What are the chances of getting a position there ? Do you apply like a job ? And what are the odds of getting in for a moderately qualified person. Also make a comment on what we hear as the astronomical cost of living ? How is language barrier, the many official languages in Switzerland

WHAT FOR? I am unemployed 5 years after my PhD in LAW in Switzerland - I am the author of 8 books, more than 1200 citations, 4 degrees, fluent in 4 languages, a lot of connections and I am unemployed person! I applied for 2200 positions without any success.

It depends on your specific situation. But PhDs are mostly paid in Switzerland.

Like partner? I guess yes, but I think that has more to do with applying to visa rather than ETH. I don't know the answer to this, you should check with the immigration office or with your employer.
