I really think this could help someone who’s going through it. I’m so sorry for your terrible experience!❤️

this happened to me.. in my 30s now, but first got my wisdom teeth extracted in my 20s... the doctor told me. your tooth is touching a nerve. you might lose feeling for 6 days , 6 weeks, 6 months or 6 years... 10 years later.. I'm like 90% better. the Nerve damage will go away. however, in my case I was drooling didn't know at times, face tingling always, lip numb... I developed TMD after, and ended up with night guards. now in my 30s life is much better. I honestly thought I would never get married.. I was super depressed in my 20s....now about to get engaged lol. FYI , it's not permanent. it will take a very long time for it to come back..

I've heard stories from friends who’ve dealt with nerve damage for over 10 years with little improvement. Everyone heals differently, and I’m doing everything I can to heal while I’m still young. I want to help others because this kind of pain is life-altering. Early on, I was depressed due to how severe it was, just a breeze outside would cause me intense pain. Quitting vaping reduced my nerve pain and numbness by about 80%. One spot on my lip used to be so sensitive it would drop me to the floor, but it no longer affects me. I believe it's due to everything I’ve done to promote healing: massaging, taking vitamins, and quitting vaping. Now, I deal with auditory issues. Have you experienced this? Vibrations, like from driving, irritate my jaw and nerves, often sending me to bed in pain.

I’ve dealt with terribly traumatic dental experiences too. I’m sorry you’ve had to face something like this, I couldn’t imagine going through such α thing. Quitting vaping will benefit your health in general too. Be proud of how far you’ve come. I wish you all the best, hopefully it will continue to get easier with time.

@@yourloveismydemise Thank you. I have a physical reaction where my body starts shaking and I can’t keep stop it when I’m sitting in that traumatizing chair. I don’t wanna go to the dentist anymore. I wasn’t ever afraid of the dentist but given the long and traumatizing history, I am very afraid.

@@Mollyroyal01I understand completely, my experiences have made me the same way, just the thought of ever needing to go feels like α nightmare. Thank you for sharing your story, what we’ve been through is terrible but it’s comforting to know that I’m not alone.

How can you eat or sleep with something like that? I still have all my wisdom teeth but was often told that I needed to have them removed. After hearing this, I'm seriously considering just leaving them in! I was told that the upper wisdom teeth would have to be cut out and the bottom ones pulled out. OR find a good dentist who knows what they are doing! I'm so glad you recovered from this horrible experience! 👍🙏

Best to seek further advice from a professional maybe oral surgeon because it can get worse when you age then the problem becomes much more difficult and more complicated. All the best.

@@TJWinter1221 I am still recovering not 100% yet but I’m told I won’t ever be back to normal. So I’m praying that mentally I can live with it. Also, when they take X-rays of your teeth, they can tell if the wisdom teeth are sitting on the nerves or not. FIND A SURGEON. After many decades of dental malpractice, the permanent nerve damage was my last straw. I will travel 3 hours away for the top dental surgeons in what ever state I live in and pay out of pocket bcz insurance doesn’t cover out of network. But so worth it than being botched. I definitely suggest finding someone that will also listen to your concerns. My current dentist deals with permanent nerve damage in his other clients and he took the time to explain things that I already knew but I didn’t have the heart to tell him. Besides the point, DONT GET YOUR WORK DONE BY ASPEN DENTAL or any dental offices that are corporate and all over like Aspen. Find a little family owned dentist or something in town, they’re much better!

@@fionashek6159 well we’re kinda past that and I did try to get help but in order to get help the doctor needed to admit it on paper that he caused my permanent nerve damage. My primary helped as much as she could though and that’s all I could really ask for.

I’m going through something similar! Awful pain every day since the removal just over 6 weeks ago. Im scared it will never go away. Face is still swollen and a little bit numb. Going to a post op today to talk about it. Im nervous. Thank you for the tips!

@@hotpocketmaster6926they won’t want to admit that they caused your nerves damage. My doctor told me to massage the entire jaw and I swear taking vitamins helps, you can find me on instagram or TikTok and message me directly if you need someone to talk to. Molly_royal23 insta & molly.royal0 TikTok. You should do anything you possibly can to get them to admit it and write it in your file AND you need to sue. My dentist told me I should have sued but it’s been more than 2 years so I can’t.

@@Dracula-m2k go to a dental surgeon, they are qualified to do extractions but you want to find the best in your price range or one that insurance covers. Everyone’s experience is different, my nerves were connected to the tooth. This is MY outcome. They will do x-rays and see if the nerves are connected to the teeth because if you’re not hurting, you can hold off until you have to get them out. If nerves and teeth aren’t touching, you are in the clear and should have nothing to worry about. This is a rare occurrence but it happens to a small number of patients. Going in it was a complicated procedure and btw if the tooth is sitting on top of the nerve, they can remove the top part and leave the bottom part that’s touching the nerve in there. I wish I told them to do that cuz u would have permanent nerve damage but again it was my doctors call to proceed with the full extraction when he’s more educated and knows better. He should have only removed half.

@@thinline8504 My dentist actually told me I could sue and even encouraged it, but the window for that has long passed-there's typically a two-year limit, and it’s been three years for me. It’s crucial to find a dentist who’s truly on your side. Mine has experience dealing with botched surgeries from Aspen Dental, which have caused permanent nerve damage in many of his patients.
