This is a pretty solid little workbench. While once you figure out how it comes together, it is physically Easy to assemble ru-vid.comUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh by yourself. But the diagrams explaining the steps are really pretty bad. I could not get the handle pins in all the way despite multiple attempts, so I just used a screw I had on hand for the 2nd handle. I could not get the first pin in further or pull it back out. You are supposed to hammer it in, but I had no leverage and the handle is plastic and I did not want to risk breaking it. I will get a lot of use out of the bench because of the convenient size and height. It does fold up nicely for storage. They even explain how to fold it so you don't get pinched...that is important!

Great build! Nice job editing, explaining the steps you took, mistakes made & how to avoid them, safety tips on the how & why you used the hoist, etc. I got back into woodworking after I retired and am kind of gimpy. Ideas like the hoist will help keep me from screwing my self up further and likely extend the time I will be able to keep doing projects. (That is if I don’t kill my self installing the hoist ;).

Thanks man! I’m glad I get some exercise while building things but putting myself in a dangerous position is non negotiable haha. I’ve been wanting to figure out a way to help manage large sheets of plywood as well. Still in the brainstorming stages on that one! Glad to hear you’re picking it back up, hope this helps! Cheers!

I had built something like this but your ideas solve so many of the issues I encountered. Great video. It will be a big help when I rebuild. I agree with not using the melamine. I made my top out of MDF and shellaced it. It has held up well.

Thank you! It’s been a really nice addition to my shop! MDF would have been a great choice. I’ll be rebuilding in the near future. My garage is now dedicated as a shop and I don’t mind something a little more permanent with storage to hold all my crap haha. Thanks for watching! Cheers!

Building my first foldable wall workbench in a couple weeks. In my brainstorming session I had the same idea about automated lifting. The crane was my first idea, converting a motorized tv stand with guide rails was my second. Being pressed for time I decided on the first. I've watched several of these videos and this is the first I've found with the same idea. Yep, you earned this sub, sir. Thanks for the video.

was thinking something like that also except it would be attached to the wall and then fold up when not in use. to be used with routing wood mostly like the track idea and also with the use of bench dog holes also!! Great work

@@WoodNerds I’m currently working on a mitre saw station for the shop I just built. It somehow went from what it’s purpose was for, to cleaning out a storage locker and putting it in my shop 🤦🏻‍♂️ So my station has a ton of storage space underneath. But I do love this build and it’s definitely in my future plans.
@WoodNerds
@WoodNerds 2 года назад
That’s cool man! I was thinking about doing a miter station as well. Might just go with one of those rolling stands that store the saw vertically instead. Might save me some space. Well good luck with your projects man! If you build this, let me know how it turns out!

Hi! I just found your video, love the way you recorded and edited your video. My husband has his own DIY channel, and I am sometimes his "editor-in-chief" so to speak, and sir, you did really well!! I love how you explain, I love the angles of your video clips, the audio is crisp, great music choice for the background, and you did such a wonderful job explaining how you did everything. I do have a little bias since I love DIY videos, but this was super nice to watch. I was completely focused on the video the entire time. Well done!!! New subscriber for sure! Cannot wait to see more of your content. Glad I found you! PS: I loved your VIP Tool clip at the end.

Great design and nice construction. Every shop could make good use of a mobile workbench that folds flat against a wall. A downsized version of this project is on my “things to build” list. Thank you for the video.
