Ok, wait I agree with you on the stoned thing most especially with guitarists after they tuned up and dial in - BUT - I am yet to have a drummer who can play stoned it just can't seem to happen without all the planets eclipsing or something! I don't care what people do, smoke, snort, or shove up their ass painted blue like Braveheart while whistling Dixie as long as they make it to band practice and can carry out their part. But there is just something about drummers that cannot seem to play when they're stoned. I've seen them play just fine on almost everything else though. Most guitarists are kind of unbearable if you don't get them stoned in all honesty. I used to keep some in the fridge just for that very reason but if you get my drummer stoned before practice is over you will never hear the end of it. I'll make sure of that. Just sayin. It's like when you go to shows, especially ones you bought tickets for in advance and you've been waiting to see you for a long time. Perfect example when I finally got to see Jane's Addiction after that long break you guys took of like 1 million years. I'm not saying it's bad to drink or party, I'm just saying wait till after the show to get all the way trashed so that you at least remember the show that you paid that much money to see. That's my mom's advice actually. I hate it when she's right, but she's got a point there. But otherwise great advice there Uncle Perry. You should do more of these advice and opinions on kinds of RU-vid videos. You could call them, "Uncle Perry's D/Says Pull His Finger" and you could have another ones where you tell old awesome war stories of being on the road and in bands called, "Uncle Perry's Campfire Stories". Hooray!

I was going to say that their streaming rates will increase after this but then I realise that the video has like 5k views so probably not... But they should increase! One of the best bands of the late 80s and early 90s and probably very underrated today.

He looks kind of weird with all the surgery but I still love the guy. Anyone uninitiated just look up any live Jane's clip from '88-91. they were the best live band ever.

"Stepping into the Fifth Dimension" like Perry said is needed to go onstage and be a shamen might have been what caused him to explode like he did at the last Jane's Addiction show in Boston, which caused the implosion of the show, the tour, the band. Don't underestimate sobriety because performing stoned is way OVERRATED.
