Thanks for sharing Devin. It seems like you're enjoying life's little things. I really need to learn to relax and use this video you've made to remind me to stop and enjoy the little details that make life beautiful.
AHHH Perth..... Lovely... I cant wait to see Devin perform tonight in fremantle. Ive lived in perth for 22 years, and i'll say this... its one of the greatest most chillaxed places in Australia.
As a dude from the California coast, I really appreciate this video on a weird subprimal level. Like, I can't tell you why I like it. I just really really do.
@Mikuji That actually worked really well! Thanks, man! i also tried it with "Universal" from Terria's bonus disc, and it seems to go nicely as well (if ending a bit early on, though the ambience continues).
Guys - start playing "The Fluke" from Terria when you press play - when the waves start rolling in, it's perfect, and have a listen as the video finishes. Godlike.
'Deep Peace' indeed. I love that there is no music in this clip. The 'Deep Peace' is implied by the images and sounds we get. I really like how you often speed up the footage of people - it says something about how you see things. And yeah, there could be a LOT of metaphor interpreted in this video, and I'm not going to go there, but this is great stuff, Dev!!
As for the dude who said this needed a soundtrack, I totally disagree but see your point man. Sometimes you just need to let Mother Nature take 'er course. And Dev, joke all you want about trying to weed metaphors into this video, it's actually a pretty amazing piece of just being present in a moment. Like a still in time. Wonderful, and by far my favorite of these little video logs you've been doing.
I really liked this one. I can really see how people can get into the surfing beach lifestyle. I dont think i could tho im to fucking angry haha. nice vid man thanks for uploading so often.
jadey1928 - damn, you beat me to it. I was just thinkin the same - that Ocean Machine should've been playing over the top of this vid. Dev - it makes me love you even more watching you roll up your trousers and go paddling in the sea. Sweet!
Perth is always accused of being boring, which is a fair judgement compared to the madness of larger cities in this country (and abroad) but it looks like you, sir poopy, "get it" come back whenever you want. and thanks for the awesome show.
I'll show you the best of beaches and oceans in norway!!! just 2 hours from Oslo... you should come here sometime, Devy!!! oh, and by the way. I'll have my DTP tattoo done sometime very soon ;)
It's 3:30am and I don't know what I did, but I randomly ended up here watching this video(on mute), while coincidentally "Bastard" was playing on my headphones for the whole thing without me even realizing. I think I've been subconsciously been drawn to you tonight, Dev. That just reeks of homosexuality, but I'm loving the experience. It's FABULOUS!!!
Was it your 1st time on the beach Devin? >:D Anyways as you can see earth is not such a bad place, especially without people... so please tell Ziltoid to reconsider destroying our planet!
lol @klonere That was a touching vid by the ultra creative DT. The ocean can suck the cynicism right out of a man forcing him to remove his pants and draw pierced hearts in the sand.
You see, the washing away of the footprints IS just a metaphor for how our time here is pointless and fleeting. It will all be washed away anyway. Also, how insignificant we are.
Commenting because I stumbled across Devvy's video and I don't have a foot fetish. Plenty of other fetishes but don't judge me for that one. Jokes aside lovely part of the world and my word I miss it plus in a different era of RU-vid you could be genuine
Lol, I think we got the hint that you took your pants off when you showed us them on the ground Devin... We didn't need to see your liquid paper coloured skin. Lol. xD
hey dev, thanks so much for coming to Perth.... we all loved the show. Sorry about the shitty sound! that sucked! hope you come again, but dont book metros.... they ruin every show they put on with a bad mix. good to see you enjoying the beach.... beautiful part of the world aye?
