Perry's heart is in the right place. It's tough to do so many different drugs and come down with whatever insight was handed to you. I think, and always have thought, that ultimately he was trying to do something positive with whatever his endeavors taught him, drug-related or not. Politics, however, are NOT the greatest forum for his way of trying to change things. He needs to make music...a lot of music...and deliver his messages through his talent, where he is most at home.
I fucking love this man. If I would be homosexual, booye, he'd bettar watch out! Ha ha, no seriously, EVERYTHING he does is fantastic. Every single Perr Farrell project.
So cute when he tries to be the mature activist. Would be so much more refreshing to see him be apolitical with the group thinking left the way they've become
Well, Chicago's gonna need a lot more plants Per. (the liberal "vibe" doesn't seem to be helping that place much, but hey, a few more gardens on roof tops couldn't hurt i guess. ;) ) I still love you man. You are a good man.
He seems like such an interesting and cool guy. I'm glad he's not some idiot and has actually takes advantage of the fact that he has the power to do something.
The video description couldn't be more wrong. "Former frontman of Jane's Addiction"...?? He would be THE frontman of Jane's Addiction!!! I know because I just saw them less than a week ago, with Eric Avery in-tow.
He is so sweet and his wife was on a reality show and I really liked her. She wears the pants in that family. He's right about the Internet and people not connecting like you do in person. I saw in Charleston, SC 3 or so girls, young teenagers walking with each other all 3 of them had a cell phone talking to someone else, unbelievable! I think everyone is guilty of hiding behind the Net. People can trash each other too easy makes you wonder if they wld do the same if face to face?
where are the three ameobas (Stephen Perkins, Flea & John Frusciante) recordings? What about a recording of john frusciante and dave navarro? "It doesnt mean they are not talented, it just means their hearts are not in the right place. I make money too but it was not the reason I got into music. Music is my first love." John Frusciante
I love his voice. I listened to it in the womb. I mean, It doesn't matter if he's gay, but I just grew up thinking he was straight (which he apparently is), and it'd go against my childhood memories if he were gay... I don't have a prob with gay ppl, infact, I am gay.
"Yeah, and most people don't stare at the upload date and then research a band's history before commenting on a video. Not exactly a life and death scenario. The last part of your remark is unnecessary. There's no reason for you to be so rude." Quoted for truth.
This is my first post- dont know why I need to preface my comments with that - but this interviewer was completely shit and I love Perry all the more for it! I am a total fan now and would love to see something new released! Wish old mate from whatever show was featured asked some down to earth questions.
This was from 2007. Unfortunately- in 2010, Global Warming isn't called that anymore- because the earth has cooled. Now known as Global Climate Change... also known as Seasons. HE IS 100% RIGHT about positive energy brings positive things to you.
@vernb57 I'd say he looks pretty good for his age. I mean he's a rock star, Bowe wore neck ribbons and shit...they live in a different world, you just gotta accept that and enjoy the show.
bumwp u r absolutely rite bro. This 1:1 conversation is a tad surreal since he speaks to his enviro-awareness projects with passion and coherence, untainted by rehearsed sind bytes or well oiled cliches. He is a green activist, a social artist, a creative musician, who speaks intelligibly in ways music fans rarelyhear, or perhaps don't want to hear. Ever heard Alice Cooper speak?> he is an academic trapped inside a rock n roll personna. PF has a + spirit/attitude, revealed wel in this clip.
WOW. Perry says some strong words about his boys from Janes. Now I am just a fan who has followed Janes religiously (spelling?) since 1991. (2 or 3 years to late if you ask me). Anyway, I always felt like they initially broke up because of the drugs...which could be true. But once they reunited, it always seemed that Dave Navarro wanted the attention.
Hate it when celebs get into "causes",,,blah, blah trees on top of million dollar high rises to slow down "global warming", blahhh, blah,...Silly! I like his music and seems like he would be fun to party in the desert with=)
It was called global warming because the world is getting hotter, but wait! Now our winters are colder than sh@#t, so now it's Global Climate Change....in the 70's we were afraid of global cooling, not global warming.....but I agree w/ Farell on religion.
Hard to believe Perry is 48 years old this year - comes across as at least a generation younger. George on the other hand looks like a 50 year old trying to be hip. Soul patch - how quaint!
tgarci2! dude! ive got the best way to get rid of hungry, poor and brocken people! if we just keep on not giving a shit about our planet and they'll all disapear.
wait a second, people actually want to be punk rockers? "And he's a hell of a lot more punk rock than you are buddy. " - I'd take that as one hell of a compliment
no, he is married to an amazing looking chick that does vocals on his side projects and dances during janes addiction shows..... also maynard from tool is gay who cares? they are very very different from us average joes. surrounded by the art culture must make one a lil more flamboyantly accented, but irregardless he is a heck of a musician and business guy
hmmmmm.... well i'll just say he's a great singer. i pretty much disagree with almost all of his opinions, philosophies and ideas but admittedly he seems like a nice person.
i'm not far away from that. i think he's musically very talented and he's a phenominal frontman and performer but he has views that i just dont agree with. nice guy though.
Yes there is. That's like me saying that there's no reason for you to be so pretentious. If you want to get philosophical here, my rudeness is entirely necessary. Without rude people, nice people would cease to exist.
@karp1941 I'm not as sure as you are, but you may want to temper your your beliefs. You are sitting in the test tube, s if you're wrong...I'd at least keep an open mind about it.
Is he gay? D: Dude if he is It's gonna disturb me... I've listened to his voice all my childhood adn it's disturbing... like finding out your dad is gay.
