From Peyton's Places Season 1 Episode 26: Peyton and his favorite rival, Tom Brady, hit golf balls in Jim Nantz's backyard and reminisce about their epic battles. #peytonmanning #tombrady #nfl #football
Now we live in the era that every QB that's just good enough to not be replaced is demanding mega contracts that cripple the team. Before you used to have to win a Super Bowl or be consistently one of the best to get that big contract.
Two of the greatest quarterbacks ever to play the game, now they're playing golf and reminiscing about football will there ever be two quarterbacks like these in our history of football?
@@donsolos I'm hoping burrow and mahomes turns into what we had with the Brady and Manning rivalry. It's already going on at a good pace. We were all spoiled in the 2000s by Peyton and Tom
It is amazing how these two could remember the details of the other team scoring Peyton saying Moss and Brady saying Wayne. I could listen to them talk for hours.
@@realricky__ sorry little bro but Brees was never Peyton. Stop living in crack land, Brees didn't get robbed he was saved by an onside kick and carried by Tracy Porter. If it weren't for Sean Payton's genius decision he never wins a ring. Also Brees was saved by a horrible Brett Farve pass that was picked. Brees was more carried than Peyton. Stop smoking dick
If you weren't there for it you will never truely understand how massive this rivalry was. It was an event. March you had free agency. April, you had the draft, August you had the Hall of Fame induction, September, you had kickoff of the regular season, November, you had the Brady Manning game, February, you had the superbowl. That's what it felt like, an annual event that the eyes of the football world where watching.
@@Miller2h41 Eh. Mahomes is on track to beat bradys super bowl record. the only problem is he has to let burrow win some for their to even be a rivalry. mahomes being too good is just ruining all the rivalrys
Whether it was Colts-Pats or Broncos-Pats, Brady vs Manning was always an NFL holiday. You worked whatever you were doing around being able to watch them face off. I rooted for Peyton, but had nothing but respect for Tom. Brady was my dad's guy, being a Michigan man, but he loved Peyton too. In my dad's final years, this was probably the one thing we _always_ shared. And then in the playoffs, we'd root for whichever guy was left. I miss seeing these guys play. But most of all, I miss seeing these guys play...while watching with my dad.
The two greatest QB’s in the history of the sport, bar none. As a 22 year old, I’ve always been a Brady guy but man, Peyton was incredible in his own right. These two truly made me fall in love with the game.
@@jackyoung9731 they’re few QBs that were better than Peyton. Montana & Rodgers to start with. Mahomes will pass him soon. Tom Brady is class on his own for now but don’t include Peyton in there
It’s fun to see their friendship these days after how fierce of competitors they were for so many years. It’s always wild to ponder how many championships could Peyton have possibly won if he didn’t play in the same era as Tom and vice versa. Kinda crazy that the five years they faced off in the playoffs the winner went to the superbowl each time. 4/5 of those years the winner won the superbowl. Just fun to think about.
They were the last bastion of the old school football feel.. back when rivalries meant something and every meeting felt like a special day of the year like a holiday. God I miss those days.
They need to do a full 1 hour of Peyton & Tom's rivalry. I'd love to have them in separate rooms breaking down each game they played against each other because theres way more meat on that bone than this
Thank you for being men of great character and excellent athletes. It has been an honor to have been able to watch you both in the NFL and College. 🙏😎✌️🇺🇸
I know everyone has a rivalry with the Patriots since they dominated everyone for 20 years, but I always felt like the Colts vs Patriots rivalry was one of the best during the Manning Brady years.
Agreed, we had one with the Jets, but it was pretty one sided. Against the Colts; especially when Peyton was there, you always felt like it was going to be a tough week.
There's only 2 teams that Brady's Patriots didn't dominate: 1 NY Giants and 2 Denver Broncos. Those 2 teams always gave Brady's Pats issues. Smoked the rest of the league
@@TOP5RAPWEBSITE No offense, but winning a couple regular season games against the pats is not 'owning' and to be fair pats fans barely remember those games. For you it was a big deal as you beat the pats in week 6, for us it was just a Sunday
If my team was playing, Pitt, and on the other channel these 2 were going at it. Guess what, I was watching Peyton and Tom, because that was great history being made.
Peyton is my all time favorite qb. Everytime he played against Brady I knew it would be a tough game. But some of the most memorable win or loss. One of the greatest rivalries every.
So much respect to these two greatest QBs of the game. As a Colts fan will always cheer for Peyton and go against Brady knowing that I'm wrong. Still tho Brady is the GOAT and Peyton is a GOAT to imo. You guys are amazing and have mad respect for you both. 👏
How could a first ovr pick when 7 super bowls on a team that was bad enough to get the first pick. Brady is OK and knew how to compliment great defenses but he couldn't carry a franchise with just his offense like Manning brees or rodgers.
Brady's gonna start missing the game real badly soon. It never goes away in my personal experience, and I haven't played in 20 years. To play at his or Peyton's level, I can't imagine how hard it must be to have to retire
The funny part is if they both decided to come back and play this year they would still be better than half the quarterbacks in the league today. At least brady would be
Loved it!❤ Goose bumps remembering all those games. I am a Patriot, and that last AFC championship when the Broncos ended up at the Super Bowl, was bitter sweat, because of course you want the Patriots to go to the SB , but I also wanted Payton to get that ring before retirement. It was like the right thing to happen, like destiny. Love the video, love to see you two together! You have both brought joy to many, many Sundays!
