And so now the 24/7 base load coal generators are reduced to an idle during the day when solar is supplying to capacity. This loss of earning potential for 12 out of 24 odd hrs per day for these coal generators will require subsidies and incentives to remain viable. AND now theres the new gas generators Bowen says will replace the existing coal plants will require investors that will also baulk at only half of every day having earnings potential and therefore will require subsidising and incentives to be interested. Bowen will have doubled you're power bill before he's finished.
