That little first one is beautiful close up. Well done. You remind me of so called friends of mine that used to visit our four acres in the hills and say "gee your so lucky" to which my reply would always be "yep the harder I work the luckier I get" which was true. My wife and I had $26 to our names back in 1972 when we got married. I retired at 54 and I'm now 65 but it was darned hard work. Cheers and I hope you find a bucketful.
Gday Chris, What a great story. But your exactly correct, the harder you work the more results you get. Its funny you say that because i want to retire at exactly the same age (I'm aiming for 55)... I might have to find a few more nuggets before that happens haha. Thanks for you comment, all the best. JG
Yet another great video JG. I can only agree with Chris Barrett's comments re the harder you work the luckier you get. You also once told someone to just get out prospecting as much as you can. This has been some good advice to which I have taken up myself. Keep up the great work mate.
This is true, and I't the greatest advice i can give anyone. You just gotta put the time in. Its a bot hard at the moment due to the heat, hopefully the gold is pertinently waiting. Are you getting a few? JG
J Gold I have been getting bits and pieces when i get out. I am finding the more i learn the easier it gets to find yellow. What i am looking to do now is start exploring areas that havent been hammered as much. I dont mind finding junk as it often means there has not been a lot of traffic there. Looking forward to those instructional vids you mentioned. Cheers, Rick
Persistence sure got you the rewards, nice result Jay, Guess your looking forward to a bit cooler weather to make the detecting a little easier. Cheers Peter .
OOHHHH YEAAAAAHH, ya got that right mate, bloody nice find. Yup you just have to keep going to be successful. I remember that feeling well...12" inches down and the detector is screaming, you really cant beat the excitement and anticipation...A BIG congrats mate. cheers, Sean.
Yeah mate, Its an awesome feeling. Especially when its been a bit of a dry spell... Ive had my detector cranked right up lately it seems like the gold is way bigger then it actually is. haha. Oh well, you cant complain with a piece like that every month. Went for a shoot last night and got a nice vixen at about 150m with the .17HMR. Lookin forward to the next bunny busting instalment. Cheers. JG
Thats good shooting, at that range ,with the little 17 pill you have to be dead on to drop them humanely....What brand rifle do you have?...Will be going out tomorrow, I need to get some headshot Bunnies for the pot, cheers. P.S. That always reminds of the Paul Hogan show when you sau Gday Viewers.
Its an Anschutz 1517 .17HMR. Pretty nice rifle. Perfect for my dads farm of 160 acres as he has close-ish neighbours near by. Looking forward to the next vid. JG
Wow, it's very cool, but we go with metal detectors for 15 years, we are looking for black metal every day, we have 2 metal detectors x-terra 305, 1 fischer 75, E-trac, CTX3030, friends, we are tired already
well done. good size and careful extraction. i'm not long back from 11 days. Hard work for only a 0.7g but also lucky to get that. Also got an 1860 penny.
Cheers Mate, Only .7 for 11 days? Well at least you didn't come home empty handed. Still a possibility for more gold there... where there one theres always more. Good luck. JG
Hey J. Nice couple of pineapples, I especially like the little one! I definitely know what those days are like when you dig like a wombat and all you end up with is a lot of holes. I see you still haven't whacked on the 19 for your adventures, are you still going to do the comparison you spoke of a while ago? Anyway great job you sure did earn those couple of pieces. Cheers aar
Gday aar1, yeah it was one of those days. I tried 3 different spots to no avail then lucked out at this sort. I went back and found a few more nuggets which ill upload in a couple of weeks. Ive tried the 19" a few times but its just too bloody heavy, ive dug a few deep targets with it (rubbish) and wasnt overly impressed with the performance. I dont really have many opportunities to use it as most of the spots i detect is quite dense and dragging that big open coil around it a nightmare. Ill try it out next time in some open ground but so far I'm not sold on it. Any way, it on my to do list. Cheers, JG.
