I learned so much watching this. If you read this Mr. Townsend, know that this kind of upload is greatly appreciated from us in the home studio world. GREATLY appreciated from a looooonnng time fan. What percussive delivery Annika has. A great vocal package.
I love checking out these early "in studio" works, and then listening to the kickass final version. It's made me appreciate the work put into this so much more.
God what I would give to have a version of Supercrush! without the main guitar, and with the main vocals turned down a bit. There's so much gold in here that I've never even noticed, despite how much I adore this song. I
I revisit this video after what? 7 years? I still think this is nothing short of genius (forgive me dev). I mean, I have quite an imagination (or that's what I think) but you Dev, are on a whole different level.
I adore those choirs. Especially the ones like 8:03 where they have actual lyrics. You can kinda hear them on the record but never really figure out the entire lines.
Most underrated musician of all time!!! Devin Townsend you are a Musical God walking among mere mortals. Thank you for sharing your ART with Us !!!!!🔥🖤🖤 🤘😖🤘🖤🖤🔥

I can't imagine how much work and know how is possible to make all those parts work together, simply amazing!
It makes you appreciate the music even more (not that i didnt appreciate it before) when you see it broken down. Mr. Townsend, you deserve the Nobel Prize.
Dev, This is such a gift to us who really appreciate your process. Thank you so much! The new Disc is incredible and so moving. See you when you get out on the road here!
the part at 2:20 where you mention that 'a lot of the stuff you don't end up hearing' you do subliminally I think, all those different freq's and things, that's what I've always admired about your music, the knowledge you put out on the Hummer was immense, really opened my eyes.
Holy crap Dev. I just realized Addicted came out today! The moment I get done with classes i'm high tailing it to Manifest Discs and Tapes to get this!
I've seen this video approximately 20 times and I simply love it! A Protool Skool with Kingdom (epicloud) would be absolutely insane! Love your work Devin!
Dave, just amazing....what else can we expect from you? I've been following you since the first SYL record and never everr disappointed me. Simply a genius....like really few.
Mr. Townsend I Just Want It To Say that You´re an amazing artist and you have a Incredible Talent. Keep Rocking, I Hope To See You in Argentina and Southamerica very Soon. Greetings from Argentina Master.
My favorite song - and such a complicated thing. I heared by myself that it is full of sounds, but there's more than meets the... ear - I noticed many of samples just after this video. Thank you, Devin, good luck and more great music!
This was already my favourite song on the album, but I just gained such an increased appreciation for the sheer depth of the production. This is amazing and enlightening.
The many layers of sound that make your anthems come to life... this is a great clip Sir Devy, thanks for uploading it (ps this is my fave track off Addicted too...Bonus!!)
Thats awesome. So inspiring. Makes me realize that in the studio, the song itself means nothing without the little things you add to it here and there. Its stuff that you don't necessarily notice when you're listening unless you're listening for it. Makes a perfect wall of sound, which is something that makes Devin's music unique. Incredible stuff and a great album.
Wow. Just... wow! Dev, you could make any song in the world sound absolutely insane! definitely one of the greatest producers in the world, as well as one of the greatest all-around musicians
Seriously Dev I never even noticed most of this stuff in the song but I have this feeling if they were taken out I'd probably be killing myself trying to figure out what is wrong. Pure awesome.
That's what I admire most about your music Dev, is your ability to layer a song to make it sound like God farting. I bet if you could make a damn good cake (layers always welcome). I can't wait to see you on the 12th of Jan and I also can't wait for Deconstruction. Keep up the good work man.
i just wonder how much time you spent to create each song... its nice to see your point of view in the song wrinting the, complexity of it and the attention to the small details that completely transforms your music. Keep making amazing music and keep making this kind of videos Dev :)
I'd love to watch Dev doing some EQing or mixing from Casualties or Ki. Deconstruction was also a sonic masterpiece, always inspiring to watch or listen to Devin's work
I'd like to see more of these videos... Even though it's hard to hear a lot of the stuff underneath, the track wouldn't sound the same without it all. It's all really awesome.
That was amazing!! Thanks so much for that Dev!! I always wondered how you created that "signature" sound of yours... I never would have guessed there were that many freakin tracks buried in the mix, lol!
Man Dev! I wish you could teach me everything you know! I'm so jealous of your knowledge/skill/talent. :D I love that little melody with the guitar and vocals during the chorus. I always wondered if it was your voice or guitar, now I know it's both.
awesome! I think Devin is a incredible musican and producer as well. And since I try to record and mix music myself, I become more and more interested in als those making of DVD's that came along with records. And new Devin put his stuff up, he's really one of those persons where im the most excitet about, to see how he works! :-) Awesome!
My gaaaaad... You have no idea how ridiculously amazing this is from a producer's point of view. Dev, you really should consider a 5.1 surround-sound version or something so we can actually hear all those tiny details.
I went into my local HMV (UK) today and ordered/bought Ziltoid (bonus DVD). I'll own the next album by next week. I can't wait to drive around town, blasting "Ziltoidia Attaxx" and singing along.
Production wise it sounds like Wintersun with a butt load of different tracks that all come together and overwhelm the listener in a flurry of epicness.
Hey this actually helps us, fans, to find the smallest little "hidden" sounds there! I had had Ocean Machine for at least 2 weeks until i listened it with my friend's home theater system, we was listening Seventh Wave, and I was like holy s.. what the fuck wow when I heard that "Woo-oo-oo-oo-oo" (after "it's was her only chance of finding home" -sentence). Now i hear it everytime also with my crappy stereos!
