Temperature gauge goes to red everytime when the fan kicks in, and when fan goes off temperature gauge drops back to normal. Car is not boilng coolant.I've replaced temp sensor but it's still the same
I've changed temperature sensor but it didn't help. It was a faulty resistor which was responsible for first speed of the fan, so in this case ecu was getting a signal from relay that the power is going to the fan but the fan was not kickin in. That why ecu is activating kind of emergency mode and switching on second speed of the fan and displaying massage on dashboard that is something wrong.
+piochu25 where is the fan, how can I check whether it is working or not, my car temp after 5-10 min of drive goes more than 90% and then return back to normal and then the same rise.
+piochu25 thanks after normal servicing - change of coolant, temp is fine. Some time it reached to 95 and then kicks back. Mechanic said it is normal for European cars. what you say?. I had Honda and Toyota before, temp never gone higher than 90.
I used a works rental Peugeot boxer van and on the motorway the temperature gauge kept moving up and down it was saying too hot and flashing red then if you slowed down a little it'll go back to halfway but it was happening a lot don't know why very weird.
Yes had this problem in a 03 xsara, it was the thermostat sensor, very easy job, it used to reach operating temp then go all the way up and start beeping with the stop light in and cooling fans running in full blast..
Had exactly the same problem guy from the peugeot breakers released the air out the system from a little nipple at the top of the engine at the back near the dashboard and it sorted all the problems ,heaters came back on fan worked properly and temp gauge went back to normal with no cost what so ever
my car was heating up over 90 but the fan would always kick in around under 95/100 the dealer said peugeot's usually heat up a little more than most cars,didn't know there was a first and second temperature sensor for the fan it to kick in...?! I flushed all the coolant out of the radiator washed it all out...put radiator coolant red 60 percent and 40 water,changed the thermostat and temperature valve, seems to heat up less the water was like brown...i'm goin to see these tips on checking for the first temperature sensor on the fan to see if there's anything wrong with it,still i think it's ok cause the car overheats in traffic over 90 but fan kicks in, if there was anything really broken it would heat up as well on open road and on open road it's under 80 so it should be ok, the engine is keping cool,would be better thought if first temperature sensor would kick in just over 90 like a slow fan...are you guys sure it has one first sensor start off point just over 90...and then a second around 100..?!?
oh yeah after flushing make sure you open the small air intake sockets and let out all the air till the water is coming out...or else you will have air inside...
La solución a este problema es la siguiente: no cambien termostato, reles del electro ventilador, sensor de temp y mucho menos el electro ventilador todo eso lo hice de nada sirvió. Detras de la tapa donde están los fusibles de bajo de la columna de dirección hay 2 conectores, uno verde y uno negro. En el conector negro llegan unos cables gruesos desconectenlo limpien los contactos y asegúrense de que se fijan firmemente esa es la solución a este problema Saludos!
Поменял резистор с термомпредохранителем и все заработало нармально. Расположено спереди под решеткой радиатора, ниже блока реле скоростей вентилятора. Такая спираль. Крепится одним болтом на 10 и разъем с проводами.
La solucion se las dejo en español e ingles: I leave the solution in Spanish and English: Español 1 - En mi caso revisé los 2 relés que estan al costado derecho del ventilador (son 2 verdes que estan dentro de una cajita), uno de ellos estaba sulfatado y lo reemplacé pero el problema persistió. 2- Me di cuenta que habia aire en el sistema de refrigeración del vehiculo, asi que le prendi la calefaccion en el nivel 3 y le saque el aire desde el despiche que esta cerca de la cabina, lo puedes girar con los dedos, despues de eso se solucionó. English 1 - In my case I checked the 2 relays that are on the right side of the fan (they are 2 green that are inside a box), one of them was leaking and I replaced it but the problem persisted. 2- I realized that there was air inside of the cooling system, so I turned on the heating at level 3 and took the air out from the desk that is near the cabin, you can turn it with your fingers, after that it was solved.
a ver si lo entendi bien? encendistes el motor y prendistes el aire acondicionado y desenroscastes la tapita que purga el aire del habitaculo hasta que dejara de salir aire??? todo eso lo hicistes con el motor encendido y el bote del agua cerrado con la tapa???
@@EkiRiWaY Tienes que encender el aire caliente del vehículo para que pase el agua hacia el tubo de la cabina (con el motor encendido), después de eso desenroscar la tapita de despiche hasta que salga agua y no aire. Igual si no es eso pueden ser los cables que tiene conectados en la resistencia, en mi caso terminó siendo eso, los cables estaban sueltos, puedes encontrarlos y verlos de manera fácil, solo te agachas y ves el frontal del vehículo, en dónde está la rejilla del parachoques en el lado izquierdo, vas a ver 2 cables conectados a la resistencia, esos cables que van a presión a veces se salen, tienes que volverlos a colocar o mejor conectarlos a cables más delgados y flexibles y esos conectarlos con la resistencia para que no se te desconecten de nuevo
Probable température captor or water pump, to now you have to check if the durit are all hot or some of them cold when the engine is at his normal temperature.
Check if water is full.check thermostat.check if fridge is not clogged.lastly my temp rises when radio is working so something electrical is at fault.also check if fan is working
Mine is 407 sw 1.6 hdi and water temp was maximum 70 C no matter how hot was outside even In a traffic jam. It takes me 10-11 litter / 100km inside town because of low engine temp. Gone to peugeot and they changed thermostat (that was blocked to always open) then problem was solved. Go to representative service. My problem costs me around 200 USD. I live in RO. Good luck!

