This video made the phases really easy to comprehend and it helped breaking it down into three and step by step going into the detail of each. Great video.
Breaking down the phases really helped me understand this lesson! Also, as a visual learner i appreciate the break down of each phase with details underneath each phase.
I like how you broke it down by cephalic, gastric, and intestinal phase then went onto talk about what each phase did and what was going on. It made it a lot more simple to grasp.
There’s a lot going on during digestion, so this video really helped me differentiate the different phases that occur. Now I understand much better what is involved in each phase. I like how you also included the relation to the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems.
Thank you for breaking down the phases of digestion into simpler terms. This video is going to help when I have to recall what occurs in each of the different phases.
watching you write the three phases and also what happens during each of them while also hearing the information really helps me retain the information more than just listening
The breakdown for each part of digestion really helped to understand the process. Learned a lot from this video regarding the connection between the nervous system and digestive system.
Didn't know when there is a hormone that helps me get ready for food which signals I need more acid. Really like this video of how it breaks down digestions and every steps that happens once you chew your food. Super informative and detailed.
Thank you for taking time out of your mega-busy life, to explain these to us. I will be able to remember this information, with your visual and clear explanation of the 3 phases. It was a bit overwhelming prior to watching this video. So I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
I like how this video takes the complex concept of digestion and breaks it up into three phases that are easy to remember: cephalic, gastric, and intestinal.
This video breaks down the digestive system phases in a very clear and organized manner. I appreciated the culturally sensitive examples of various foods! How thoughtful! - Alyssa Buchanan BIO 327 Fall 2019
Divisions of each phase and listing which nerves are used was helpful. Thanks for explaining the hormones functions and what diseases it might lead to.
Everything was very concise and to the point in this video which I liked a lot. there wasn't a lot going on on the board and everything you were saying was easily laid out and there for us to see which made it easy for me to clearly understand and follow.
I did not fully understand this at first in class since it had a lot of components, but since this was broken down into 3 different parts, it was very easy to comprehend and remember since everything flowed well!
Before watching this video I didn't really understand the intestinal phase since we didn't really talk about it in class. This video really helped me learn more about this phase and how it releases CCK and secretin to stimulate other components of the digestive system. This video gave me a better understand of the different phases of digestion!
From your previous video, you mentioned the cephalic and gastric phases but did not go into further detail of what they are but I'm glad you made this video to do so. Now I can further understand the relationship of this phases to HCl production.
Material was concise and to the point. The conclusion was well done and connects the digestive system to the nervous system: a perfect lead to another subject of discussion.
Since the digestive system has so many parts, it was hard for me to understand until this video. I liked going through each phase and listening to the explanations.
Easy and straightforward! I like how the information are written in a bullet form. Learned more about the function of CCK and secretin such as their contribution in bile production! I didn't quite understand what they both inhibit. Is it the acid production in the stomach?
I love how you breakdown the different phases in every video it really helps in understanding the subjects a lot better! -MEDA115 Fall 2021 Jessica Ramirez
This was a very solid video explaining the different phases of digestion. Before, when we talked about it briefly in class it didn't make much sense, but now the different phases and the regions they correspond to all make sense. Do both CCK and Secretin work to inhibit peristalsis? And if so, where do they go to inhibit that mechanism?
This was helpful but i thought in the notes you had said that the parotid salivary gland was innervated and stimulated by the glossopharyngeal nerve and that the submandibular and sublingual were innervated by the facial nerve?
During the lecture in class, I was slightly confused on the different phases. After the video, I have a more clear understanding of what each phases was and what happened in each one
Straight and to the point but there is a lot of information being said, maybe diagrams or drawings could help with understanding this process better for the visual learners.
Bio 327- There was a lot of information said and it was easy to follow, but it would have been easier to follow if there were some diagrams and maybe use different colors for the different phases.
