Very interesting approach. As a DIYer with an interest in keeping our car tidy without going crazy on $£€¥ I get that simply filling a deep scratch with basecoat is a quick simple way to bring the paint surface back up to level without using paint putty and all that hassle .. but I wouldn't have thought of rubbing a base coat laden cloth over the existing clear top coat then sanding/buffing. Intriguing!

thanks again from Perth WA. I am learning a lot from you for minor paint repairs on both daughters car, thanks for keeping them to around 10 minutes makes it easier to absorb, basically, solvent paint, 1500 and 2000 grit and a good compound with a DA or rotary and you can go a long way for DIY repairs if we follow your steps.

Very good results, as usual! And besides being pretty sure that's single-stage paint, I wanted to mention that I've seen some lady in Instagram (DetailGirl, I think) that actually smears on the paint (with a vilt) and then she goes straight to buffing - without sanding. I suppose that's an option as well. Only on big chips she touches up with a toothpick and sands those a little prior to buffing. Your input is always appreciated though, CVR POV. Thank you for sharing! 🙂🙏

I know it's needs to be the same paint code but what should I ask for and where can I get it from? As I fancy taking a pint at this myself, I've polished the car but the bumper really does wind me up, thanks in advance buddy 👍🏻 Edit: found it, how much would I need to do a full front bumper like the one in this video?

So ive had 2 different packs from these guys. An Ice silver and a Midnight blue, both metallics. The silver was a little trickier as it is obviously lighter and had a ton of flakes in it as the oem paint does, took more time and a few more applications. The blue was a lot easier, I guess darker colours hide more. The different types of damage take to different methods better than others. Some can be filled with a brush, others a snapped cocktail stick and dabbing, multiple 'coats'...then using a denibbing file, and some with your fingers. A bit of trial and error its easy enough to pick up. Don't over do it and you can correct any mistakes. Believe it or not an old pad seems to work much better.
