I love mine E208 GT it’s beautiful , luckily enough I ordered 2 weeks back on Friday and I got it on the Tuesday the following week only a few days wait because I had one of the brand new one off the forecourt from Peugeot in derby very quick turn around if I waited from the factory they said up to 4 months so just took the red one off the lot, didn’t think much of the colour but when I picked it up and it had been washed it was a lovely dark Perl essence paint that cost me £600 more but it’s like a dark sparkly Ferrari red

Gosh, that is a long time. Yet I suppose COVID hasn't helped either. Lots of car factories had to close for obvious reasons and they are taking their time getting back up to speed, especially as they will have to adhere to new working guidelines.

The Ioniq isn't in the same market sector as the 208, as it is a bigger car. We aren't comparing all EVs with each other just because they are electric, but by market sector and their closest rivals, just as we wouldn't compare the Hyundai i30 with a petrol 208 even if they were the same price as they are different cars. That being said, the e208 os still a better car to drive than the Ioniq, so if we had, we would still rate the Peugeot higher.

Hi David. First of all, thank you for watching and for taking the time to comment. Let's deal with your queries one by one. First of all, ride quality. In my experience, it's the marketing/styling department that insist on larger diameter alloys, whereas engineers favour a smaller size. I remember buying a Porsche 996 when they had first come out from a trader friend of mine, and when I bemoaned it didn't have the desirable 18" alloys, but standard 17" ones, he simply replied, "That's how Porsche intended it to be". Another example was the E46 M3s always drove better on 18" alloys, but the trade loved the 19's. Anyway, I am digressing slightly. Theory and experience suggests that you will get a slightly better ride on the 16" alloys, but that also depends on the tyre fitted. The bigger the sidewall profile the more cushioning you have. It should be a bit softer, but it won't be night & day different. The ride quality isn't to bad on the GT, but I haven't driven one on the smaller wheels, so it would be wrong of me to tell you for definite. As far as the brakes go, you have nothing to fear. I know that the brakes aren't as good in the 208 as perhaps the Zoe or MINI, and therefore I say so in my review. To most people (and I mean this with the utmost of respect to everyone) the difference will be marginal. Please don't worry about it. I like a lot of "feel" in my brakes as I have spent most of my career driving high-performance cars. Put it this way, I would have no problem with my wife driving a long distance in the e208. It's just my job to point out the little differences I encounter with each car. I hope that answers you queries, but please do get in touch if there is anything I can help you with. Hello Bryan Thank you not simply for your enlightening reply but for being so fulsome. Wheely appreciated. (You see, you're not the only one prone to indulgent wordplay; on which digressing note - and this is true, not a joke - only this very day from a friend in Laos I received several pictorial examples of foreigners' amusing distortion of the English language, the prize one for me being a local greengrocer advertising yellow fruit as "Banana Tree Dicks!") Back to the e208. I'm especially grateful for your convincing comments about its brakes given, repeat, the lengthy journey I face in an unfamiliar car and the particular characteristics under discussion. I'm a thousand years older than your goodself and I recall owning, over a ten year period, two Ford Ka-s which both had an alarming amount of 'travel' in the brake pedal and, as I mentioned previously, I daresay that with the Pug it will eventually be the case, as with the old Ka, that I'll adjust to the different 'feel' but, notwithstanding, it's the initial 'getting to grips' scenario that's been worrying me. As with you, I too like a solid 'answer' beneath my brake foot. The fact you thoughtfully mentioned that you'd have no hesitation in your wife driving the e208 on a 'long haul' in this connection is the one part of your narrative that most sets my mind at rest. Even so I'm going to gingerly get acquainted with the new beast, the test driving mercifully being a taster ahead of the extended trek homewards. I've been additionally trying to reassure myself by focusing on the fact that of course in regenerative mode c/o a BEV one doesn't use the brakes nearly as much as when driving an ICE alternative, which, along with your encouraging remarks on the subject, does much to calm my apprehension. It's the grey artense Thats what I m going for too There are 2 versions of grey This is the more open one and I think it's better cause the darker one (grey platinum) makes the car look smaller in the eye at least imo

No park assist on the e208 gt. was originally in the brochure when up for orders but they didn’t include it in production.

Thanks for your contributions George. We don't get media packs with all the cars, and this was eth case with the Peugeot, so its down to a bit or research through Peugeot's website. Its is a very interesting comparison with the 208 and Corsa as, like I said, you'd think they'd feel much closer than they actually do. I personally preferred the 208 as it felt like it was just a more polished product for the money. However, and I want to be very clear on this, the Corsa is a really good car, and they have done a sterling job in such a short space of time. If they epand teh range a bit and had an entry-level car at under £25k, then (much like the MINI) that would be the one I would recommend. But at £30k, I just feel it trails the e208 and Zoe by not being special enough. But, it is still a great car, and without doubt the best Corsa I have driven. And I like Corsas!
