Kyrie is definitely skilled man. But people forget about Kobe’s left handed 3 and playing with left hand after he tore on his rotator. Kyrie trained under Kobe at mamba camp in 2019. Watch kyrie foot and look at the moves he learned from mamba.

@ammarahmad22
@ammarahmad22 2 года назад
Bro, a left hand shot is impressive and all. But ppl be forgetting how many shots Kobe put up a game. Bro be taking the most ridiculous shots for no reason. Kobe never averaged 47% fg in a single season. Kobe never averaged 37% fg from 3. Kobe never averaged 87% from the ft. On the other hand, Kai is a 50-40-90 player. He’s on the verge of averaging another 50-40-90 season. He has a better 3pt shot, better handles, better ball placement, better layup package. And when it comes to footwork, the argument could be made it’s heavily similar to Kobe’s. No disrespect to Kobe, but Kyrie needs to be given his props already. He’s the most skilled player in nba history. Not to mention, he’s 6’2…

People forget about everything that happened 5 years ago. Kyrie is nowhere near the most skilled player ever. Now, he very well may be the most talented ball handler, but that's where it stops. I don't think most people know what "skills" are, or what "most skilled" means... Having the most "skills" means offensively having the widest range of fundamental and tangible tools in your arsenal, that one is actually comfortable with and good at. As much as I love Kobe, it is extremely reasonable to say Kyrie is the most skilled. Kyrie literally is not missing one tool... Ball handling right hand/left hand, finishing right hand/left hand, post game shooting over either shoulder, ability to play the glass, shooting off the dribble, shooting off the catch, coming off screens, body control, floaters, free throws, fades, leaners, pull ups, flawless footwork, shooting off the 1-2, shooting off the hop, deep range, mid range. Kobe had a complete arsenal as well but was never as good an all around shooter as Kyrie. That can give Kyrie the edge. Also no one's a better ball handler than Kyrie so there's that. And people underestimate how much harder it is to do MJ/Kobe like things while being 6-2 and not 6-6. People mistake intangibles and who's the greater player when talking about skills.
@VK-mn7mt
@VK-mn7mt 2 года назад
kobe has all of that plus defense which does take skill which is why kobe had to learn to be even better on defense by getting tips by gary payton and a deeper post bag than kyrie because kobe would hit skyhooks and hooks over centers and other crazy difficult shots in an era with no spacing.
@mrmajor247
@mrmajor247 2 года назад
@@VK-mn7mt Once again, when talking about "skills"/"most skilled", it's offensive repertoire that's being evaluated, not defense. So bringing up defense is irrelevant. I already brought up how Kobe's skill set is just as complete... The difference is, Kyrie has the edge in a few of those categories all while being smaller and much less athletically gifted. Sure, Kobe was better at hook shots (which size and position obviously plays a part in)... Well Kyrie is better at layups in general, ball handling, and long range shooting (vice versa). See, we can't ignore the efficiency element when evaluating, since Kyrie and Kobe can do pretty much all of the same things respectively. The same way it's noteworthy for Kobe to do MJ things while not being the athlete MJ was, it must be acknowledged that Kyrie is doing those same things while being much smaller and less athletic than both... For Kyrie, the difficulty is higher in a sense, yet he's more efficient. I'm simply saying, in fairness, Kobe can't definitively be put ahead of Kyrie skill wise... Evidence doesn't support that definitive stance.

Yea it's Kobe. And by "most skilled" it's the largest array of moves to score. Kyrie has crazy handle but i dont know if he has the same amount of different ways of scoring that kobe did. Even though Kobe's game was heavily influenced by MJ's game. Kobe was like an MJ remix. He did more up/under that he got from training with Hakeem, and he shot threes way more then MJ. He also had all the different contourting under the rim circus shots kyriee has. So it's not a question of who's the more unstoppable scorer/weapon bc that would probably be KD. But skill (amount of different ways of scoring from all over the floor) that was definitely KOBE ...all time...and that's not even imcluding defense which is a whole other addition to his SKILLset.

Kobe had 62 points in 33 minutes. The Mavericks (2nd in the West at the time) had 61 after 36 minutes. Kobe was up 62 to 61 after 3 quarters with 3 minutes on the bench. Let that sink in.

Dame did participate in the dunk contest and did not embarrass himself one bit. Why can't LeBron participate in it? Dame is 6'2 like Kyrie with the deep range of Steph. But he doesn't dribble like Kyrie or shoot as efficient as Steph.

Kareem was accomplished but was he really skilled and athletic? Not really. Hakeem was more skilled. Shaq was talented but had the least amount of basketball skill among the top 10-12 greats. MJ was a combination of everything.

When Kobe is the #1 option and the opposing team game plans against him he still dominates & wins. When Kyrie is the #1 option and the opposing team game plans against him, he doesn’t go too far in the playoffs or wins. Kyrie is top 10 in skill, maybe top 5 but he hasn’t put on these type of performances when it’s just his team and he has to lead. No hate jus facts, you can’t name one time where he has. Kobe, Lebron, MJ, Hakeem etc has tho.

@@robbanks7540 but skill has to translate with results. Being able to use them when you need them. I get what perk is saying but to say he’s the most skilled ever after he drops 60 is an emotional statement. Kobe did it all at a high level and won as well. That’s why it’s hard to put em over, in my opinion.

This whole “most skilled” debate is just a useless debate of diction that in reality means nothing. No he’s not the most skilled. Skilled doesn’t mean “player with the best offensive game” or “best handles” or any mix of characteristics like that. Kevin Durant or Kobe is the most “skilled” player ever. That includes defensive and offensive skills, on the wing and in the post, athleticism and shooting, etc. Kyrie doesn’t belong in this conversation.

You people are confusing the best player opposed to the “most skilled”. Kyrie has the most complete package by far and Steph Curry is his son, period.

Obviously most people here only talk about offensive skills and the ability to score. No way Kyrie is more skilled than Kobe or even MJ Kobe and also Jordan have the best footwork, fadeaway, hangtime, ability to score under pressure against double and triple teams. Kyrie's ball handling skills are a bit better but same is true for Jamal Crawford or Steve Francis and Rafer Alston but they are not more skilled else they would have scored and avg more.

The reasons why Michael Jordan is the GOAT and will remain that way for the foreseeable future is because he is top 5 in most accomplished, most skilled, and most talented. You really can't say that about anybody else.
