I'm seeing him in Philly tonight. I've basically seen him on every tour since the So tour in 1987. Hope this lives up to shows of the past. A Peter Gabriel concert is a religious experience.

I got to see Peter Gabriel twice in the early days. The first time was after his second album release and had tickets in the very last row at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. Didn't know, but during that tour, Peter made his way to the stage from the back of the arena. Getting close to the start of the show there was a commotion at the left side of where I was seated at. I look over, and Peter was making his way through my section, then to the center isle, to make his way towards the stage. I had to stand up, cause Perter walked right in front of me. Pretty cool!

His orange vest. He was right at our section entrance and Levin next over. What a night. Ottawa was the first venue I saw this tour, boy did he rock it. There was only like 3k people there. Was very intimate. 1st tour he did 3 lamb songs

Same 78' Tour for me. My first time seeing Peter Gabriel. Teddy (Bear), upstage, along with Pete in Tow, Pete beckoned Friends for Teddy. Pete held a Search Light looking for said Friends. Casting the Light into the Crowd. Said Friends appeared behind us, also with Handheld Searchlights, slowly heading to the Stage, as On The Air's Frippertronics increased in Volume.

I've seen Gabriel numerous times in all different sized venues indoors and outdoors. He has always put on a great show. Wish he was touring near South Carolina. Glad you had yhe opportunity to see him. Steve Hackett playing in Charleston, SC in October. I will be there!!

I saw him in 82 with Levin, Rhodes, Fast and Moratta in Michigan. Again in 2004 with Levin, Rhodes and several others including his daughter Melanie. Setlists include all the setting for all the instruments. 2004 was my wifes first Gabriel show and she loved it - both his personality and the visual elements. I think he closed with Biko in 82. Glad you enjoyed it.

I'm seeing Peter next week in Pittsburgh and taking my 29 year old son (who is an amazing musician). I first saw Peter in 1979 and during one song he snuck off the stage and sang the song from the stands. Row U at the Stanley Theatre. Right next to me and my friend! Unforgettable. The second time was 1981 and he entered the stage as part of a parade with him playing a giant bass drum! Thanks for the review I am so excited!

Was Tony Levin on bass?

Fantastic! The first Peter show is very special. I don’t care if it was over 40 years ago or last week. Can’t wait to hear the new stuff live. Great video. Thank you for sharing! I’ll never understand people leaving anything early. Concerts or sporting events.

Glad you went and enjoyed it. There's no one like him, so you saw a very special show. Cheers!

Looking forward to Monday October 16 and seeing my first Peter Gabriel concert! And I will stay for all the encores, thanks. I saw Phil with Genesis in 1978 and it was the best concert of my life. This concert I am sure will be great!

I'm seeing Peter on Monday at Madison Square Garden. My fifth time seeing Peter! I think the new set looks gorgeous and I'm very excited. First time I saw him was when he joined his former bandmates for the encore at the Genesis "And Then There Were Three" tour at MSG. First time seeing his solo band was the "Shock the Monkey" tour at the Ritz in NYC - when the band shocked everyone by entering through the audience, playing their instruments remotely (which was a new innovation at the time). The I've seen him two more times at MSG. It's always an amazing event. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I can't imagine anyone leaving before Biko. Counting it down!

Wow, last night's show in NYC was incredible. Loved all the new music in concert - much more than I did listening on RU-vid. Having the full sound makes such a difference. Ayanna Witter-Johnson's cello and vocals are both smooth and powerful. The Garden was packed, and it looked like everyone stayed to the end. Not sure why your Ottawans split early - long ride home? But the show was strong right to the end.

Flew out from Van to see him in Toronto. He's playing Van as well but i work out of town so would have missed it. I'm obviously a huge Genesis and Gabriel fan. My wife of 5 years came along as well and was quite indifferent and not expecting to be entertained as she never paid Peter much attention over the years. By mid show she was crying. This continued till the end of Biko. She turned to me and said now I understand I love him now. I think that there will be many out there who will be affected this way by the I/O tour. He's saved the best for last..

Beautiful story. Happy for your wife. His art makes this place a better place and our hearts a little more open. I mean this with the most respect, but he was just being PG. Saw two shows from this tour and I have seen 20 plus plus over the last 46 years and he always leaves it all on the stage. And, I always am exhausted, too. His artistry and vision uniquely PG. Has to be. Incredible band. Unforgettable nights. We may head out west to catch one more show. Haha😂

I’ve been a fan since 2005. I hadn’t experience a new release from him and I love it.

I've seen him and Genesis in concert since 1976. Peter always plays most of his new songs at his concerts, even dating back to the Lamb tour with Genesis where they played the entire double album in NA even before the album was in stores.

going to be seeing him soon in october so i was happy to see that you posted this. honestly, i'm quite excited about the setlist. i like his newer stuff and considering he's performed the older songs so many times at this point, he's probably at his best when he's doing songs that he's passionate about. with that said, i obviously look forward to hearing the classics as well. also i'm gonna be on the floor pretty close to the stage so i'm feeling pretty lucky about that lol. on the other hand, if you were saying that you were one of the youngest there... idk what its gonna be like for me at 19 lol. also playing for time a snoozer!?!? 😭 that song is beautiful 😄

I had tickets to see Peter Gabriel here in San Francisco last week, but I got a stomach infection the night before. I couldn't go. Thanks for the review. However, I've been to several of his concerts over the years starting in the early 80's. I'm seeing Steve Hackett and his band perform the entire Foxtrot album (including Suppers ready) next month in Monterey California.

I can finally see this now that I saw PG a couple days ago! So glad you enjoyed it, Ryan. I brought my son and we had a great time. We got lucky and they played an extra song in the first encore, The Tower That Ate People, which they only played one other time this tour. My highlight for the evening was Digging in the Dirt - it was just bangin' and made me emotional.

Hey Ryan, so glad you got to see the live show. I have been following your whole RU-vid history of Genesis and Peter Gabriel, so I can imagine how much it meant to you. I have seen him three times, once around the time of SO, once about 10 years ago, and now the latest one. I think the lights and screens were the best I have ever seen at any live show. Such a brilliant production! 😎😎

Glad you got to finally see Peter live. I've seen Peter every tour since 1986 when he's played in L.A. I'm passing on seeing him this time however, I know he's played his older songs so many times that he wants to play his new stuff.I just haven't connected to his I/O stuff like I did with his classic tunes. I'm so glad I saw him at his peak, not that he doesn't still sound great but his stage performances in the past was something special. John

Don’t sleep on his current tour. I feel bad that he’s not getting love for his new album. I think it’s a amazing

Great review PG doesn’t do a Vegas show. He won’t play just the hits.

The Ottawa crowd thing/leaving. Meh. Always been that way. I lived in Quebec, but Ottawa (and Montreal) was my town of my youth - mid 70, early 80. Montreal they just kept singing. Bars afterwords has PG/Genesis, etc. Toronto was a little flat, but he got the crowd going. Hard place for PG sound. Thx for the review. I will check into your channel more. ❤

Only thing I don’t agree is that This is Home is a snoozer. That’s my favorite song in the new album and it was amazing live song. Road to Joy was the snoozer, even though I love it in the album.

IMO This Is Home isn't so good on the album, but the live version gave it some needed energy.

The newer generations probably wont have any of their favorites to go see when they are old. Maybe in a small club

Peter Gabriel is the only male artist I'd pay to see. Kate Bush and SADE the female artists.
