I will say the possibility that Kris and Berdly were actually friends and his shittalk was like awkward razzing would be a pretty clever reinforcement of how we do NOT know Kris’ life and that you can just make the command decision to antagonize, injure, or even kill a person Kris has known for some time all the more tragic

I think the sweepstakes was the best thing to happen, full of secret lore, chance to win real life prizes, and it's a charity! And ofc looks like the typical scam website-

26:35 I think I remember reading somewhere that in the Japanese version of Deltarune spamton's line "no stop no please it burns" is a little different in that it specifies that it's his eyes that are burning from a blinding light. This would be worth noting because the Japanese localization is overseen by Toby himself and that line is one of the two that made people think spamton fell in the acid pool in the first place

the sweepstakes made me wonder how someone can make something so low effort, and yet so high effort as well, and with a BROKEN WRIST.....then I remembered its toby fox. And that man's a legend.

Spamton has absolutely climbed up on the comically large toilet at some point, I'm convinced.

Anyone else assumed Noelle has a piano at her house even before the sweepstakes?

The story of Noelle and the mystery egg and the way it's worded makes me wonder if there's something... metatextual, about it. The experiences Noelle has with the egg makes me think it's either some disguised insight into Gaster's backstory or a meta-commentary from Toby speaking through Noelle about him creating Gaster as a character.

Susie voice??? Hello??? That's literally perfect

The Berdley in Noelle's comments part read really differently to me. He had an account with no icon, color, as well as his phone number in his name suggesting he hasn't even been on the site before (and maybe hasn't even spent that much time on the web?). When he asks to be the mod of her blog I'm not sure he even understands what he's asking for, and is just trying to interact with Noelle on a new platform. Then Noelle, trying to be "nice" says no without helping his understanding of the situation at all, just assuming Berdley knows he's doing something wrong when he clearly doesn't. It's behavior I've seen from Noelle a few times that I don't see people talk about.

Gosh I loved the sweepstakes so much! I like how half of the secrets were very goofy, while the other half was super serious, like Susie and Kris's history and Spamton going through a crisis. Idk, I just love the duality of Toby's games lmao. Also one of the few things that (I think) you missed were the pink and yellow eyes that appear when you repeatedly click on the chair. Perhaps Tenna? It's like they don't want us to see something and they also send us back which is weird. Also kind of powerful if they can control where we are. The chair in general is very mysterious too and I really don't know what to make of it

I wonder if in the Susie apple scene (New Girl page) Kris whispers "She already did" as they were adopted by monsters. Although it's not entirely clear what the circumstances were. It's a bit dark but I think it could work. Sort of unsure if Toby plans to get into Kris' backstory in regards to how they ended up becoming a Dreemurr. At least with Chara (I don't think Kris is Chara btw) it was pretty tragic. They didn't intend to find the Kingdom of Monsters when they climbed Mt. Ebott. They hated humanity and never talked about why. This likely implies they experienced some sort of abuse which led them to Mt. Ebott.

Gosh, I remember just obsessing over the website when it first came out. I was analyzing every bit of code and I woke up early that day just so I didn't miss anything (not like I was sleeping well my mind was very distracted). Thanks for posting this, I completely forgot just how awesome this was and was just reminded of this now!

Plus, the "a little shorter than the others" is in brackets, so he could just be metaphorically referring to his wealth. 35:27 It's also creepily fitting, because Spamton gives Kris and Noelle the "gift" of the thornring in snowgrave. 43:42 Wait holy crap I thought it was just a dumb Susie sprite but it fitting in the Greenroom makes so much sense, and it's a great theory for the start of Ch3! Especially since the mouse seems to indicate the Greenroom is in Kris and Asriel's bedroom, so they're literally waking up in the bedroom! 44:17 Yes and no, it's likely a modified version of that snowglobe.

i cant imagine how toby fox is gonna top this. also id love to see you go back to this later like a deep dive, or indepth with the winners and their stuff (the candle smells like soy sauce apparently) or that the prunsel creator won the banana.

