Obviously Reptile is a song, not an album, like you pointed out, the joke lies in the fact that the song is so long that it could count as multiple tracks, and what do we usually call a compilation of songs put together by the artist? @@MessiahKnight hard disagree dawg. Just like every other periphery album has had before it, this album needs some juxtaposition. I'd say the weirdest, most "out of place" song is crush, and I still really dig it and think it fits. It's still growing on me, but the album as a whole is a banger imo.

@@TheMetalTris You'll always have my support my friend! I caved in and blasted the album yesterday, another fantastic release from them. I prefaced it by listening to Periphery II. Reptile is fucking MASSIVE, Follow Your Ghost, It's only Smiles are a few real favorites, it's a great record! I will take some more listens to fully digest the songs like Crush and Satellites, but I look forward to hearing them more thoroughly. This band has such amazing skill and talent and I always appreciate their work, especially Matt Halpern's drum work. Cheers man \m/

No, Stan isn't a concept record but Reptile is basically written like it's a story/movie.

Spencer is pretty transparent with his lyrics. I'm sure he'll dig into it more

I think overall the album is about interdimensional demons/aliens coming and destroying the earth, with points of view on both sides of the effort.

@@Idontknowone1able I thought Reptile was a parody of the Reptilian conspiracy,. Also, the first 4 songs have a good bit of references to God and Christianity (not good references at that lol). Seems like the album is a parody of those TRVE CVLT black metal bands, as can be seen with CHVRCH BVRNER. It does feel like there's a story though and that some of the song are connected like Garden in the Bones and Crush as both reference a tribe.

Shawn Mitchell oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize that I had to further explain. The Clarkson cover video didn’t just affect their success from the point that it was recorded forward. it also sent reverberations through time that retroactively influenced the band’s success as well. That video counterbalanced the weight of the Spencer haters’ influence from years earlier

@@keatsflores5247 how when most of all the Spencer haters loved him when p2 came out because he improved 10 fold as a vocalist? P2 is still regarded as their best album aswell. People hated spencer because of his pop like timbre, so people loved him after covering a top 10 radio friendly pop song? Lol. So you didn't like periphery or spencer until you saw him do a drunk karaoke of since you've been gone?