One of the greatest player rivalry’s in sports history. Reminds me of bird and magic. Every game was important and brought at the best in both players and teams. Brady the greatest ever, Peyton in top 10. And the most important thing about these 2, both class acts and are very humble
I'm not a "rah-rah" Brady fan, but one has to admire what he's accomplished. As a Giants Fan, I'll just sit and quietly smile when the conversation switches to Brady's Super Bowl appearances.
STFU BRADY GOT 7 RINGS AND HE WON A RING ON HIS FIRST YEAR WITH A DIFFERENT TEAM AND THE FIRST TIME A TEAM PLAYS A SUPER BOWL ON THEIR OWN STADIUM PLUS HE BEAT THE NEXT GOAT WHILE AT IT AND HE BEAT 90 PERCENT OF BOTH MANNINGS BROTHERS COMBINED RECORDS OK AND HE MADE TO 10 SUPER BOWLS
Some of the best football games I've ever watched! Pats vs. Colts will forever be burned into our memories due in no small part to these 2 legends. Wish we had more, but grateful for what we got!
Being a 50yr old lifelong resident of Indy & a Colts fan, I always hated(but respected) the Pats & Brady bcuz they crushed our dreams of going to the Super Bowl so many years. What's mind blowing is watching these guys rattle off the situation, the play, the player & the consequences off the top of their heads 10-20yrs later. Kinda cool seeing them remember all the exact plays that I still think about from that era of Colts/Pats & Broncos/Pats games
I was 15 yrs old when we drafted Peyton manning been a life long colts fan who lives in indiana Peyton changed the colts and indiana forever thanks Peyton for your greatness it was the best yrs of mylife
With so many records, rings and just great players and stewards of the game. There is and never will be comparison with these two. Truly the first two heads of QB Mount Rushmore.
As a patriot fan that 2006 loss still sting the Reggie Wayne fumble that popped up in the air and he came down with it the dropped pass by Brady to Caldwell for a walk in touchdown 😩😩
Back then this rivalry was second to none. It was always fun & was must watch TV when they faced off. And did they ever face each other a lot. Thank you NFL schedule makers for that. The best part about their rivalry was Brady always won in Peyton's Colts years (aside from his 2006 Super Bowl run). I loved watching Brady getting wins over Peyton & all the Brady doubters. When Irsay got did Peyton wrong & kicked Peyton out the door, that is when Peyton started to play 0.500 ball with Brady. Those were pretty great playoff battles those years when Peyton was a Bronco.
Two men that are truly the salt of the earth.i was blessed to watch both compete in my opinion there is no one better at and the knowledge and love for the sport then these two men.
First Undertaker and Mankind sat down to watch their Hell in a Cell match and now two of the greatest that I had the privilege of watching go head to head on the football field play golf and talk about their memories.... Getting old sucks.... But I guess everyone is doing it.... Thank you both for all the years you spent entertaining us.
@@thehappyharper1380 Oh, I see. Thx buddy. I haven't watch wrestling since I was 11 and Mach man, Hulk, Jake, Rowdy, Superfly,Ted$$$, Iron Shiek, and all those og's were around. Maybe that poster was only 12 so that would make sense. Thanks again, my friend.
We were more spoiled than we even know. And as we see more of the legends passing away, we gotta hope that guys like Mahomes and Burrow will want to have moments around these guys. In 20 short years, THEY will be what Peyton and Brady are to us now. Meaning they'll be responsible for telling the history of the game up to that point.
It's crazy to think how many amazing games the 2 of them played against each other. Regular season or playoffs they were always the same caliber of play and excitement. It's really cool to see how well the both of them remember, almost play by play, each of those games.
Two of the greats at the most demanding position in sports and it's notable that niether was physically gifted. They did it with smarts, hard work and heart.
Ben, Brady, Peyton, Brees, Rodgers, Rivers, and Eli are what I grew up watching. I’m 30 years old and it’s weird to see all of the star QBs I watched as a kid in Pittsburgh see them all retire. Hopefully my future kids someday will see a class of QBs like I did as a kid.
@@kylegoodman5196 "he benefited a lot from Bill's defenses" It's mind boggling how overlooked this fact is. I'm a HUGE TB12 honk but it's undeniable how often the defense carried him. How many times did you hear "bend, don't break" during a Patriot's game..? a LOT. Sorry to get off your point bc it's a really good one. Tampa Tom was cool AF & who could forget "Tequila Tom" when he hucked the Lombardi off a yacht to Cam Brate🤣 Juxtaposition that with Belichick's lame "No Days Off" rant in 2017 after (infamous 28-3) SB 51...!
Going for it on 4th down in 2009 was the right call in the moment and remains so to this day. Just because something doesn't work doesn't make it a bad call. Cowards and clowns in the comments trying to justify punting.
I’m a Cowboys fan and lived through the 90s rivalry with the Niners. But I have to say watching these guys play against each other was always special and so much fun to watch. It woulda been cool to see these guys play in the SB either when Peyton left Indy or even later on when Brady left, if Manning never had that neck injury of course
I'll never forget the AFC championship game in 2015, that game turned me from a Brady Hater to an admirer. He got hit more viscously than any QB i've ever seen and still took the broncos to OT.
