I think most Phillies fans feel the same way. I hate Braves but it's a respectful kind of hate, you're the last team I wanted to face in the NLDS because your lineup is scary af. But this is gonna be a great series either way. I have a feeling that whoever wins this series is winning it all.

As a Phillies fan I think strider pitched very well. Our pitchers were even better luckily, but I definitely don't want to see him again this series.

well they wrapped up the division with too much time to spare and they had to sit for a week; the regular season is more meaningful than you think; i have no respect for teams like the phillies who take the first few months off trying to time their hot streak for October

Even Murphy knew his glove was hit by JT. You could hear the bat hit his glove just before the foul tip. And you could see wilson slam his mask like he knew what just happened and didn't even contest it with the ump. Right call made. And braves fans acted classless. And yes, crowd noise can affect opposing teams. That's why Strider is on record saying he doesn't enjoy the fans making noise

Nothing definitive about the replay, but the call and reactions were instant. As a former catcher, I knew it was CI because of the way Murphy recoiled the glove back to his chest. It's a natural reaction to someone hitting your glove, you can't stop yourself.

Once upon a time the Phillies had Hamels, Lee, and Halladay. All of which could and did go the distance. They're not that team anymore but they've got a skipper playing chess with the bullpen and getting results.

The Wild Card rewards mediocre teams. The Phillies shouldn't even be in the playoffs. They need to have it like the era up to 1993 where only two National League teams and two American League teams made the playoffs, for the NLCS and ALCS. It's a bit unfair to the best teams because baseball is not a sport like basketball where the mediocre teams can ever really beat a dominant team. Any team has a chance on a given day. The worst team can beat the best team. There is a lot more parity because it is contingent on the pitcher, one player more than anything. If you have a bad pitching performance, it loses it for the team. This is unlike basketball or ice hockey, and even football to an extent where one player's performance is usually not the determining factor of a dominant team losing, unless he is injured or taken out of the game. As such, given this greater parity, they need to go back to the top two teams. Now, we do have the issue of three divisions, but I think only the top two teams by record should make the NLCS and ALCS and the others go home. This is a huge injustice year after year having Wild Card teams make it to the World Series because the really good teams get cold with their "first round bye". It gives an advantage to mediocre teams who can get hot and stay hot because they continue playing and don't take a week off like the better teams that get the bye, only to ice themselves by lack of play.
