Recently found your channel after watching you talk to Tim Gentry at mats. I first saw you on MT channel that was a great interview I was very impressed by your humility. Going back now and watching your channel from the beginning. You Sir are the American dream God bless you and yours.
Them boys that semi casual knocked that one out of the park wing still keep the 389X theme that truck would look good with a cattle pot like dust in the wind. See you boys at 75 Chrome Shop show.
the 379 is my favorite truck also always has been my dad drove one all me life I am 42 yrs old he drove for over 40 yrs before he retired I was almost born in a Peterbilt he almost didn’t get momma to the hospital in time but that sure is one nice ride brother
not only is that truck smoother than cream corn its also cooler than the other side of the pillow also lot rot was the best in louisville keep on keepin on
Love the channel guys. Was a Pete owner for years, pulled for Forward Air. When they start messing with the original 379 style they always go off course. By far the 379 is the top of the Large Car design platform. My first truck was a 2000 379. Then 2014 389 in 2013. Would of kept 379 with a Cat in it but California CARB Bull$#!t forced me to buy new. Ok the things I don't like about the 2023 389X is as follows, No#1, horizontal hood bars between vertical grille bars, need to be all vertical. No#2, Hood badging trim, needs to be just the emblem. That Peterbilt emblem says it all. Don't need to put more stuff on side of hood. Especially when hood rivets are running north, and then you put another horizontal line with the badge trim piece. That was No#3 of my issues. No#4 The aluminum front fenders. Too much shiny stuff on front of truck. Takes away from the color and overall look of truck. There are my issues and guys I am addicted to all the content you all put out, Keep up the great work. Bill
I am a w900 person, but with that said, I would have painted fuel tanks and wide straps on them 13:23 on the 389x. I really like the T bar and shock box, materfully done.
A beautiful ride Troy, I hate the new headlights, I've known guys who took them off and put the big round eyes on it just says peterbilt with the round ones. I've been a IH guy got my CDL in78 in a 4300 then a Pete in 83 to haul cattle, you have the best rides Ford and Peterbilt the 2 ovals stay safe and looking good.👍🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
I wish I could show mine. I didn't stretch it, but it's standard at 280. It's enough room between the reefer and the bulkhead to add an additional deck plate.
Really nice truck. only thing please send that truck back to the shop and get rid of the def tank. maybe change the Stacks give it that old School look. however not sure if you wanna keep it Stock for down the road resale value. keep living life loving the dream.❤❤👍👍
Don't get me wrong I love pb but I'm a KW fan, got a W9 and a T800 and love them both. One thing I hate about the PB is the clutch pedal. Hate it with a passion and can't no one tell me different..
nice video & nice truck troy , thanks ! im just gonna take you up on ur comment contest deal about what i dont like about 389s 😂 now i like my KW W9B flatglasses , its my favorite truck make/model & its all i own & drive , but i will say the 389 is a mighty fine truck but the main things i dont like about 389s ... how high the dash is , & the angle of the windsheild is tilted back several degrees whereas on these older 359/W900's the windshield stands up a lot straighter & i also think the interiors are rather plainjane compaired to my 30 year old factory kenworth 2 tone button tuck interior . anyways , just my opinion for what ever its worth 😊 like it or hate it idc
Mr Troy I have never noticed that pitch difference in that joint on the hood. And here I have been bothered by thinking the striping on my truck was done unlevel. Stripe guy actually did the correct work and Paccar just made it hard for him lol. I think that because I grew up riding with my dad in 379s and 359s that the emissions step on the passenger side and the way it changes the size and shape of the drop panel is maybe not a “complaint” so to speak just something that sticks out like a sore some thumb. I didn’t like the big KW style step at first but it’s grown on me and I think for OCD purposes they should’ve did the big step on the other side. You can’t really do the old school box mounted mud flaps or anything and have it look uniform and “correct” because of the two different set ups on each side. Beautiful ride though once again. Even though you don’t seem to own an ugly one lol. If they follow through with the discontinuation this time then you have a time capsule but here’s to hoping they change their mind with a hit in sales or something and keep making the legendary truck that started my passion as a kid and the truck I shared my first and final memories with my ol man in. You’re an inspiration to guys like myself hearing your story from beginning to now and after bumping into you and Steven and getting a metal badged Tri State hat from you guys at MATS 2022 and seeing you guys are the same in person as you are on the internet just put the icing on the cake. You’ve left behind a good footprint on this world as you’ve walked and the good Lord has blessed you for it. I pull a tank and have worked that darn Tri State hat until it needs to be hung up for a little while, where can I buy a new one/new model, whatever the design is now?
Peterbilt is the best. However, what about that hood rubber coming off when you open the hood? Even worse, the rumors of the 389 cab is going to change dramatically.
