At 73 years of age I grew up in a time when even if you disagreed with politicians, for the main part you did not question their integrity. This shameful government has shown clearly those days are over. How very sad to now live at a time when as a Brit to be ashamed of the political system in Britain.
Totally agree the whole cabinet needs to go. That does leave a couple of candidates. At the time of the last run-off I was desperate for them to choose Jeremy Hunt. Just think how we could have avoided BJ and had someone knowledgeable about the NHS at the time of COVID.
@@paulchambers360 and therein lies the problem. You believe that covid is real. You STILL don't know that you have been decieved. And sad to say, you are not alone.
i think euthanising the tory party castrating it followers and we just might of just removed the desease that is the tory party.killed more people than covid.
I'm scared about what the future holds for my children. I am 61 still toiling away at a minimum wage job £9.50 per hour. I was supposed to retire at 60...then 65...the 66 then 67 and it is soon rising to 68 and probably higher. I am exhausted from the job I do but cannot give up as I would have no income...it feels like the billionairs ( who we all know use the polititionas as puppets to get more wealth) want us all to die before we can claim the pension that we have paid into. They want all the land to be used for housing ( as they own the building companies or have shares in them) I feel poweless and useless... what is the point of it all?
The nazi slogan above the concentration camps was "work shall set you free"... Everyone was sold into industrial slavery following the implementation of the Domestic system, and the aftermath of the previous world wars... Wars which were orchestrated by the same people implementing the covid out break, and the current escalation of global tensions. Those of us that saw our parents caught up in the factory trap and the money trap, we realised that it was a prison system built around us. "To repeat the same actions and expect different outcomes is the definition of insanity" Stop being paid to build your own prison. Realise the slave drivers for what they are, just because the whip is invisible doesn't mean there isn't a hand lashing away to squeeze more labour out of you. The horror in all this is that the only people who won the last world wars, were the globalists who orchestrated them, just as they'll now try and wipe the board clean again as more people wake up from the psychological head games and methods of control and compliance. Quit your job, spend time with your family, you'll regret not doing so when the bombs start falling.
I went to work abroad in 2000. I returned to the UK in 2016. I wish I had stayed abroad. The UK is finished with these criminals running the show. All they do is spend money on wars and let UK people rot and blame China or some other nation for their crimes.
Essentially the Tories have sold out to 'Big Money' and not necessarily UK?USA money, the Russian's were accommodated while Putin was not too much of a threat, now they are not entirely certain what to do. Londongrad still exits not all Russian assets have been identified and addressed! Boris knew all this, he also understood what the donor cabal wanted. Certainly not a UK as part of a regulated EU. He dilivered, and he has done well, not as well as he hoped, but not bad. Now when in opposition he will exert all his energies into supporting the Tories to control the media space to regain power. He will be paid well to do so.
Hopefully he can do the same for Labour ? If we ever actually find out what their economic strategy is...?! Seems almost identical to Tories ? Whining Lefties must be gutted ?
Like the “uniparty” in the US, Dems+RINOs (Republicans in Name Only, neo-Conservatives, war-mongers). Both elitist, both globalist. That is why the 45th president is now transforming that party into an America First party of the people. No RINOs are winning their elections, many have not even run. Your Conservative party needs to transform itself completely from within.
Do you know if they resign they claim 25 % of their salary even if they are picked again for the new cabinet ,all while food banks grow and the tax payer has his pockets empty.
After watching Bojo walk out of Parliament while Theresa May was trying to make a valid stance on how the Tories were handling the scamdemic I hope she is gloating today !.
These people have destroyed the fabric of our country, I hope historians will never let future generations forget this, and hold them accountable forever.
@@englishtom172 Zarah Sultana and Nadia Whittome both donate over half their MP salary to local charities because they feel they get paid too much, these are the people who you can trust to lead, when they objectively give away their privilege to help others, when it's unnecessary to do so
Its not like we weren't warned, numerous sackings, infidelities, lies, accusations of laziness, lack of a grasp of detail, surrounding himself with non entities prepared to lie for him, but finally, turning his famous tin ear to the thunderous voices telling him to go, even now, you can imagine him plotting his reincarnation within politics. He was the leader, but the disciples are equally complicit in his crimes.
Largely agree with you but his disciples are even worse than him. Johnson is a profoundly flawed human being. But can you honestly say sunak javid priti Patel suella braverman penny mourdant et al. are human!
