Rick On boomer1954, I turned 71 Jan 8 2024 Still turning up the volume to these Rock'n songs, no complaints yet from apartment neighbors, still early at 8:45p.m. Feb 28 2024 ROCK ON
This track should have been called "Bell bottom blues" given the immense flared satin white trousers Pete is wearing. ;-). We all wore flares and platform soled shoes back in the day... it seemed to fit the rock music of the day.
It was great music years in that era man this is the old video of Peter Frampton when you know I love this video I'm so thankful that RU-vid is putting all these great music videos classic rock videos Man I love it and I love classic rock 🎵🎸🎵🎸🎸🎸🎵🎶🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵✌️✌️🕊️🕊️🕊️❤❤❤ peace love and music✌️✌️✌️🕊️
There is the old adage that " Framptom comes alive " album was mailed to everyone in the country and we all had it ...well we did all have it but we paid for it like everyone else ..lol ,,Great days .
Peter Frampton was one of many artists that I enjoyed when I came back from Vietnam. I appreciate all the great music that I had during the 70s. Glad to be alive still at 68.
In 1976, I was 12 years old, I cried at night because i wanted to marry him one day! Then, at 24..I worked at A&M. When I found out he was coming in the office that day, I started to shake, I couldn’t believe it! His pic was on my office wall, my childhood idol!! It took me right back to those tween years! I got to meet him that day, and took a picture with him! He will forever be in my heart and soul! Best day ever!!!!
I loved Peter Frampton. This song is one of the greatest songs back then. I want to go back in time and take my daughter and grandchildren. When, times were more peaceful. Kids could be kids and have fun outside and not worry about getting picked up and we had fun playing outside not video games . Memories, take me back
POR ESO SIEMPRE LES DIGO QUE ME QUEDÉ ATRAPADA EN LOS 70s y 80s. 🎵🎶🎵LOS MEJORES AÑOS ROCKEROS🎵🎶🎵 TENGO 75 AÑOS Y SON LOS MEJORES RECUERDOS DE LA MÚSICA QUE NUNCA PASARÁ DE MODA‼️🌺♥️🌺
He's just a 27 year old kid here. The talent of musicians in this (my generation) generation is mind boggling. Literally the best time in music and so glad I was there to witness it in all it's glory!
When did you graduate H.S.? I did in 1985 and I swear that every couple months another monster album was released! From Judas Priest to Dire Straits to Joe Walsh, Van Halen and so many more.
This is the same Concert Skynyrd played. They played 'Freebird' during their set and it was great. Their stage decor was the best I've ever seen. Even compared to today. They had George Washington and Thomas Jefferson on each side of a gigantic Rebel Flag. This audience is so into the show. I would have been too. I love long, extended versions of great guitar playing. This is a video I've watched many times along with 'Freebird.' Their guitar playing was magnificent as well. This show was July 2, 1977; 3 months before Skynyrds tragic plane crash. RIP. I wish I was a teenager in the 70s. What a genius time for music. If you were a teenager in the 70s I envy you.
I remember being eleven years old, and my big brother played this song for me, and I was in tears at the end. My brother asked me why I was crying. "Because I feel like he does!" I answered.
I was at this concert 11:09 & 24:10, same concert as Lynryd Skynyrd, tragically only 3 months before we lost Ronnie, Steve & Cassie in the horrible plane crash 😭 That was the BEST concert I'd ever been to...EVER!!! Loved those Days on the Green!!! Thank you Bill Graham (RIP🙏) & all the great artists!!! Both Peter Frampton & Lynryd Skynyrd totally ROCKED that sold out coliseum!!! I wouldn’t trade that day...any of those days for anything!!!
Yeah. Great concert and that song makes it greater. You''re one of the lucky ones. The weather looks very hot. How many passed out because of the heat?
This is killer to watch!!!! It amazes me as how controlled the cross were back then. Different world...we were free from phones and people just partied! Good times!!!!!!❤️🎶🎶
I never knew that life I’ve survived quite ok. Music is therapeutic 😊😊😊😊😊 meaning sans computerized ] That generation was fun free and ….no I missed a lot of these concerts I’m seeing online….I had all these fab albums! Kindness of peeps to upload this great content!
