I was at this show. It was my 88th Phish show. I hadn't been to a show since 1998 because the scene had changed so drastically. Plus the music wasn't doing it for me anymore. I went backstage after the show with a friend for the afterparty and up walked Mike. We have mutual friends so we got to talking about music. Somehow in my drunken state I decided to say to Mike that it's a good thing Phish is breaking up. He asked why and I proceeded to tell him that they're nowhere near as good as they used to be. Yup. Those words came out of my mouth
Great time. And the Tom Marshall and Amphibian played late night at BB Kings in Times Square after this show. I remember a good version of Meat being played.
phish really knew how to creative during a show and make it something incredible. did they ever break out snoop dogg for gin and juice back in the day?
Not a bad capture. No annoying crowd noise, but there is the trademark annoying crowd hand gestures and shaky camera, but what do you expect? Sound is good and this goes down as one of the most unexpected collaborations of all time. Jay-Z can come out during any band he wants in Brooklyn, play 99 Problems, and the crowd will go similarly apeshit.
i was there too. it was unexpected, but still fun. i think trey was at a loss for words and wasn't sure how to compliment him, so he said musician. this is a good memory. i remember after trey joked about eric clapton coming on stage..
Phish never covered Gin and Juice. It was an alternative country band called "The Gourds." That is the version you are probably referring to -- the one that was on Napster and was real popular about 7 years ago but was labeled wrong.

this makes me sad. how can trey call a rapper a great musician? they arent musicians, they are talkers, if i was at a concert like a phish concert expecting good music and this guy came on stage i would be very dissapointed. Is it me or does page look akward/embarassed?