I suspect he's using the time between now and his actual resignation (not the mythological one reported widely in the press) to grease some palms and line up some post-PM gigs. That aside, I'm deeply sceptical of the claim that he won't develop policy either, because policies have to be developed to cater to such things as stagflation, wars, and pandemics!
@@davesmith826 I would hope that other than the general administration of the country, no further policies be put forward until the new PM and as important, a new cabinet, are in place. The current ensemble are a hastily rounded up possee of rent a friend non entitees brought in to keep him relevent for a few more weeks. They can't be allowed to do anything other than sit in positions until the transfer of power is complete.
@@andrewgora3672 The people surrounding him were handpicked to keep up the charade of him being a statesman, the next PM must be distant from the last lot, anything less hands power to Starmer. If the Tories don't get the mood of the country and totally transform the way we are governed, with mostly new faces and hopefully, some big names from the pre Johnson era, they will be slaughtered. The last two years have been horrendous, a complete lack of conservativism, taxed to death on the alter of covid by a chancellor who is now favourite to succeed Johnson, this is suicide for the Tories.
@@Vincent-dc6ku your right I am old enough to remember Thatcher and major's reign. They were fiscal conservatives Cameron and Johnson are cosmopolitan liberals- not much different from Blair and starmer come to think of it. Thanks for your thoughts.
It’s English politics not British. Scotland despised the fat shyster from day one and completely rejected his all-too-obvious bullshit. In fact, Scotland hasn’t voted Tory since 1955,almost 70 years ago. It’s just another example of the democratic deficiencies that abound in this gerrymandered union.
Our future looks bleak because we don't give a shit who makes the decisions for us. We are just a country full of professional moaners. We deserve all that is coming our way.
Thank you for this. You’ve articulated exactly what I’ve been feeling. I thought Thatcher was bad, but I never imagined for one minute how much worse it could be

Maybe it's because no one takes the Mail seriously? Or reads below the headlines? Just looks at the pix? I was in SE England one summer and every bastrading pub had The Mail. I just couldn't read that shit, but it seems to rule the waves.

I think he used to be very much more right wing, but has come to "see the light" more and more as time goes on. And also, he's one of a dying breed of journalists that actually just want to report the truth, and even if it didn't go with his ideology, it was the truth that mattered. I think from that side, uncovering the actual truth, especially seen in the Al Jazeera documentaries where he contributed, it was like he had definitely seen the light after uncovering the truth.
Camilla "Homewrecker" Parker Bowles- The "Queen Consort." Fancy new word for "whore." Moral squalor, indeed. The entirety of the UK is in severe decline, and the sun has long set on the empire. Somewhere, Edward and Wallis are laughing their asses off.
Years ago Russell Brand warned about the rise of Johnson after meeting him as London Mayor and recognising his ambitions. Who could have known the depths it eventually materialised.
Perhaps the gullible and idiotic public should take note? I've known for 2 decades what Johnson and by extension the vile Tory party are! They're just vile no matter which angle you take! Remember these are the vile people who were happy to let the poorest children here in the UK starve and then they have a disgusting contract to some pals to supply food that can't be categorised as food not to mention what it's actual cost was and what was charged to the taxpayer! I vaguely remember it being at least 6 times the actual cost!
When a die hard traditional conservative (PO) speaks for a die hard traditional socialist (me) it speaks volumes about the state of today’s politics in the UK. We are in immense peril.
Bandolero, I'm Libertarian, and your statement fits all free British people.. I trace our demise back to Blair/Mandleson/Cambell/Murdoch, in this country. They sowed the seeds. They set up the model that has now morphed into an Oligarchy. I don't see a way back, except the Sri Lankan way. Until we see the people trampolining up and down on the beds in Buckingham Palace, (what a mind picture), things will only get worse. The control will become Chinese style.

I really didn't realise there were decent Tories until I came across Peter Oborne several years ago....... Here he is really giving the most accurate description of this disgusting charlatan. Keep it up Peter!!!!
This is all premeditated. He hasn't said he resigned. He's channeling attention onto him when really it's about the party. It appears to be a last minute attempt to help the party save face by him resigning, but he hasn't. They're all just as bad. Well, he has been an enabler of sorts, being blatant in the way he can just do as he pleases while evading criticism. So now, going forward, they'll behave like he has & just laugh at people about it. The transition is now complete: they're the UK Mafia.
