This is kind of a fun live video because it's safe to say that two thirds of the audience are on hallucinagens. That being said they probably had a little too much fun with the lights, and I bet some people were losing it.
I live in st.cloud,fl now but I'm Bethlehem ,NY which is not far from Sarasota where spac is. I used to to go see phish every time they were in town. I love them they put on the best live concerts that I can think of.
I can't watch any video from this NYE run without eventually ending up watching Steam/DWD gag. I started my 1/1/11 at MSG with Phish and ended the year there with them. Life is good, and I enjoy myself!
I have not checked out the rest of this new years run, but I would be shocked if I found another setlist that even comes close to this one. The setlist is smoking, and they sound amazing, I cant even imagine how bad ass this show must have been live, and yes this YEM is straight fire.
Excellent video and audio!! Bravo for the pan out on the expectant light show. Phish can do it right. Especially like Trey pointing to the audience on the trampoline.
You children are leaving out Yes, and Emerson Lake, and Palmer. These guys are good, but those two blow them out of the water. The singing is very weak.
it's definitely not clean but it's still amazing to see live. It's been 10 yrs since my last Phish show. I can't wait to get back to the states. I'll be at XXXth.
Anyone else here after finally saying "Oh all right!" to Stich of StichMethod Guitar? (Thanks, Stich. One of the best mistakes I've made in a long time.)
it's like, nintendo video games + organs + ice cream + rainbows + green mountains + clear rivers + blue skies + a big moose. they sound something like that. yeah.
I never seen a show in person either, I just bought a lot of those live phish sets on CD. But on those probably 1 of these tracks or 2. Per 3 days of show.
@colinmccrann Thanks Colin, it was eating at me since that night. Now I can finally sleep at night ;) I'd only heard the song a few times and I didn't know who it was. I appreciate the help.
Was standing next to somebody when this started and he jumped up and yelled "My first YEM!" - made this one pretty sweet to see how nuts this guy was going.
The art of Jammin is so lost today. I love that Phish is keeping it alive in their unique way. Bring back Cream and The Yardbirds as well - can anyone make that happen?
I've always considered this the absolute moment we realize that the things we all do in the Phish Bowl, are simply an amplified version of what's always available. Wash your feet. And see what's next.
Robert Hunter wrote the lyrics to Garcia's songs, not the music. Garcia composed all of the music, it was a collaboration between a lyricist and a musician.
