Another maintenance video from the 200’000 mile peugeot 206
Part 1 of an attempt to stop some of the horrible noises that the car has been making for the last week or 2.
Wheel bearing is changed by me in the garage with fairly basic tools. Part 2 coming later in the week.

Thank you! I'm about to do just that. I have a 2006 206 16val 1.6 Mex. I bought it from a female co-worker, and with all due respect to women, she never changed engine supports or of she did the mecanic did a poor job. I rebuilt the engine after it failed, the chain or the band that rotates the the valves. Took the whole motor head and replaced the valves, head gasket etc. I have an awesome car. Paint is already sunbunt, minor dent on the right front fender..but the motor is in perfect conditions. There's nothing like the time of need with not enough money, mechanics charging like crazy; that you put your thoughts together man up and DIY. I watched tons of vids JUST LIKE YOUR VIDEO.. And I really thank you. I tried to record pogress and the work, but not enough patience, only me no one wants to help, so I have only pics and 2 vids that are like 30 sec. I’ll be honest, it’s not on my to-do list. There are plenty of other RU-vidrs out there that have done it better than I could. Mine was done before I got it. I understand it’s fairly simple though.

Nothing out of the ordinary then. That’s good, I’ve got to do mine now. Only thing I would do different is remove the disc earlier in the process, & I’d remove the steering arm before the other bits (no idea why, that’s just how I did it back in the day). Great. Thanks for taking the time to document this.

Mine is a bottle jack style 12 ton. Although it really wasn’t working hard. 8-10 ton would handle it easily.

What is the part number for the front wheel bearing? I ordered once from ebay, it came out to be very big not accurate as stated by seller. Thanks

I’ll be honest, I don’t know. I rely on places like euro car parts or MPD for the parts for my daily, it’s a lot easier to take things back when they’re wrong.
