This song always makes me feel connected to humanity for some reason, Like I'm seeing the big picture for a second or two. I'm glad to see beautiful young people reacting to my generations music.
It's sooo refreshing that you aren't stoping every ten seconds to talk over it. If you enjoyed this, you should watch the whole Secret World concert, from which this is taken.
It's a rare feat to make a song even better in concert. I like that he doesn't feel the need to be the center of attention he allows everyone to have their moment. This is pure joy.
I am 64 years old ,I was in one of that concerts , it was amazing impressive concert. U seems to enjoy that video,I like to see your expression....I wish , I could take u to that concert haha ha ha. Greeting from Jakarta Indonesia
The joy on your face has made my day. As a percussionist the African rhythms really kick this song along. It actually moved me to tears..... embarrassing for a 60 year old Englishman. ✌️♥️🇬🇧
Your smile, happiness, excitement, spirit, and joy was radiant, and full of love. It was wonderful watching you react to this song. You have the most stunningly beautiful smile that I have ever seen.I pray that some day, this is what our world could be. That we could sing and dance and rejoice together. Heaven. ✌️💐❤️ to you, beautiful, smiling, dancing sister.
That was the most beautiful piece of I've heard in a long long time and I listen to all types of music it touched me so much I was crying with joy that was fabulous
This how I see how we should be no gender discrimination or color just human . Checkout also Peter Gabriel's Biko it's one the most powerful songs I have ever heard.
Gracie- love your reaction to this song. I don't know if anyone else had suggested to you already but if you get a chance - try to listen to and watch concert versions of 2 other Peter Gabriel songs- 'San Jacinto' which was inspired by a conversation that Gabriel had one night with a young man working in a hotel that Gabriel was staying at. The young man was of Native American ancestry and He told Gabriel about an experience that he had while going through a vision quest. The other Gabriel song that you should check out-particularly a live concert version is His 1980 song 'Biko' that was written about the death of South African anit-Aparthaid activist Steven Biko. It's a powerful protest song.
I have never in my 48 years seen the color blue look so beautiful on anything or anyone. Your smile and raw enthusiasm while listening and watching this video made the rest of my day so much better.
The guy with the deep voice is Yousou'NDour from Senegal. Peter did a lot of campaigning and work for African rights, and once received death threats because of it. He's an angel and a legend. Used to be with Genesis🎶💙✊
Yuo very cool mamacita=honey!. It's amazing!. The song and concert espectacular in the all around the world in histori musical forever!!.. Peter Gabriel is the genius!!.
Got another subscriber. Don’t ask me why. It was in YOUR beautiful eyes. (That’s not a come on. I’m an old 58 retired Marine but seeing the joy in your eyes, while the tears fall from mine (who grew-up on Peter G) that did it. May your channel grow and bring you much happiness. (As it just did me) ❤️👍
You felt every note of this song, every bit of joy that it offered. A genuine reaction. I've listened/watched this song/video hundreds of times, never gets old, never a dry eye. Be well, young beauty. /M.
Peter Gabriel went to Northern Africa to study the traditional sounds in order to make the sound track for Last Temptation of Christ. The entirety of the music created was produced solely from instruments used at that time, over 2,000 years ago. However, being there he became infatuated by African percussion style and rhythm, how it was created and how unique it was from American and European music. Then he became enrapt by the political situation in South Africa, how could he not, and wrote a song memorializing Stephen Biko. He went to Africa to produce music for a movie and I think in a way, he's still there in spirit. You can still see the influence in his present compositions. He also has had a hand in many non-profits empowering those who have been so inhumanely for so long. He helped get video cameras to people so they could document some of the atrocities so those that oppress could credibility in their denial. He cofounded WOMAD. You might look them up. They promote artists who would otherwise receive very little exposure.
To feel music so deep is a rare gift. I don't believe it would be as rare if people could let go of the day to day issues and the negativity and fully open to music. When a song so overwhelms you that you're smiling with tears on your cheeks, it's powerful and this song, this concert is powerful in it's celebration of life and when the dark is looming, when I feel despair circling, I watch songs from this concert to wash it all away and give me the inspiration to face what comes. A perfect reaction in my opinion ;)
Wiping the snot off my face.... Thank you for this reaction. Peter's 'So' album saved my life. In all seriousness, I was suicidal and the only thing I could do was listen to Peter Gabriel and just not give in. Thank you.
Peter Gabriel is an amazing performer always has been, back in the genesis days my favourite song with Peter was carpet crawlers, from lamb lies down on Broadway
I did not read all the comments but Youssou N'Dour from Senegal was the opening act on that tour and joined him for that song - hence the heavy West African influence.
Gracie, you got a beautiful smile. I love your reaction to this timeless classic. In fact, I love you, move up to Canada if you’re available. Blessings
Thank you for the honest reaction and not talking over the whole song! The honest joy on your face spoke volumes. This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Have a great night and you just got a new subscriber.
