We take a walk through Cembo in search of Taho. We make a few friends like Ronald and his handsome uncles along the way and end up getting a chicken adobo breakfast, which receives a 9.2 out of 10 from me.

Ang Tagalog ng brother-in-law ay "bayaw". Ang sister-in-law ay "hipag". Meron pang isang salita "bilas" ay brother-in-law's wife or sister-in-law's husband. Ingat palagi. Patnubayan ka nawa ng Diyos.

I am pretty sure kurt that is what you will miss in the Philippines aside from food......the camarederie and the availability of people everywhere. In the US where every one is on his own and privacy is utmost priority, you can hardly see this culture. It is still seeable there but hardly like everywhere in the Philippines. Thanks for loving our country and our culture

Last November I was in the Philippines and was staying in Makati. One day I ended up at the Power Plant Mall and found a taho vendor in the lower food court level of the mall. They had a small stand in between the shops and they were selling taho. I did partake of one and it was very good. It brought back childhood memories for me. Don't know if it is still there but it was a welcome surprise to find one there.

My version of adobo is that i combine chicken & pork, i put lots and lots of garlic, quail eggs and McCormick crushed red pepper. Divine! Try to make one Kurt😊 Nextime try avocado with condensed milk or powdered milk(Nido brand) on top

How did you learn to speak tagalog? You have a taste buds for filipino food. I was born in Manila grew up there until high I hardly remember the street and neighborhood in Manila after being in states for 47 years.

Ang layo ng nilalakad mo T. Kurt.Baka ma heat stroke ka nyan. Mag suot ka ng cap o sumbrero, or mag payong ka😂I miss pinoy food. Here in the US, food is all the same, Burger King, McDonald's, cooked chicken in Walmart or Costco, a few Chinese food, that's it. Not like in the Philippines, there are so many choices. Nakaka sawa ang pagkain dito sa Amerika.

adobo with eggs/potatoes/onions/sugar is just a corruption of the original adobo. egg, potatoes are added to extend the portions so that more people can eat it. you are also eating the common adobo which is braised or stewed. try the tagalog version which is fried after being stewed/braised and you will find it much more flavorful and delicious. the caramelization makes a big difference.

Kuya Kurt! What is the difference between when you walk on the streets in the United States vs The Philippines. Is the people nice to you too? Is it different if a Filipino walk down a street in the United States?
@tagalogkurt
@tagalogkurt 3 месяца назад
Very different. In the US we don't have walkable cities other than the downtown areas of some big cities like NYC or Boston etc. but there's no neighborhoods it's just all business. In America if you go walking around most people avoid eye contact and don't interact with you the way filipinos do. It's just a different culture here kaya it's more fun in the Philippines ❤️🇵🇭