The sweepstakes sure was crazy honestly

The sweepstakes was very wild, I think this is a very good recap even though in some things feels outdated, it could be useful as a resume in the future, in case we want to look retrospectively of some details. Also, it is always funny to remember our first impression of this because was kind of unexpected and cool, and crazy at the same time. But in a good way.

I wasn't a kid in the late nineties, only graduating into being a toddler from 1999-2001, but even in the early 00s, when I started being a computer kid, some websites were still like this! I was only able to get the tail end of all the fun "late 90s"(/early 00s) nostalgia. I was unsupervised so I also remember the good 4chan as well as YTMND. I LOVED YTMND. It hosted some of the most popular old internet memes, like the Running in the Nineties (lol internet) Ronald McDonald. Also if you didn't know, in the early 00s the worm on a string was also a gimmick toy, like the Fushigi ball and stuff. At Walmarts and Targets and stuff I'd see like... TV advertisement stands specifically dedicated to the worm on a string. Essentially it was like, "do a cool magic trick by making the worm look like it's moving around in your hands and the worm can do tricks if you master the craft!" Kind of like Tech Decks but... a worm on a string. The pog Spamton also looks kind of like Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff, a Homestuck spinoff(?? it's referenced by the characters and canonically exists in Homestuck, but Hussie also updated it whenever, had its own website and everything so Idk what to call it rly) which also had incredibly heavy JPEG artifacting I had the GBA version of the Petz series, I think it was Dogz? I really like the references to old internet creepy "hidden" media secrets like "if you go to this area in Pokémon Sapphire, something Creepy will happen......" and stuff like Ben Drowned. The candle totally looks like an old Yankee Candle, even in the totle... back from before they switched their candles to looking like Bath & Body Works candles. And omg I love the little suits everyone gets. Maybe [Lyrics Jeanist] could be a reference to uhh. Best Jeanist from MHA? Crackpot idea take it or leave it. I didn't know Pipis was a real restaurant/food (???) I thought it was a reference to the McElroy brother's Vine. Pipis room. I love how Spamton references the MLM/MLM (men who love men + multilevel marketing). confusion with his Businessman Loving Businessman. Lol. Also do you think the computer world being so populated with cats has to do with it being the internet? There was and still is a huge span of time where the internet was/is obsessed with cats. I Can Has Cheezburger, Not Even Doom Music/NEDM, cat videos on RU-vid... Idk might be a thing?? The Spamton robot body... is that a reference to Dirk Strider/Dirk's Brobot? I only recently started binging your stuff so I'm not really sure what your inspirations for your fanwork are... just asking stuff! The fact that the snowglobe is Nightmare Before Christmas is just...super funny. Also the scary plugs look kind of like Chain Chomps to me! I know I just went on a huge rant, sorry! I just really like old internet styled stuff. And references to other internet culture.

(commenting before i watch, I just wanted to say something here) I kinda know what you mean in the title, but i took it more as a compliment. I'm glad the younger generations are even like... remotely interested in the dumb meme's of old internet. especially when you consider like... 5% of people were using it vs. the 95% of people using it now... I won't say it was a total improvement or not, but looking back on those memories gives me a bittersweet feeling knowing they won't ever be replicated for me again, but I'm hopeful someone else will come along and make their own memories that are similar (if that makes any sense). anything other than social media trash fires or telling people off constantly, just some of that good ol' late 90's to early 00's "not taking it seriously" kind of internet. That line about the Knight could have a different meaning depending on when in Deltarune this happened.

I will admit, for a long time I thought the whole “going still” thing was Kris being released from whoever was controlling them (contrary to those saying it was because they were being controlled to play the piano). I say this because they clearly can’t play the piano when we’re controlling them, but maybe what they are “remembering” is their ability to play the piano at all, which is why they play so obsessively afterward: they want to play while they can before we/the person controlling them comes back. It does seem that the piano represents Kris’ agency in some ways. Like in the first chapter, when they are unable to play the hospital piano, the nurse thinks they look a bit sick after, while in chapter 2 they look actively angered as noted by Susie. This, along with Kris being more actively expressive in chapter 2 as well as Lancer’s line that Kris “looks like they don’t care” when picking a team name in chapter 1, tells me that Kris might be gaining more and more of their agency as we play through the chapters. Ok, theory time over
