Persian Rice is best in complimenting Koobideh Kabab! My video is giving all the helpful tips to prepare basmati rice in your rice cooker. All you need is good quality rice and some positivity to get pro with your rice cooker!
Ingredients:
1. Extra Long Basmati Rice - 4 cups (rice cooker cup)
2. Salt - 1 tsp
3. Saffron - 2 pinch
4. Bay Leaves - 2 count
5. Green Cardamom - 2 count
6. Star Anise - 1 count
7. Oil - 1/4 cup
8. Butter - 2 tsp
9. Sumak - 2 pinch
Method:
1. Measure 4 cups of your rice with you Rice Cooker’s measuring cup.
2. Wash and soak in normal tap water.
3. Soak saffron in 2 TBSP of hot water.
4. Switch on your rice cooker. Select Saute and Simmer option.
5. Add oil, bay leaf, star anise and green cardamom. Saute for 2 minutes.
6. Add some water and rice. (Water = Rice cup times 1.75 for extra long basmati rice)
7. For 4 cups rice use water up to 6 to 7 labelled mark. (Cups times 1.5 for regular rice).
8. Add salt, stir and change setting to White Rice.
9. Stir when half way through. When water is nearly dry add saffron water and put to steam.
10. When Keep Warm light blinks, your rice are done.
11. Enjoy Koobideh Kabab with Persian Rice.