i have the same problem. it doesn't boil. one of other 206 driver told me, the fan must work over 98 degrees. I faced with this problem only in winter. so I guess problem is in the temperature sensor. I'm gonna check that today..
+Constantine Zalesny yes, service solved the problem. electromechanical relay changed. it didnt start the fan. two of them changed. now it works when motor gets 98degreese and fan starts..
service man said that there is no problem with cooling system.. so it's not coming to boiling water.. but slowly it goes hot.. it's about starting to fan.. these relays starts slow fan and fast fan..
+Ahmet Arık one of it starts slow fan mode, other one for fast fan mode.. my cars two of them broken so fan never started. if slow fan had a problem it goes hotter and when the fast fan starts it will decrease but my car.. as I said..

Esta falla ocurre cuando la velocidad baja del ventilador no opera correctamente. Esto por problemas con el rele o cables sulfatados, tambien por falla en la resistencia que va abajo del ventilador.
@@ikergonzalez5335 lo pruebas en ralenti, espera a que suba la temperatura y parte el velocidad suave, si se va el indicador de temperatura a full sin que parta ahí está el problema, o simplemente partirá el ventilador al máximo que lo notarás por el sonido, ya que el nivel bajo casi no suena

en la salida del motor hay una valvula que es la encargada de aguantar el agua del motor , para dar tiempo al radiador a enfriar , bien esa valvula actua abriendose cuando detecta el agua caliente dentro del motor, de esta forma da paso por otra parte a la entrada del radiador. se hace un ciclo eterno de esta forma, siempre que conducimos tenemos agua fria reservada , en cuanto esta valvula se estropea, se inicia un sobrecalentamiento de motor ya que no se abre para liberar el agua caliente hacia el radiador, o puede incluso tener pequeños fallos unas veces andara otras veces no, en este coche tiene todo los sintomas de que esa valvula esta estropeada,,