Hey Peter - well said. You are an honest man who has been clear about his direction. Your books are excellent indicators of where we are going. I used to edit your material on the SX and always enjoyed reading it.
I wasted nine minutes watching the whole of that in the hope that this jerk would actually state ONE SINGLE objective fact but there wasn't ONE. It was nothing but an extended two minute hate / sky-screech which is all anyone seems capable of these days. Are political correspondents now using neuro-linguistic programming to win their argument by spraying the word "liar" around as many times as they can? It definitely works both ways Peter. There really must be something wrong with you Peter when you couldn't even resist a swipe at Trump. I thought you were of the right but you seem enough of a useful idiot to the left to hate Trump simply because he stopped Clinton becoming Lenin II in the centenary year of the Bolshevik Revolution. You're crap Peter and I say that as someone who lost his mother to covid and doesn't blame some non-parties at number ten. I blame the labour-voting public who killed 160,000 people by deliberately spreading covid to spite the government's efforts. The fact that Japan (who are famous for wearing masks in public places to stop the spread of respiratory viruses) had TWENTY times fewer covid deaths per million PROVES IT.

I don't agree with many of his politics. But I have a huge respect for Oborne as a journalist. He is proper old school, a journalist who puts in the effort to research his stories and back up his claims. Something that far too much of what passes as the media in the UK seems to have forgotten how to do. If we could have a thousand Peter Obornes clones dropped into newsrooms across the country, I suspect the country would be a much better place as the quality of journalism would improve overnight.
I really think it's as simple as this, that the newsrooms are full of women & women aren't interested in facts, but are interested in feelings. Frequency analysis of the 'news' will clearly bare this out. (there ARE of course exceptions, but it's a 'sum' thing). Also, they're new, shiny, very local, & so very often not British.
Peter Oborne is an example of a genuinely interesting and intelligent conservative. I don’t agree with much of his ideology but I can he is neither deceitful, stupid nor wicked. He is a thought provoking man.
It was good listening to such an intelligent man it’s a disgrace that a man of his intellect is not on main stream media ,corruption everywhere has put a stop to hearing the truth .
This is the man who said " What does it tell us about what happened to our society that we have 12 year old girls, 13 year old girls, who are happy to give up their affection and their beauty to men in exchange for a packet of crisps." This was in reference to the Rochdale sex trafficking gang scandal. You may call him intelligent. I have a different name entirely that I would use to describe him. Several in fact.
Labour have been in power for 30 years in it's history. Arguably the only decent government was the '45 one mainly because of pressure from the people but we have essentially two parties in hoc to the rich and establishment putting the needs of the few over the many.
It's difficult to know what's true on the internet these days. I've followed the work of Peter Oborne for over a decade. In my opinion he is honest and produces work of integrity. Morgan Howells, South Wales, UK.
When I came across this report from Peter Oborne, I was pleasantly surprised his views weren't of the daily mail as I did read his column and generally saw through it for what it is, an extreme tory leading paper by Lord Rothermore, where you unashamedly slag off the opposition like Starmer, inferring he's just as bad as johnson with partys etc without a shred of evidence! ...excellent report this showing the system for what it is! ...whoever they get to replace Johnson is of the same mould, as no one person stood up against this guy and say enough is enough! If this next leader goes for tax cuts, as they're all tempted to say, no way will they penalise the super rich, who's tax cuts will be just as "severe " than the rest of us, if indeed it happens.
I think Oborne means tax cuts for corporations not for the mere plebs. Rees Mogg made it clear that's what he expects, along with cuts to public spending, despite the cost of living crisis.
Sure, but that is the nature of the Tory party. It is not a party rooted in a large and active membership. Its members are few and inactive, as you say, but the trend started much earlier. The party never encouraged or fostered or facilitated voting. They prefer the smallest possible number of people voting (and the ID requirement fits in with this, to reduce the voting population), because it would give them an edge, as it has done in the past. I am afraid, the whole concept of the party is not one of a party that represents the voters at large. Moreover, in the latter part of the election against Corbyn, Johnson was clearly losing ground as people were becoming aware of his shifty attitude, particularly on the NHS, when Corbyn produced evidence of planned privatisation. At that point, the press kept quiet, he was taken out of public sight (hiding in fridges for instance) in the hope that the closeness of the election would not prejudice his winning it. Where were the press at the time? Whose bidding were they doing?