Peter was and still is simply an extraordinary person and musician. It is quite difficult as you may imagine playing a song as long as these guys did that day. They didn't miss a single beat. Peter has a very special way of connecting with his fans. I am in awe! It was also great to see Peter on drums.
I love the 70's, 80's and some of the 90's music and listen to it daily. Times change but I have found some great rock music on here purely by accident kind of how I discovered some great new bands (at the time) in a record store based on the artwork on their album covers and took a monetary gamble (of which I had very little as a kid) I have found that since I stopped thinking that no good music was made after say 1996 and started looking for it that I have found it (and it's free) we have to stop being so close minded and negative in our old age and put some effort into finding newer stuff because it's out there as long as you put forth some effort and positive attitude.
I was there. In 79 I was on the field high fiving Bon Scott while Angus was on his back shredding. A moment I will never forget. You are so right though. We took the incredible talent these people had for granted. Don't think we'll ever see it again.
The cocaine habit was strong in this one. Peter Frampton Details Drug Abuse During Career: ‘It was Criminal’. Peter Frampton’s Drug Abuse at Peak Frampton explains in the interview that he’s since taken responsibility for relying on the wrong people. Besides being lied to, his manager also ripped him off and left him bankrupt. But the guitarist was always clueless due to being fed hard drugs constantly. “I was kept away from those things,” Frampton said. “I was kept high. If I needed weed, he made sure I had weed. If I needed cocaine, he made sure I had cocaine. He didn’t want me thinking about what was going on.
Hey i was there!! DAMN that was a long time ago! I was 17. I'll never forget that show or any of the other hundreds of concerts I've seen. They may be a bit fuzzy cuz i was always high, but I'll never forget. I saw soooo many shows back in the day. Even now
Yep, me too. We got there at 4:00 am to lean on the green fence in front. I am trying to remember if I made it through the entire concert in front. If I recall, it was crazy hot.
Hell yeah baby, IT STILL ROCKS I WAS 12 WHEN IT CAME OUT ROCKED THEN AN STILL DOES TODAY.. WHEN MUSIC WAS REAL!!! WE WERE LUCKY TO HIT THE BEST MUSIC ERA EVER 70s ROCK
Same! I was 17 in 1976 and Frampton was the BOMB. It was practically a law that every high school kid had to own this album. I can’t imagine the amounts of stems and seeds I sifted through on the album cover 😅. I’m 65 and still lovin’ this.
Alot of people don't realize how good of a guitarist Peter was. The seventies had alot of great guitarists and I think many people didn't give him the respect he deserves.
@@JimLaughlan I saw all but Jimi. My favorite. But Frampton to me was way better then Clapton. I saw him at a time he still was in shock over Jimi. His best work to me was definitely Cream. Anyway there’s no wrong or right. It’s whatever makes people feel good.
I recorded these at the Tower theater near my home. It for some reason plays twice. Rush does 2112. 1976. Journey was before Perry on vocal. It’s one Schon sang. And Frampton Lines on my face. He is truly a great guitarist. My favorite was HUMBLE PIE Music from him. But I enjoyed some of the solo stuff. You’re right. His tone was so good. Schon also. They both played through Leslie cabinets then. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5_sFwv3mG08.html
ABSOLUTELY. Inwas an 80s late teen. Dob 67. So loved the 70s and 80s. Too bad commercial producers fkd it up. See Tom Mc Donald. Hes fkn up all the producers. Why. Its just him his GF and a couple buds. Their rockin the hell out.of massaging
That's easy most musicians today usually don't know more than three or four chord changes and other shortcomings unlike the musicians we grew up with example the much underrated guitarist Peter Frampton.
Still listening to this man and his guitar masterpiece @ 61yo and its 2023 Love it. One of the only talented people \men that can make that guitar talk baby.ROCK ON
Capri Blue I too feel like you do and everyone who got the blessing to experience the 70s. A remarkable era in time. OLD SCHOOL my friend!!!! March 18, 2024.
That year, Frampton was the only rock band in the world. No one could compete with his level of success. Seeing him live was THE concert you would never forget.
I was lucky enough to see Peter's "Frampton Comes Alive" tour that summer, Gary Wright opened, it was amazing and it gives me chills to see this video today.
