Is there a video for when to reach back out ? I would like to thank them for the interview ! This video was great.. and I will not be quitting if I get the position that’s for sure. I did ask about the full time position. My goals are to get people in the gym, get them motivated, and to keep people coming in and taking care of themselves. Been a coach, and home care aide for elderly people.. this is the job for me ❤
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
I don’t have one on the follow up but I definitely recommend thanking someone for the interview within a day or so!

Golden video! Thank you very much 🤙🏻⚡im suscribed to learn more :) I would really apreciate if you could give us some advice ,i have this doubts 👍🏻😁 1) could you please share us , what more questions could we make to look interested in the job? 2) how can we apply for a job in a gym when the company isnt hiring? 3) and how should we go dressed to an job interview as a personal trainer?
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation 3 года назад
Thanks I’m glad that you found it helpful! For questions you just really need to ask about the training that they do and the clients who are involved. Ask how long their sessions are, ask how many trainers they have on staff, ask the average age of the clients, ask what most clients are interested in goal wise, ask if they have more male or female clients, as how long clients usually do training for, stuff like that. For applying, if they’re not hiring all you can really do is call up and ask someone working or email a manger at the gym. Either option could work. I would dress professional but athletic. I recommend an polo shirt and decent looking pants etc. It’s better to be overdressed than under dressed. I’ll cover this more in an upcoming video.

@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation

In my opinion having that experience training your friends and family members is really useful! That will be enough to get hired in many facilities, assuming that you are certified and interview well.

Would your advice remain the same for a fully remote position? If not, what additional advice would you offer, please? This will be my second career, after having been a mid-level administrative manager in construction and engineering. I’m excited and terrified because, aside from my certifications (CPT & CNC) - I have no real experience. Any advice is welcome. Thank you!
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
Honestly, I don’t have advice for someone who’s going to do a fully remote training job. I don’t have experience with that. I would think you’d want to do many of the same things, but I don’t know. Btw, this interview video is newer and better in my opinion: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8j8aa95WsvA.html

I was given an interview but asked to come in workout clothes for showing exercises on the gym floor. Is that how PT interviews are usually like?
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation 3 года назад
Usually, they’ll do a first interview where they have you do the things that I mentioned in this video today. Usually, they don’t make you do something like that until the second interview. That being said every place is different.

If you have zero experience in personal training where should you start after you get the certification i just turned 18 ive worked out for the past 2 years im out of condition but im working on now ive alway loved learning about nutrition and differ ways ppl work out and how the body funtions and love helping others. I just dont know where to start should i try to entern with another personal trainer
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation 2 года назад
I would start by shadowing trainers at different locations or interning to get an idea of what kind of place you’d like to train in. That should give you some insight into the way the job looks at different types of places (gyms vs studios vs strength gyms, etc).

On how would you help overcome barriers to achieve goals? That varies from client to client and is subjective... So how should we answer this question?
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation 2 года назад
They’re likely to ask you how you’ve helped a client overcome a barrier in the past. So, you’d have to give an example of how you did that. If you’re brand new to being a trainer, they may give you a hypothetical example. Maybe they want you help a client who’s trying to lose weight, but that client wasn’t getting results. To hold them extra accountable and improve their results maybe you would implement weekly weigh ins with the client. There are infinite examples here.
@mhaleronald3190
@mhaleronald3190 Год назад
It would make more sense if u gave answers those questions u mentioned out bcoz I mean the whole point of watch such videos like one u posted is get examples of common questions and how best they can be answered by you answering them yoself
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
What question do you need answered? Btw, this is an older video. This is the newest one on interviews: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8j8aa95WsvA.html

Is it difficult for the older trainer? Do gyms hire 50+ crowd? Just curious.
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation 2 года назад
It depends on where you’re trying to work. If you’re trying to work in a gym with younger people/clients you’ll be at a disadvantage. If you’re trying to work in a gym with an older crowd it won’t work against you though. It could even be an advantage in some spots like that.

Should I expect to perform a practical fitness assessment, or something of that nature?
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation 3 года назад
It’s possible that you might have to do a practice session but many times they’ll have you do that in the second job interview. Usually they’ll say something along the lines of “pretend I am a 40 year old woman who’s focused on weight loss. Train me.” And you’ll have to take them through a pretend training session.
