Caleb, I know you hear this alot dude, but you've blown us away from where you started to where you are now. No special training to do anything you're doing, yet you're doing work better than some WITH training. Be proud dude... You're getting very close to 500k for a good reason!
I honestly wasnt sure if he was going to be able to do this but I did have confidence that he knew what he was doing more than I do. I'm blown away and very proud of how well it's going, really inspiring
It's nice to see an automotive youtuber who started out not knowing how to do too much actually try and do things properly instead of just taking the cheap or easy route, admit when they make mistakes, and use those mistakes as a learning experience to better themselves and not just making the same mistakes over and over again and never really putting much effort into bettering themselves and their skills. *cough* bisforbuild *cough*
Good job on not welding galvanized steel bare. Although, tbh man, you should still wear a respirator while doing it as zinc oxide fumes are quite toxic and it's flu-like symptoms *reallly* suck. I'd know, I got the real flu right now. I'm loving where this build is going more and more and more. The rally Mata is what got me started on your channel. Much love, man! Thanks for the early content and letting us support ya on patron! P. S.: That Mazda sticker on the side of the door is quite nice. Why not reach out to any local Mazda dealerships and see if they can throw ya any help? Your car could make the news easy man. I'll even help reach out to local Chicago media stations for ya if you'd like.
@Leathley nah not Corona but If I did I'd also get Lyme disease. Cuz you always gotta have Corona and lime. Lmao. I'm feeling much better now. It was just the flu. Thamiflu helped massively.
To OP, we have all been begging Gingium to use more safety measures for years. He's not trying to hear it. We are all secretly expecting a "today I lost a finger" video any day now.
Definitely really good preventative maintenance to cut out all that rust. Wouldn't want all your hard work to crumble to dust. I say this every video now but it's coming together so wonderfully, I guess it's all out or bust.
Needs to learn the ways of Fluid Film for complete prevention - pop a couple holes in the doors, body panels and just let loose. Rust won't form if it can't touch the steel.
I gotta say you are really getting professional with these builds man. I‘ve been here since you hotglued wires together 🤯 really nice to see the improvement man!
This is by far the most owner-involved build on RU-vid. Even Rob Dahm needed lots of help on his 4 rotor. So proud of where you came. I remember when you were making Forza videos at 15k subs and engine swapping a Renault 5 Turbo for a drag build. Now you’re doing Forza in real life. So proud of you man.
So proud of how hard your working at this. I remember watching your forza videos and I never thought that you would be this far. Keep up the amazing work man!!! Your inspiring a lot of people!!
Cody anoymous fr I’m blown away by his progress I remember when it first became a car channel and I was like ok cool. Then I got excited for the fab work on the drift truck and how he seemed like he knew what he was doing even though it was his first major fab work and now he his this crazy contraption he built all by himself
February 16th 2017 is the first video on the rally monster. Been watching the build from the start with that paco 3” lift think wow. This could be so cool. Now it is again. Miata is awesome the answer indeed lol. Personally I love my 2002 BMW Z3 M roadster but over he years the Miatas have grown on me but I’m just too big for them. The Z3 is tight fit since 2003 I have been hitting my head on bumps and knees in the dash I’m tall.. and a big framed too. Thank you for following through with this. You had to do so much to get to this point. Got gluing wires to custom tube frames with custom wiring done right’er
That transition at 13:48 was sick! Also, I don't know who thought expanding foam was a good idea in the fenders, but that's a great way to trap moisture.
That old hood scoop is a part of history to me. Original build inspired me. It deserves to ride historic on the fury road. I'd love to showcase it on my mad max car.
damn, this build is on another level compared to the previous ones! I just hope that u wont change the style how u build your cars, I mean, I like how ur builds dont end in 1 week and after it they're perfect and have only the best parts, the reason why u are my favourite channel is that u build your cars for very long time, its a long process and its something very special to you, u put a lot of heart and effort into your builds, thats why u are 100x better than some bigger youtubers. I feel like ur channel is kinda going into that direction, still im enjoying ur content even more than before! :D
I'll always build my cars in little steps (to a certain extent). Even when this car is done there will be all sorts of upgrades we'll do throughout the next season :)
Fabbium going ham man!! The Miata build is coming along sick dude I can't believe how far you have come from little gingium making car build videos on Forza! Keep up dude your my favorite cartuber hand down !!