I really hope a whole lot of people who are relatively new tory voters are coming to the same realisation as you have about the true nature of conservatism, because that is EXACTLY what it has always been. It is rule by the wealthy few, for the interests of the wealthy few, and that ALWAYS means it is against everyone else's interests.
The entire system has to come down. Any vote is a validation of and consent to continuing the status quo. That is, members of the general public arguing amongst themselves over which group of self-entitled, under qualified grifters they'd prefer to be shafted by. The Labour Party is no longer the answer.
@@pseudonayme7717 That's just Britain. We have an aristocracy, after all. And with the same narrow class dominating politics and news media - not a democracy.
Its disastrous to allow him to linger on as "caretaker" I guarantee by the time he leaves office, the Murdoch press, the simpering BBC and a host of other lackeys will have the public believing that his forced resignation was the greatest injustice in British political history
This is so superbly described and delivered…at the same time it is utterly heartbreaking. It is heartbreaking because this describes exactly what is going to happen….and we’re completely powerless now to resist it. Only now that he has gone is the full extent of the kniving and complicity of so many agencies really being laid bare.
I know it seems like we are powerless to resist Sir but we are not vote for the only credible option Sir Kier Starmer. I kind of disagree. We each have a vote and you take each and every opportunity to speak to your local MP and vote against the conservatives, as you wish. The entire west is going through a troubling period right now and will be for several years to come. That's true in United States, Canada, EU etc. BoJo is a Grade A clown with a flexible relationship with the truth, but I would advise against wholeheartedly swallowing the media's assessment. The picture that is currently being painted is that because Boris had drinks in the garden of No. 10, because he knew that bloke had been told off for groping = every single current negative issue is of his making because he's completely incompetent. Further, not only should he be swiftly turned into a burnt offering, everyone he has ever spoken to must also go. Also, his wife is.probabky quite evil. Probably their child as well. Don't get me wrong, he does very much need to go - but let's keep a bit of perspective here. There are some major global issues at play at the moment (some of which BoJo has been oddly decent on) and banishing the entire front bench to briefly exorcise pent up anger actually doesn't help the country as a whole. At some point soon we are going to find out if Angela Rayner and Kier Starmer are going to quit over their party (if they get a police fine). At this rate, we risk ending up with Bob (the guys who Hoover's the House of Commons) running the whole country. He's perfectly nice, but he's overly interested in flat earth theories for my liking. We need, I need, all of us need, to not get so riled up by the media and journalists and news and radio pundits and just remember that our democracy works and is the envy of large parts of the world.
Save your ire. The next GE needs tactical voting. This will need the opposition parties to co-operate and put proportional representation into their mandate. Once elected, ensure that these mandates are enacted.
Peter Oborne is that rare thing in political journalism; someone who actually takes his job seriously and tries to report and analyse what is actually going on rather than merely playing to a particular gallery. He and I would have little in common politically and I rarely read his columns because I never read the publications in which he has been published (and I suspect those outlets are now being progressively closed to him), but when I have come across him I've been impressed with his willingness to be honest about his fellow Tories. Politics is about the struggle between people and classes with conflicting interests, and I believe that in this struggle there is only one side for whom integrity and honesty comes naturally because the job of the Tories and their media allies is to persuade the working class to vote against their own interests and this involves constant mendacity. However, there are rare occasions when such principles can be seen on the other side, and Mr Oborne may be one of those untypical examples.
Peter rightly predicted in an Interview last year that Johnson would be gone in 2022 - It is truly amazing how the press and media can hold court in Britain and the public seem oblivious to it. Peter's video deciphers this brillantly.

I can only give one thumbs up for this excellent speech. So frustrated that you couldn’t be heard much much earlier! And, with the Conservative party still in charge things will only get worse for ordinary people. So many Brits were so stupid to think a protest vote for Brexit was a good thing! 🤦🤦🤦🤦

This B'stard , this Eton Mess is an horrific disaster on legs and we know what needs to be done, so let us put our efforts into solving this threat to humanity with all the haste that we can muster.
I hate to be the kind of person to say this, since i think the idea of democracy is essential and sacrosanct: But does it really work if at least 1/3rd of the country couldn't spot, or didn't care, that Boris has always been an incompetent, morally bankrupt, liar?
it seems almost everybody within britain saw him through rose coloured glasses while the rest of us outside britain were shaking our heads - boris and brexit??
