Amazing plugin and so glad it's free (and glad I found this video)! I needed it in a pinch - and weirdly I'm happy it includes the ability to send a downgraded quality to my phone - might seem unusual but in my case I'm working on some sound design for a client which they are using on a hotline. They sent me a test number and it's pretty lo-fi, but unfortunately not practical to keep testing the hotline itself for every adjustment in the mix. Being able to downgrade the quality enables me to more closely make adjustments based on what it will (sadly) sound like in the real world. Super helpful as well for prepping mixes which will be viewed on social media etc. Cheers!
It is and can be very useful. There are alternative options but they are usually subscription based and cost a fair bit. This seems like a great all round option for testing and collaboration 👍
id like to record my clients through this on my studio one daw. how do i route this so my clients can hear the track but i can record their vocals in my session? any advise would be helpful.
Great question and it's not something I've tested as I look at it from the Mixing and Mastering standpoint. That being said the Benjaneer RU-vid channel does a great review on how to use it for this purpose here:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H4LA-DoF5Tw.html
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I've just tested the plugin again and I can't reproduce any errors or connection issues. Are you trying to connect whilst on the same wifi network or do you get the error message when collaborating with others?
I'd also take a look at this link under the heading 'If you cannot connect' as there may be something that needs to be looked at with your router www.sonobus.net/sonobus_userguide.html#Connecting-with-Other-Participants
you're correct, but theres so much more. real(ish) time collaboration, time saved waiting on renders, easy speaker tests outside/away from the studio/computer. Say you have your studio downstairs but some nice speakers like upstairs or in your car. Now you don't need to wait to render plus theres no external factors messing with the audio like file compression or anything. idk makes sense to me. the one oversight I see, and its a big one; is that we cant start playback from the app. thats becoming annoying LOL
