Hi there, thanks for your detailed sharing, it’s really helpful❤I have a question though, universities in North America could accept direct PhD from undergrad, but I’m not sure if ETH could do the same? I have asked some people from UZH and EPFL and they said those universities could offer a fast-track program which allows undergrad to directly be enrolled into PhD program, I’m wondering if ETH could make such exceptions?

Hi, yes I think that is only possible through a specific programs that then last longer. You might be able to check with the professors you want to work with. Most of the times, masters is required.

Im doing a PhD in France. You can find Swiss PhD salaries online, it is public information. Minimum is around 3k something swiss francs after tax

Very helpful, thank you! What would you think if the professor offers you to work as a research assistant for a couple of months so that he can check if you fit for the PhD program? I'm not sure if I should accept it because they could just use you as an unpaid worker.

@@beststudenttips We didn't talk about a salary yet. You did it at PSL in Paris? And your salary was such that your living expenses are paid, let's say about 1500€?

Thanks a lot for this informative video! I saw in the website that for PhD application, contact details of 3 referees is required. If possible, could you please let me know if there is any alternative to this as I don't have 3 referees. Would my application be still considered without Letter of references/recommendations? If they ask for 3, they need 3. You can contact them if your case is so specific and they make an exception, but I would rather search for 3 people.

It's not necessary, but you should explain what you are interested in doing. it's good to have a proposal prepared though, because they might ask you for one