@@markmottershead646 Exactly Peter Frampton was good a bit too processed. I saw Led Zeppelin at Oakland Coliseum 1977 not many of us left by the time they came on stage. Bill Graham security and Jimmy got into it cost us concert goers nearly 3 hours in the hot sun, but they were spectacular. I do believe it was their last US concert. They played as a full band .
My 11yr old grandson just discovered the talk box ( like it was a new thing) and I had to show him this video. Wish we still had music like this the mid to late 70's were an awesome time to be a teenager!!!

Day on the Green Oakland Coli. I was in Jr High living in Stockton an hour away. Wasn't sure what all the excitement was about. Chicks were all talking about how cool Frampton was. I was full into disco so yeah a disco- nect.
That's pretty cool my friend i was born im 1973 and im very glad my parents raised me around this good old music the music today stinks the music back then when i was born will never get old i love the old music and i love peter Frampton i still got one of his original records when my dad passed away he left it to me do you feel like i do i still play it all the time
That's Awesome you were there! I get lost in his music. I also love 80's. 70's & 80's are my favorite kinds of music. Skynyrd..I've seen so many times through the 80's I lost count but still have a few T- shirts.
@@TerryLongstreathI was there in Tulsa too ‘76. We could bring in ice chests full of food~drinks, blankets. Aww the good ole days! A guy was walking around taking pics of me and my friends, would love to see them now! Santana~Gary Wright opened, fabulous show!!! 😻
@@debbietodd1327 you remember how the eagles sounded? Or anything about the eagles? No information or video of course from them. Not sure if they even recorded it for their own personal archive
Yeah it was a sold out concert, Outlaws came out first an said, How ya'll doing! We just had a bottle of Jack Daniel's for breakfast, that's rock an roll baby
@@debbietodd1327 My wife & I were there, I was stationed at Moffit Field. It was the best concert we've been to, as far as the line up, and talent! We were 17 & 19 at the time. Oh to be young! Lol
I was about 17 when this song came out .I loved riding around late at night listening to this and all the other songs .Great job by all of You .I'm 66 now and I still love it .
I saw Peter do this song at the L.A. Forum in 1977. Frampton played a guitar solo, then a piano solo, then a drum solo in the same song… a 30 minute version of this song….AMAZING
Hey, I saw him at the same concert. I played that album till I wore it out, even had a poster of the cover. Pinned it up next to Robert Plant. Oh those fun days!
High School days for me when this was first released. Frampton was playing on the radio in the car as me and my family were heading to Baltimore to visit relatives. My oldest brother woke me up and I have loved this song ever since then.
What a lineup. Frampton, Bob Mayo, Stanley Sheldon & John Siomos. Top notch musicians and top notch chicks in that crowd. Nothing better than the 70’s.
Skynyrd fronted this. Blew Franpton's ass off the stage. It was pathetic. Skynyrd tore ass. Frampton goofed off and bowed down. He knew who ran this show.
@@petezereeeah That's a dam odd statement to make. You hate Frampton that much? Of course the headliner runs the show. Don't mean Frampton didn't rock his ass off. Chill out on the hate. Here's context on the show en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_on_the_Green#1977
Saw him at 3 river stadium in Pittsburg back in 1976. His performed with the beach boys and Gary Wright. A month later I returned to see Fleetwood mac, the eagles and boz skaggs. A great memory.
Jessi Perkins, Why? Because he is a "flawed" human being, just like you and me? No one is perfect. I bet you can be an asshole too... when you want to be.
Cruising around town, with a doobie and a cold beer, boyfriend' s arm around my shoulders, and this track from Frampton Comes Alive on the local FM station: Damn, life was good!
I remember the 70 in my younger years driving my car no seat belt drinking beer in your car long hair best days of my life and all the group real music and real singing thanks
Yep, that's when Talent was real!!! What can I say...,those were the best years of my life, Whoa, thanks to real true musicians with awesome lyrics and music 🎶 so many of us were able to 😉 enjoy! Thank you all !
That song will never get old. I’m 50 grew up in the 70’s. We liked at Palm Park apartments and my dad jammed that song on a Kenwood turntable stereo. The 70’s were the absolute best
Hmm, I'm two years older than you and I don't even say that I "grew up" in the 70s as I was merely a boy. You were only eight when 1980 dawned. You "grew up" in the 80s like I did.
