not a treasure chest is a mimic, she'd piss him off he'd leave the party.
It's interesting how easily you seem to accept the fact that Fern can beat Frieren, without thinking there's a trick lol. Fern is a prodigy but the show has been telling you for 24 episodes that Frieren is f.... out of the league. And the whole episode talk about strategy.

Maybe I'm tripping, but that Mural made me think that maybe "The Goddess" of their religion is actually an Elf. Maybe their heaven is some kind a of spell that Elf is casting to bind the souls of the dead to the world of the living in Aureole? Just a hypothesis. This is so frustrating to always have an abrupt end to these episodes after so much good stuff, but I've got to say that the several great fight scenes we've had this time ALMOST make up for it.
13:00 - I would not be surprised if work on another cour is already going on at Madhouse. The worldwide response to the series has been phenominal. For example, before the series started, the manga had sold 10 million copies in Japan. In the months of Sept to Dec 2023, they sold another _seven million copies._ A phrase that has become a meme there is "It's what the Hero Himmel would do." 2026? I'm wagering Fall 2025. They did it with SPY X FAMILY, and they'll do it here. (I'm just hoping "The Apothecary Diaries" and "Shangri-La Frontier" have equal success.)

Using mimic to defeat a clone is dumb. Why is everyone always bringing idea that up? Since the clone was made to guard a room or passage we expect it to not go out of its way just to check whether its a chest with grimoire or a mimic and if ever it does, it would just blast the mimic to escape just like what freiren said. Since you are not sure whether it has a mind or not, you guys should not take a risk in bringing a mimic to defeat it.
Don’t take it too seriously dude, it’s just a funny idea to go along with the comedy of the series. Even if it did happen, she has the same memories and instincts SO if she did go for the mimic, it would delay them for a moment. This is what they were wanting from the hypnosis magic, to at least delay the clone for a moment to attack. So IF we take this scenario as a genuine strategy, get the Frieren clone stuck in a mimic and as they are taking time to escape…everyone blast the shit out of them! 😂