+Gustabo Gonzalez Creo te refieres al termostato. Mi auto presenta el mismo problema, se lo quité así teniendo el flujo contínuo. Sí tienes razón, esa es la función de dicha válvula; pero aún así sin ella me sigue presentando la misma condición: al medir ~90-95° en un momento se me dispara la aguja hacia lo rojo, al igual que aquí en el video; después de unos segundos vuelve a bajar de nuevo a los 90-95. Fuese problema de el termostato, no daría esos 'saltos' sino que subiría gradualmente y se quedaría ahí por el calentamiento del agua. Me va más a que es algo aunado a ello, algo eléctrico/electrónico.
NO TE LO RECOMIENDO QUE LO QUITES, PORQUE EN VERANO si no tiene este tapon de salida del motor, cuando circules en ciudad ,terminara todo el circuito calentandose. ya que el radiador le entrara y sadra agua caliente continua de las camisas del motor,este sistema su mision es aguantar un poko el agua caliente del motor, mientras este cerrada, le dara tiempo a enfriarse el radiador , si esta valvula se estropeo, y daño la junta culata del motor, ya solo queda llevarlo a un taller, lo suyo es cuando veamos que hay una variacion, de temperatura , lo antes posible ver esta valvula, , para probar si abre o no al cambio de temperatura es sencillo se quita, se calienta en agua caliente,en un recipiente, y si esta bien se debe ver claramente como se habre cierra...
Anybody found the cause and fix? I had same issue a couple of times on long open road trips, it will stay on red but when I go out and check no boling and even the radiator hoses are not that hot. Shut it off for a few minutes and back to normal, it may or may not come back again, seems randomly.
Dont switch o first speed of fan, when temperatura is in red switch on second speed of fan ,when connected car to autodiagnostic try switch on first speed of fan with diagnostic if dont work change reostat small part on the top fan
Where to find reostat pls? And how it looks like? cos the low speed fan is not turnig on for me, just the fast speed fan only!! I changed both relays for the low speed and fast speed but nothing happens still same problem

Hola tenia el mismo problema de temperatura y en "mi caso era la junta de la culata que no era del mismo diámetro " ya mi carro 206 no sube a tal temperatura pero tenia otro problemita con el ventilador del radiador " el ventilador entraba despues de 95 lo cual era un fastidio ya que el carro parecía que fallaba y daba problemas de generación al encender el aire y las luces" le cambie una resistencia que esta detrás de la parrilla del bumper frontal, por una nueva y después de ahí ya el abanico funciona a tiempo, pero me ha quedado un problema que es cuando el abanico entra, con aire y luces encendidas el carro me comienza a fallar como si fuera de generación de electricidad pero el alternador y batería están bien
Probaste con cambiar el vulvo, a mí me pasaba lo mismo y era eso. Aparte tenía una manguera que perdía agua. Le cambié esas dos cosas y después andaba bien el ventilador

Amigo tenta começar, pela resistência que fica próximo do ventilador( das hélices) geralmente a fase da baixa queima aí ele libera o segundo estágio que da isso kkk

boa noite, sou proprietário de um peugeot 206 1.0 16v 2001, que tem o seguinte defeito, na estrada quando viajo ele anda uns 100km ou em média 1 hora de viagem e logo acende a luz STOP no painel e em seguida o ponteiro da temperatura vai ate ao máximo e logo encosto, desligo o carro e ligo no mesmo minuto e volta ao normal, e depois de em média 1 hora acontece novamente e faço o mesmo procedimento. Alguém pode me ajudar com alguma informação?
Se o antigo dono faltava com a revisão do sistema de refrigeração é mais fácil você trocar o sistema todo como: Radiador, mangueiras, bomba d'água, junta do cabeçote, eletroventilador( se estiver ruim). Em paralelo, limpeza de todos os conectores e sensores do carro inclusive do painel e checagem do computador. Independente de qual cidade você more,recomendo que você leve o carro em uma oficina de primeira linha para evitar mecânico de baixa/nula qualidade.
do lado da ventoinha tem uma tampinha só abrir ela ali tem 2 reles q controla dois estágios de temperatura uma delas esta queimada ....isto aconteceu no meu PEUJEOT e foi resolvido ...vaaaleu
