@@bc5023 How cool! Grew up listening to him... from my mom weirdly enough (because of the stuff she mainly listened to)...grew up listening to Seger, Mellencamp, Springsteen from my dad. 33 today and can't stand today's music. There's some ok stuff, but most of it, there's just not much behind the music and their words/lyrics especially. I will say though, I caught on to this Billy Raffoul from a video game I played...he's a lot different than most of the stuff today. Didn't mind Phillip Phillips, just haven't heard a bunch of his stuff lately. But, the people and stuff that gets radio play anymore.....geez!
LO ANTERIO ME LO IMAGINO EN VIÑA DEL MAR Y UN MOUSTRO FELIZ CON PHIL COLLINS CON TODAS LAS DE ORO Y PLATINO GRANDE PHIL COLLINS YO EN EL LICEO CON MI PERSONAL ESTERO ❤❤❤❤
LO MEJOR EN CHILE PHIL COLLINS EN ESE TIEMPO PHIL COLLINS EN VIÑA DEL MAR CON TODAS LA GAVITAS DE ORO PLATINO Y LA LLAVE DE LLAVE DE LA MUNI PARA Q VUELVA POR SIEMPRE Q RECUERDO 95 YO EN OCAVO BASICO YA CON TODOS SUS TEMAS EN UN PERSONAL STEREO ❤
That Daryl Stuermer is sure one underrated guitarist. Show the man the respect he rightfully deserves. He’s been in the music business for quite sometime.
I wasn’t their, but still listening as right now apologizing short brief air, don’t care and take me home I love those songs all of his is true or meaningful that reminds me of him keep rocking Phil (Kansas)
Everytime I hear this song it's always awesome what a voice n the guitar player is awesome,, the drummer hell the whole band has talent.,a song that'll never go away
I'll be all right by myself you see I don't care anymore 12/20/2020 Love this song it puts it right on the line We don't play the same games anyway ❤ Great performance Phil Collins❤👍👀love the lyrics in this song they helped me get out of a lot shit with a thing they called love but it was all about control to them..❤💃❤👏👏👏
What a contrast from this 1995 performance than the one from 1982 where he was screaming with anger throughout the whole song, considering his wife had left him not that much before then and he was PISSED OFF. This 1995 performance sees him sing through most of the lyrics. The grit and the venom is GONE.
It doesn't help that Phil was getting sick at this point too, he actually had to cancel one of the Chile concerts. His voice got quite worn out by the end of this show
A voz não é mais a mesma, mas o que ele fez durante toda a carreira marcou época, e isso é o que importa. Ele é o cara ! Philip David Charles Collins, forever !!
Such great drumming in that song. Shame that the only radio I ever hear it on is the one in a car I stole in Los Santos, and the guy who performs it can't drum anymore due to arthritis.
Thegrandman that's Ricky Lawson one of the late great session and touring drummers for artists like Phil, Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, and Steely Dan
G R A C I A S X H A B E R L O S U B I D O...LO ESTUVE ESPERANDO POR AÑOS....
Holy crap I was there in the first concert with my then girlfriend (later ex-wife). I remember Phil caught a case of "chilenitis" after then first Thursday concert (that is, a huge stomach disease because of drinking tap water) and the saturday concert a had lot of things cut off.
thank you God, i am still very confused qs to what or whom i am. i have never even held my Grandson and have a girl on the way, not from me ,from my daughter.eh,i bout to have a granddaughter.ehat is going on ?how do i help .they
This is about the time Phil lost the edge and sang everything in a wussed out tone. This song originally had a passion and edge that's completely lost in this performance. Unfortunately his penchant for "oversinging" only got worse after this point in time. I loved Phil's music growing up but I don't even know if i would cross the street for free to watch him now. I would give several hundred dollars to go back and be at the Perkin's Place show that occurred in 1982. Now that is EXACTLY how it's supposed to be done.
Incorrect impression. This was one of the most passionate songs and time of his life. If you knew anything about that, you would not have made that comment. True songwriters have stories behind the lyrics or are poets.
+Sam D What are you even talking about? As I stated, this is how the song is supposed to be song...what makes thr lyrics come alive. As time passed, especially from the early 90s on, Phil essentially quit singing with the edge on this, Tonight Tonight, Tonight etc. and replaced it with wussed out drivel. What I stated, as was clearly outlined, referenced future performances that diminished the tone and the feeling we see here.
The fact that the song was transposed a tone also makes it weaker, but remember it had been 13 years since the Perkin Palace show, his voice was not the same anymore and probably just couldn't do the song like he did back in 1982 and he tried to compensate that by "oversinging".
For me it's not even that. Having your voice change is one thing but the emotion and attitude that drives the vocal delivery is gone. It's almost sung like a ballad when it's supposed to be a song about frustration, anger, and giving up. Phil lost that edge somewhere along the way, whether it was a conscious or subconscious decision.
Well, this was played 13 years after the show at Perkins Palace. His voice was already darkening at this point and apart from that, during his visit to Chile, he got sick and had to cancel one of his three shows. The video here is from the second show in which he was already getting ill.
He actually wrote after catching his first wife Andrea, the mother of his 2 kids in bed with the painter. He actually walked in them having sex. His first and second LPs (Face Value and Hello, I Must Be Going!) with the exception of 2 songs (John Lennon's -"Tomorrow Never Knows" on Face Value and the Supremes "You Can't Hurry Love" on Hello, I Must Be Going) were about her.
@@RhiannaBarr Well, I won't go as far as saying the entire albums were about her. I mean, The Roof is Leaking has nothing to do with his relationship with her and if I remember correctly, This Must Be Love is about a relationship he started while writing Face Value, so he was actually dating someone else by the time he recorded those albums, but I suppose he was still very bitter about the whole thing even after some years.