Stock subaru hood scoops have a diverter in the middle so that on higher speeds the front of the intercooler also gets fresh air instead of all going to the back. Also those stock subaru (street) wheels looks so much better then the offroading ones!
Hey man, today I saw Grind hard plumbing co. (not actually a plumbing channel, lol) is looking for other RU-vidrs to collaborate with on a build. Couldn't think of a better person. Would love to see what your creative minds could come up with together. Love both your channels and work. Keep it up man, always quality content here👍
You could have gotten some pink (or blue) insulation foam from the Homer, shaped the foam to whatever shape you wish, then make a fiberglass hood scoop... Easy to attach, easy to shape. Just a thought for the future! Keep the vids coming!
Bro, you’ve come a LONG way. I honestly haven’t seen every single one of your videos, but it’s so amazing to see you blowing up and getting big! Keep doing you. Have a great weekend!
You can definitely salvage those front fenders, just needs bit more welding and grinding. Good thing you removed the rust under the rear fenders, because if that part gets rotten then the whole car is scrap. My car is -07 model so it won´t rot, but there is couple of scratches at the rear bumper, because apparently the previous owner could not reverse it even with the parking sensor.
I have only three things to say: 1) As always, you should rename this car the Mazda-ru. 2) When you go to paint, you should either do the blue and black scheme to match Molly (and also wrap the truck the same), OR you should paint it Subaru racing blue with gold wheels. Either way, HOT. 3) I love your channel, it's the only one I have alerts turned on for. Keep it up!
Bodywork tip, next time, instead of adding material to the back where the door met the panel, slice the panel until a point where you feel the piece can bend and look right, then add the slice on the inside. You'll have all the lines look (as they are factory) and yet they meet properly at their panel gaps.
Idk if anyone commented this already but you might want to drill a couple of holes on the bottom of the panels to let water drain (kind of like what they do with doors from the factory) might help in keeping them from rusting, specially considering you'll be mud running the car
I love your videos, so I started making my own car videos. Thank you for the inspiration! I got into making some basic daily vlogs about my Jeep. I tried to do it everyday. I just don’t know where to get the inspiration and motivation to be able to upload everyday.
Love what you're doing with it. I have to say I was concerned at first but it looks like it's gonna come out awesome. Been watching you since you got Molly and it is inspiring and impressive what you've managed to accomplish
I was a little worried you were just going to fill the gap between the door and fender and leave the goofy body line. Glad you worked around it and it looks rad.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels on RU-vid. You have really separated yourself from the other car channels with how much you actually do on your own cars and showing real skill. Unlike the hack job like Bisforbuild....
Hey Caleb! Just an idea: It might be worth your time to make some moulds of your custom front fenders! That way if they ever get wrecked for whatever reason you can have an exact replica made from fiberglass or even CF!
Dude love the progress and your progress from watching you over the years is incredible just how far you've come absolutely love the build and all the other projects of course and finally seeing that old black rusty Mazda become what you invisioned all those years ago is crazy congrats on the been the first ever awd Subaru powered mx5/ miata love from the UK. P.S. I still low-key loved the first iteration of the rallymiata with the huge scoop and green paint was amazing
Damn dude! You never cease to amaze me every part of this build! To think you were just doing video game playthroughs and now you're doing a boxer AWD Miata build! You've grown so much! PS, I would love to see you doing more video game videos like the old days if you want a bit of a breather from the project!
Caleb - Any plans to take the car to SEMA?? I'm sure it'd be well-received there. Also, as others have said, big round of applause for how you've progressed in your fab skillz. I still remember when you were working out of your parents garage and look at how far you've come! Awesome job!
Bro caleb, just watched an old vid where you went to meet with the 600hp guy, can't wait until my parts come in to do mine, but anyway, wheres molly's new heart brotha absolutely cant wait for that vid brotha, keep up the great work, ON THE WAY TO 500K!!💯💯🎉🎊🔥🔥
Just my .02c for the times you tend to take this rock crawling, mudding etc. You're not driving very fast therefore not moving a lot of air. Mishimoto and Spal both make oil cooler sized fans you could mount on the back side of the intercooler, so you wont have a totally heat soaked intercooler on your slower days.
I assume you know you are now missing the end off the sill panels that go behind the rear quarter panels. Still good to see you learning and doing this kind of work.
I was hoping you would cut diagonally to the corner or on a piece of the front fenders which didn't require the back edge to be messed with to keep the perfect OEM gapping with the door. Even with that said I think it'll still turn out great when all said and done.
