Here’s the story about how I first met George Harrison, and why I felt “Isn’t It A Pity” was the perfect song to pay tribute to him with. #FramptonForgetsTheWords out now! peterframpton....
@@peterkennethframpton3789 much love Peter. Thank you so much for helping me appreciate amazing, genius guitar work back in the summer of 76 when I was 10 and I got goosebumps hearing Do You Feel Like We Do.

When hearing this as an instrumental, you hear how melodically beautiful this song is, so many countre melodies which george, peter and eric do so well.
What a wonderful memory! Thank you for sharing it with us. I was flying back from Hawaii many years ago and was lucky enough to be in first class. A few rows behind me I glanced at a man and our eyes met. It was George. If I hadn’t been sitting down I might’ve fainted. It gave me bear bumps!

I was with Judy Collins' kid sister the first time I heard this song; in fact all of 'All Things Must Pass', including 'My Sweet Lord'. This was 1971 at a boarding school in New Hampshire. At the time, Judy Collins was on tour in support of her version of 'Amazing Grace'. Seven years later, Jon 'JD' Dworkow (and Joey Virsing) retrieved a lost and stolen Les Paul for my now late older brother. He had just released an album on A&M records at the time, and was about to go on tour with Aerosmith. Ah, Mr. Frampton, Sgt. Peppers was almost your fall from grace. Yes, that would have been a pity!
I did not know at the time I first heard the track, that vocals existed for the song. I sat one night and wrote lyrics for the track. About Child Abuse Awareness. I still have the lyrics, but know better today. I agree, very emotional track. Love it. One of the greatest pieces of work.
Great story Peter. So cool how musicans get gitty over other artists. Who won't!!? Especially George Harrison. Or you too! I've always loved this song.

Awesome story, playing with both Harrison and Stills! I really love your rendition of "Isn't it a Pity", best I've heard since George played it himself!
I've never gotten around to listening to the soundtrack to the movie version of 'Sgt. Pepper's'; that is, until today, for today (July 21st., 1978) is the 45th. anniversary of it's release. The first time I ever heard Sgt. Pepper's (the original album), I was at the home of one Jon 'JD' Dworkow. 'JD' sent me a photo by e-mail recently: It us as kids; I'm standing at the mic singing, 'JD' is playing a guitar. So, today, since this is a red letter day in the life of Mr. Frampton, I decided to listen to his rendition of 'With A Little Help From My Friends'. "What would you do if I sang out a tune, would you stand up and walk out on me. Lend me your ear and I'll sing you a song and I'll try not to sing out of key-." That reminds me: The first time I ever heard "Isn't It A Pity" from 'All Things Must Pass', I was with Judy Collins' kid sister. Her sister Judy is perhaps most famous for her version of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now", and for being the inspiration for CSN's "Suite Judy Blue Eyes", but she also had a hit version of John Lennon's "In My Life".

Thank you for sharing your very personal experience. Also thank you for bringing yesterday into today, but also for bringing about the evolution of music with the changing times.

I was sitting around with some cats I'd Jammed with having a Pint... as usual, I started naming off some of my musical inspirations and I got Star-Eyed just imagining meeting my heros. The two other Artists were looking at me like a bit of a tool and explained if they met their heros they wouldn't bat an eye. Thanks for proving me right Mr. Frampton 😉
Desperate to see you again in St. Augustine, Peter. Hope your health is holding up spectacularly! (Don’t book Daily’s in Jacksonville if you do any smaller venues.)
That sounds amazing. I think everyone in the world is, or should, be jealous. You met a lot more than just a Beatle. But then, who could ever be as big a star as Peter. Is that story in your book?

@@oldbandguy Oh.. Ok. Now I get it... Lol.. I've been a fan since Frampton(the black album before fca). But haven't gotten this one. I miss seeing him perform! But understand with his health issues...
Mr. Frampton, please forgive me... I am a wretched guitarist and an awful person. A couple of years ago I confessed that I can't come close to playing like you; but the fact that I had more hair remaining on my head since 1995 was somehow a win for me. I'd trade every follicle forever to be able to play like you. Peace. 😁👍
