From our visit at thé PHO3NIX SUB 7 powered by Zwift course check earlier this year. 6 days to go #Sub7 #Triathlon #ironman distance Made by Mana Studio x Orbital studio
It’s amazing to me how you could easily walk by any professional triathlete on the street and have no idea what an amazing athlete they are. They are so unassuming! Truly incredible.
It also shows the issue of the sport - not enough TV coverage means not enough public fame and interest resulting in low salaries for most professionals.
Kristian has accomplished all triathlon records. Olympic gold medallist, long course world champion and fastest IM course at Cozumel. Big Blu is one of a kind athlete in his generation.
The paces is just insane. If you add up all the records in the disciplines it reaches about a 7:12. So it just goes to show you how much of a difficult task this is. Good luck on Sunday I know you’ll crush it
I guess finally some triathles are making decent money! Well deserved it!!!!!!..........Americans are still sleeping in golfing, baseball or nascar! some in the NRA! Congrats to the Europeans for all the contribution to the sport!
I want to be no.1 or we can say the best in triathlon. so where can I join ? Can I join your club? I’m 18. Please help I’m stuck idk what to do and I’m from Indian.
Blu whats the relationship like between you and Ali? we know he is a bit of a douche and not friendly to many of his competitors like Frodeno. Is it similar with you now that you are the king of tri?
Its only pointless is you dont understand its a special project. Jans was much more pointless than this because it was a special closed course, optimized for a record. Its a shady record that ends up in a greyzone with the race record. The sub7 is just a special event that noone will compare to the race record and destroy any future attempts at it.
I think it’s a great way to try to engage with wider audience, spicing things up and with science and development of equipment we can lift the sport one step further for normal racing.
"sub 7" is a joke. Kipchoge didn't do his sub 2 on an alter g. The bike paceline / draft kills any notoriety in this sub 7 effort regarding time, especially because you are not actually far from a sub 7 unaided. Any time is completely meaningless here. Kipchoge had basically no draft for his sub 2, even though they pretended he did, with their arrowhead formation. Speeds are way too slow running. This "sub 7" = Kipchoge doing a "sub 90 min." on an alter g at 60% body weight. If you want to steal the sub 2 idea and have it MATCH sub 2's status, your bike pacers need to ride at 8-12 meters in front of you, so you have the SAME RELATIVE draft benefit that Kipchoge had for his sub 2. Otherwise this is a circus show, clickbait, empty publicity stunt.
Who said anything about Kipchoge? This is a completely different experiment. Actually, that's all the sub-2 and sub-7 projects have in common. They are both experiments.
Actual if you do the maths the difference between the current fastest Ironman and sub7 is about 5% whereas the difference between the marathon wr and sub 2 is about 1.25% so sub7 is aiming to take more off the time relatively speaking. Also it’s not exactly like sub2 wasn’t a publicity stunt for nike, ineos etc. this is sport, it’s entertainment, it’s fun to see people do cool things same way it’s fun to see iron man fight captain America on the screen.
@@rossbroomfield453 The correct math is to figure out how much drag was saved by running Nike's triangle formation for Kipchoge then apply that same benefit to the bike to calculate Blu's drafting distance. Blu could not be anywhere near the wheel of his pacers. If Blu is right on these wheels, in true pace lane fashion, the benefit is so much greater than Kipchoge's. Drag coefficients are magnitudes higher. Also, calculate the swim draft as well then set that correct distance. The effort and format of sub 7 is fun but only as a pr stunt for sponsors. The time is completely irrelevant compared to Sub 2, as you noted. To bridge the larger 5% gap, Blu gets to essentially ride behind a school bus for 3:45. Kipchoge's sub 2 has meaning. He was unaided from wind resistance, as speeds are too slow to benefit. Kipchoge was aided psychologically for sure. That's it. Kipchoge still ran a sub 2 at the end of the day. Blu will not have done a sub 7 at the end of his day.
@rookiehookie Congrats, that wasn't coherent at all. If you don't like technical comparisons of pr stunts, stay offline. You are not ready for the world, Karen.
@@ptf55 Running a sub 2 is actually running a sub 2. It wasn't downhill or on an alter g. Kipchoge running a downhill marathon with 2000 meters of elevation loss then calling it sub 2 is what this sub 7 effort is equivalent to. The bike draft benefit is so massive it turns the time relevance into a useless joke. Sub 2 was MUCH closer to reality than sub 7. The sub 2 course was flat.
