What a wonderful interview! I was fortunate to see Mr. Barbutti live many years ago. What a fabulous entertainer. Thank you, Mr. Rowe.

An absolutely wonderful interview. Nicely done Monk and Pete. Brings back memories of Roy Rogers, Carson and so much more. The humor is the best. Pete was among the finest comics of that generation and he's still got the timing. I wonder if Pete would do a master class on broom. Sign me up!

He should write a book. His recollections about being a road warrior and playing in all those clubs are hilarious and priceless. And he truly has carved out a unique niche for himself Thank you for this great interview

Big fan of Pete for a long time. When I was in the Las Vegas Comedy Festival in the early 00’s, we did a mock tonight show with Pete hosting and interviewing us. So clever and funny in all the right ways.

Worked in Vegas in some house band with Pete. Great. The broom with the harmon mute-hilarious. Also David Brenner. Great to see him again.

WOW... loved this, Pete is the best... funny, interesting, and a killer musician. Just a weird anecdote I'd like to mention here- Pete speaks well of Shecky Greene, and he speaks of Chuck DiLaura, a great Lake Tahoe bassist. I have hung out a little with Chuck, and I'm a bassist as well. I live and work in Reno and Lake Tahoe. I also am a string bass Luthier. I've done some work for Chuck, on his wonderful 7/8 size Juzek bass. There is an old repaired crack all the way up the top of the bass... I asked him how that happened- I swear, this is amazing... he said, "Oh, Shecky Greene kicked the top in by accident!" I haven't seen Chuck in a long time.. I think he may be retired now. He sure played great. I have some former Tahoe band mates that have worked with Pete... the consensus is he's a truly great entertainer and a good guy. Thanks for the music, and the humor, Pete. God Bless you.

Love Pete! I appreciate that he came and talked to me when I was playing "4th trumpet" in Mike Vax Big Band. I did not know who he was, but he was asking questions about my flugelhorn and other trumpet related things. Later on I saw him do stand up and MC work for the show and I later asked who he is. Since then I looked up many videos online about Pete and shared with others. Love the Man!

Hello Pete! This interview's made my Christmas holiday brighter! So glad to see you again - after meeting years ago on John Davidson's yacht in Catalina! I always tell people that you're the person who turned me on to...Haagendaas Ice cream - as it was while on Principia - at your recommendation- that I first tasted that delicious Coffee ice cream! I've got great photos - but can't share here.

I appeared on a game show with Mr Barbutti in the late 80s - I won the show and during the wind-down I asked him a silly question - and he called me a f___ing a__hole!! can you believe it?? ME!! I was never so proud… for winning the show (which was very easy) I won a $500 gift certificate to a fancy little ladies dress shop, a mug with the show’s name on it, and a piece of sausage the handle of the mug broke after a couple of months; I had to throw the sausage out because it hadn’t been refrigerated properly, and the gift certificate cost me an extra $500 because my girlfriend wanted some jewelry to go along with the dress she picked out from the fancy dress shop - that closed a week after we picked up the dress - had we taken an extra week to visit that shop, the gift certificate would have been worthless…..

Where can I get into contact with Pete? I'm writing a book on Will Osborne, who Pete played with as talked about in here. Seems only his 50s sidemen are the only ones still alive. Looking desperately for them!
