We often get asked: What does Sorta Healthy mean? Well, we live out our Sorta Healthy lifestyle daily. Our approach to health and fitness is realistic and approachable. We are not bodybuilders or power lifters, though we do a little bit of both. We are not marathon runners or triathlete's, but we do our cardio. We don't eat only vegetables and certainly like some ice cream once in a while.
We hope that you find our content helpful wherever you are in fitness professional journey!
We’ve used Everfit recently as well. Both Trainerize and Everfit are pretty good options. Both come with their own set of pros and cons. We plan on sticking with Trainerize for the time being.
Can I still keep my full time accounting job while working only part time personal training? Or will personal training take all my time? I'm nervous only because I'm not sure if personal training will give me the same income I'm getting being an accountant. How long does it really take to make good money so good that you can kiss your 9-5 job goodbye?
I would definitely keep your full time accounting job and do training part time on the side. One good thing about training is that it makes a great part time side hustle.
Any chance you have an updated video going over this? Prices have gotten crazy the last year or so with online trainers and as a new one myself I am struggling to find a good base rate. For example, I know one individual who does 4 week plans with once a week check ins and 24-48 business hour replies and charges $499 a month. Granted he also has 200k on TikTok.
Also, would you be able to elaborate a bit on the custom nutrition plan example in package 1? I know as personal trainers we can’t “prescribe” meal plans, but are we allowed to give a macronutrient/calorie goal and show examples of foods that would fit this goal?
Just took my exam today and passed and i'll tell you what...i thought i failed...i found that the questions were worded way differently and also felt that some of the questions were not even in the course..maybe so..but definitley not in the practice exam or any of the quizes at the end of the chapters. I was really frustrated during the exam because if i failed...i wouldnt even know how to pass because i felt like 80 percent were not covered in the practice exams. A medium example was a question about levers, it asked which was a class 2. In the practice exams..it never asked me that..only class one levers. But...if you fully understand it, you should be ok. It was not easy. Not much on nutrition, not much on the opt model really either. Lots of questions about hypertension though. This was the exam i took july 3rd 2024.
hi i love your videos you keep it simple i will like if you can make a video about every muscle function and a few exercise fir it and some stretches thanks
Thanks for the support! I’ll do more anatomy videos at some point but probably not for a while. If you haven’t seen them, our current videos on anatomy are pretty useful. Here’s the lower body one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Iu8vkjbhNw0.htmlsi=miy-4M9YTJZEx_C6
I just passed my exam this morning on the first try 🥳 just wanted to say these part 1 and 2 videos helped me so much. I listened to them constantly for like 2 weeks straight and they really helped me understand the material so much better than just reading it from the course. Thank you so much for posting these !!! The exam wasn’t crazy hard but the questions were just worded different. My questions were all over the place with the topics. I studied for about 3 weeks and I was so nervous but I’m so happy it’s done. Good luck to everyone about to take their test. Watch these videos bc they really help so much
Im new to this personal training thing so I wanted to ask, how do you get a gym to allow you to train clients in their facility? Do gyms offer such services to private personal trainers?
Some gyms allow independent trainers to rent space and train clients there. It’s a fairly common setup here in the US. If you google search in your local area you’ll probably find some places that do this model.
Bro I'm definitely loving the videos! I've experienced this myself. I'm trying to convert my one-on-one in-person clients to online virtual training. Many of them just don't want to commit to doing online sessions, after COVID I think people just don't want to sit at the computer anymore they want to see you in person what are your thoughts?
Thank you for making this video! I took NASM-CPT exam a while back and I was worried I was missing out on something by not taking the ACSM course, but it seems like that’s not the case. Kind of disappointed ACSM only gets a C. I thought with it being so prestigious they would get an A or B. Anyway, I appreciate the video.
Thanks for the support! The ACSM info is ok and their reputation is good but ya, their course is mediocre at best. NASM is light years ahead in terms of the actual course, presentation, and resources for the average trainer. I still have some issues with NASM too, but ya that’s where things stand right now.
Wanted to comment here to ensure you’d see my message since this is your most recent upload. Thank you so much for what you do for people. Genuinely. I passed my NASM certification today, and I know it was because of your two NASM CPT exam videos. I read the entire NASM textbook prior to watching your two videos, and it wasn’t until your videos that the information stuck and made so much more sense. You also let me know what to focus on and were correct!! Thank you, thank you, thank you. You’re an angel. So excited to start my new career in personal training!! ❤
Another great video! 🙏 For my clients, I do a similar dynamic warm up to yours. Leg swings while holding onto a wall, usually some light exercises with stretch bands, then compound movements with body weight etc. a natural progression!
@@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation Also as an aside, I have now binge-watched many of your other videos and applied several things I learned just today, now I have two new amazing clients that I feel even more equipped to help. Truly appreciated! Thanks again! 🙏💪
I would say i usually dont swtich the phases until my clients bring it up. I find that if i switch every 8 weeks or so they were just getting comfortable. I usually give it a while and ask them if they would like to swtich up phases. I find this give me more time with the clients
Awesome!!! I think you should do a video on what certifications won't teach you. I've been a trainer for 10 yrs and I think the certifications often don't give enough practical advice

Honestly, I’m not too sure about the Middle East! I did some research but couldn’t find anything too conclusive! If anyone knows, make sure to let us know!
It’s a solid course overall. I definitely recommend it to certain people. I think the reality is that people view the CSCS as the superior certification though. That said, I still think this course could be valuable to many.
What if I have a bachelors in health science of Athletic training and Rehab science, do you think insurance companies would still require me to have the ncca certification or can I go with the open book option.
