Thanks for the video once again. I'm new to lighting and strobes. Just a few thoughts 7 minutes in - 1. Is "concentrate" the proper choice of wording for what a grid does? I thought the only thing a grid would do is block (i.e. restrict the spread of) light (and absorb a bit). Concentrate typically means to make something stronger, more dense or more focused (which, of course is what a lens does - or a mind). Just asking. 2. In the first 7 minutes you lay out a lot of concepts and ideas - and I know this video ended up being long - but for those of us at the beginning of our journey with light - some quick examples as you go through would have been nice. 3. One last thought - again, for those of us beginning our education with lighting - it would have been nice to: a) first see a shot with ungridded lighting, b) see the effect of the grid with a second shot, and c) lastly, see the effects of one light at a time, then all of them together. You raised an interesting thought about 14 minutes in about getting the same effect on the background without the grid by zooming the speedlight - again, nice thought and a demonstration of alternatives or the benefit of why using a grid is preferred would have been interesting. Loved the intro. Thanks for trying to help us learn.
Thanks for your comments and suggestions. Sometimes the words we use are not perfect but I hope that most people know what I mean by "concentrate." Also, finding the right words whilst in front of the camera is not always easy. You are right in saying that a more extensive explanation and more examples would benefit new photographers but the length of the video would be unmanageable. I could split it up into multiple videos but I already have well over a hundred video ideas for the future and I have limited time on this earth to get them done. I appreciate your feedback and I will take your ideas on board for the future. Thank you.

I love your videos and have tried some of your techniques and fine them a little challenging. But I am sure that in time I will get close to the results you show. Please keep them coming and thank you for all the work you put into you videos.
