Thank you for this I’ve been running dyes through my brush and there’s no better way. Just a heads up from a model builder a real good cleaner is Windsor newton brush cleaner and restorer this stuff really works miracles on what it can get out. Thanks again for the video.

Hello Michael! I'm a bit curious how hard is to clean airbrush after resolene?I know that if I use airbrush for example for any kind of usual varnish coatings it is really hard to clean it up. And after that continuous use airbrush becomes clogged very badly. In some cases it could cost u an airbrush, so u'll need to buy a new one. I mean that primarily use of airbrush is with paint due to its small air hole for painting thinner lines. And for finishing with lacquer usually used paint sprayers with with bigger air hole in it, so it wont get clogged.

great question. cleanup is a breeze honestly. I have a 2nd bottle with 70% isopropyl alcohol in it. when i’m done spraying my resolene or dye I spray a good bit of the IPA (isopropyl alcohol) through the brush. Make sure you block the end of the airbrush with your finger so that it will backfill and clean the inside of the airbrush thoroughly. Once I do that I remove the needle and clean it with a cotton swab doused and isopropyl alcohol. I’ll let everything dry in the air and then reassemble for next use

OK having watched this and recently tried using 10 coat in my airbrush. I have some questions. What size needle did you use in the airbrush? What pressure did you use? Did you dilute the resin with water or anything else to keep it from clogging the airbrush? As I mentioned, I used tan coat straight out of the bottle and it just clogged up my airbrush, something fierce and took me forever to take it apart and clean it and get it working. And once you were done, what did you use to clean your airbrush? I hope to see some good answers from you.

What psi do you run your compressor at and at what ratio do you dilute your mixture?

yes, you get the best results with pro dye.

Do you dilute the resolene at all? I have read where people will dilute 50/50 with water and apply with an airbrush?

No I have not found it necessary to thin the resolene. My airbrush set up is the kit from Harbor freight and I use Pro dye and acrylic resolene in it all the time. As I said before make sure you do clean your airbrush as soon as you are finished spraying your acrylic resolene. Otherwise you have a high probability of your airbrush not working next time you pick it up. Acrylic resolene is very sticky but as long as you wash it properly after use you will be good to go.

Did you think your Resolene?
@MichaelMaysLeatherworks

No I do not thin my acrylic resolene. You do want to make sure you clean your air brush as soon as you’re finished spraying your acrylic resolene as it is very sticky and will make your needle stick.