Man, look at the freaking crowd!! People must have been so uncivil. There’s no way a crowd like that would be safe. Today remember getting the album in 3rd grade and till this day it still lights me up and the hairs on My neck . That’s the feeling and amazes I still Love this song. I would see him later on 3 different times . I love you like a bro Peter Feamptonb
This was the glorious Bay Area concert scene of the 1970s. I thank God I got to experience it with the various Day on the Green concerts. The crowds were golden and sun-kissed. The Oakland that is now is an unapproachable crime-infested hellhole. We will never see this music scene again in Oakland. 😞
His drum playing in the middle of the song is a testament to his talent and amazing sense of rhythm, timing and composition. Love me some Frampton! One of the best guitarists and showmen I've ever had the pleasure of seeing live!
Day on the Green concerts at Oakland Coliseum in California were huge events, tickets were cheap affordable... i was the designated driver since i did not party, we all piled on top of each other (5 in back, 3 in front) in my dads green Thunderbird and spent the entire day at the concert Love, love loved it
My first concert i ever attended was Peter Frampton and Gary Wright 1976 at the Warehouse in New Orleans! I was 15 yrs old. 50 years later i still play this song while grilling on the pool deck! Long live Frampton!
Me Too!! Wearing red "dittos" pants, 8 inch cork platform shoes, Navy and white gingham halter top. Hair parted down the middle and half way down my back! Those were the "Day on the Green" concerts at the Oakland Coliseum. I saw so many bands (Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Led Zeppelin, Winter Brothers, Journey, Triumph, Steve Miller Band and all the ones listed below) @ those concerts. I went to almost every "Day on the Green...there were many others more then just these. Those were the days!! I am so greatful I got to go to all these awesome concerts!! And to raise my son on all this good music! He is 27 now and is a musician, and prefers the old stuff! This was the line-up for that series: Day on the Green - Wikipedia 1977. Day On The Green #1: Fleetwood Mac, Doobie Brothers, Gary Wright, (May 7, 1977). Day On The Green #2 & 3: Eagles, Steve Miller Band, Heart, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Foreigner (May 28 & 30, 1977). Day On The Green #4 & 5: Peter Frampton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Santana, Outlaws (July 2 & 4, 1977).
I was there. High as a kite with friends all around me everywhere. What an incredibly beautiful day. One of the best in my life! It was called "Day on the Green" . Oakland Coliseum
@@brinkybrinkz ***I'm thinkin "Best Live" song-My pick="Dazed & Confused" The Song Remains The Same. I got a chance to see that LIVE @ DOGs #6 & 7 - 6/23-24 1977!***
@@brinkybrinkz Stimmt was du schreibst. 🌅
Back when there was great music and life ..not like now ..young will never know what it used yo be like ..life in general ..free and happy .. From Australia 🦘🦘🦘
@Ray Fabris ***I was at this show AND the Scorps/Y&T/Metallica too!***I probably went to AT LEAST 10 Day On The Green concerts. THE BEST was ZEPPELIN for 2 days in a ROW July 23 & 24 1977 (Zep's LAST US shows EVER)!!!***
Just this week I brought all my concert stubs to a local frame shop to have them framed and giving to my 31 year old son for his Birthday March 21, 2020, A lot of concerts back in the great 70's, I think I have like 35 of them. would not trade those great years for nothing.
I was 15 and on vacation in the states that summer. You could turn the wheel on the radio as long you wanted. Peter Frampton was everywhere. That summer of '77 was truely magical! I will never forget.
That is amazing live footage.. the camera working at the end with him on stage right there is something to say. I saw Peter Frampton in OAKLAND and may the Shell. If not, it is 78.. you know I’m 65 now but I’m pretty sure it was this show. It was amazing.. before Peter Frampton Lynyrd Skynyrd.. there was a number of shows that Day, Day on the Green. Those were the days.
Dammit i miss the 70's had great times at the Oakland coliseum. I didn't even smoke cigarettes or pot but just walking across the field got me high some. And love all those Day Of The Green concerts just awesome.
1976 AND 1977. I caught his show three times. "FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE" SOLD MILLIONS OF ALBUMS. The 1970's was a MAJOR BREAK THROUGH for ROCK MUSIC. The shows were awesome. The U.S. and England provided a plethora of memorable tunes. Wookstock kicked things off in 1969.
