From Perry's guest appearance on "The Flip Wilson Show" in 1970, Perry (as Dr. Como - "World famous singing psychiatrist") tries to assist Flip (as Geraldine Jones) in her relationship with boyfriend, Killer.
What a surprising pairing of diverse talents and personalities: singer and family man Perry Como (married 65 years!) and comic Flip Wilson’s “What you see is what you get!” Geraldine Jones. Very funny ending to their skit!
I was blessed to have seen Flip in Las Vegas show. He came out as Geraldine in a full length black mink coat. When I returned home I bought a full length black mink coat. His show was awesome. Will never forget it. 💕💕💕
Thank you SO MUCH for posting this wonderful clip--one of best of Flip as Geraldine. Perry Como is hilarious trying to keep a straight face. No one could when Geraldine was around. Absolutely brilliant comedy and Flip was such a gift to us all. Laughter is the best medicine! "What you see is what you get!" Flip was a genius and left such a legacy of comedy and quips that will long outlive us all. God bless you Flip!
This was one of my favorite Geraldine skits! Perry Como's low-key style was the perfect compliment to Flip Wilson's over the top approach. I wonder if the hand bag twirling was scripted or one of Flip's ad-libs? And how can I forget, "That's probably for you - Cause nobody else knows I'm here" And "If U don't stop calling here Emma, I'll pump YOUR nickel!" - Priceless!
TWO THINK I WATCH THIS AS KID. THAT EVERY ONE WAS ALIVE. PERRY COMO THOUGHT HE WAS SO FUNNY. COULDNT KEEP FROM LAUGHLIN. I MISS THESE DAYS TO THINK WE NEVER SEE THIS AGAIN.
Flip Wilson must have taken the character of Geraldine Jones from someone he knew at one time time in his life .The best comedic characters come from real life , you can't make this stuff up !
