Now that the free agency period has started, Verno and KOC react to all the free agent signings, extensions, and more, starting with Jayson Tatum’s record-breaking contract extension with the Celtics, as well as Paul George’s impact with the Sixers and where the Clippers go from here. They then move on to discuss the contracts of Tyrese Maxey, Immanuel Quickley, and debate why the Nuggets wouldn’t match the contract that the Magic gave to Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Love KOC and Chris back and forth. This illusion of a stretch 5 still bothers me. All Hartenstein has to do is continue to rebound like a maniac and play excellent defense. He will be well worth the money. When you ask a guy to do what he is not capable of ( shoot 3’s ) we start looking at him differently. PG great player I think Clippers did the right thing don’t overpay let him go. I am definitely with Chris on this.

Should be an exciting season next year! Love what the Knicks and Philly have done. Boston is still the favorite to come out of the east of course. In the west Dallas & OKC both improved. Don’t like Denver losing KCP, but as long they have the Joker they’ll be fine. Minnesota stayed pat, but will contend again. 🏀

Even as a Celtics fan living on cloud 9 lol. The nuggets fascinate me. You have the best player on the planet imo and you’re worried about player development. when your main guy is gonna be 30 you go for it for the next 3 or 4 seasons. They very easily could win 2 out of the next 4 titles but they r screwing around with jokers best years. It’s a huge mistake that could become catastrophic if they aren’t careful. West is loaded they need to get better not worse

Fully understand the decision is letting PG walk. There is no way he should be making the same amount of money as the likes of Steph curry, Jokic, KD, kawhi, Giannis etc, Because at this stage of his career he doesn’t guard the best player nor is he an offensive engine He doesn’t get to the rim anymore nor the foul line….no way that’s a player that should be making 53 mill net. The way he stated openly about not wanting to do the dirty work….newsflash in philly he gon’ have to be the one doing all that He seems to want the contract of a superstar but with the responsibilities and expectations of a high level role player.

I do think Quickley is better, but denifitely not 100mi better. They are the same type of player and will bring similar value to the team. I'm with Verno on this one.

For twenty minutes I forgot why I stopped watching this show but then Kevin O. said this Monk vs Quickly bullshit &it took me back to all the other ridiculous takes that man comes up with. Monk is 26yrs old & Quickly is 25yrs old, Monk is a career 35% from deep and Quickly is 37% from deep. Take away Quickly's stats with Toronto &they're virtually the same player statistically. I like both players but there's not $100-million difference &neither plays any defense. It's that Knicks bias infecting the minds of every media member &front office; just like with Hartenstein

Boston is already over the 178m limit with only their top 6 players, it seems like they will have to go over the 2nd apron to fill out their roster just paying league minimums and rookies. I don't understand how they can actually do that, they will be slammed with luxury tax and the other restrictions. ??

I don’t fully understand this part- I also heard something that if you go over to 2nd apron your picks will be frozen (for 7 years?? Idk I could be making that up maybe it’s 7 frozen for 4 years or something) which is why teams will be panic moving players. It’s not even necessarily the tax i think it’s the tax + that, I think that part is scary to teams and many will do everything to avoid. But maybe I misheard I am def not an expert lol it’s all very confusing

I know that everyone wants to hear about the biggest names, but they are all either washed up or are going to be soon. Klay worth might be 16 mil per season, this season, but certainly not 3 years from now. KG is 34 on a max deal. There is no trade value for him even now and certainly not 2 years from now. And they both won't do shit in the Playoffs Meanwhile Oklahoma did the best they can do, while still keeping most picks (if not all) and nobody is talking about them
