After 40 years in the photography game, I still get excited at the prospect of shooting new images. I love this business and want to pass on my knowledge to you. I have tried most things in photography and know what works and what doesn't work. I know the myths and misconceptions that are spread about photography. I also know the facts and truths that will make you into a great photographer.
Portrait photography was my first love and still is. The infinite possibilities that shooting people offers means that I am always exploring new techniques and processes to create unique and powerful images.
Come along with me and I will teach you how to create amazing images and enjoy a life of photography.
Love how you go through poses. They are so simple yet diverse. How you direct makes it easy to replicate and learn what you're teaching. Fantastic video.
From how you were talking in the beginning I was thinking you were going to be doing super strict don't move unless I tell you to posing but that was not the case at all, Glad I kept watching. Good stuff!
I am going to show this to a very beautiful Lady who wants to become a Model just so she can see how easy you make it look , love it because it is straightforward and no mumbo jumbo.
Hi Warren, thanks for the vid. Just wondering how big the space is you are working in there and what distance you are away from Paige and what focal length lens??? I have a very tight space, like 4x4m, so use for mainly headshots, but I would like to do more shoots with clients full length like this if I can. I know it would be a squeeze, but could prob do with just a 50mm even, in some cases.
Hi Scott. Thanks for your comment. My space is a converted garage. It's about 5 meters by 5 meters. Do you have a door that you could shoot through? That would extend your shooting distance. A 50mm on a crop sensor camera is ideal for full length shots. A 50mm on a full frame is not ideal but if you keep your camera back parallel to your subject it should be ok and you won't need as much shooting distance.
I like the whit top with the twisted shoulder straps. I enjoyed the phots sitting on the stool very much. In very first moment used that black tube or pole as a prob would be a silly idea. However these phoots turned out very nice. I like your calm way of presenting. You are publishing very valuable videos for any beginner and even any advanded photographer. I am very happy that I discoverd your channel.
Nice balance of direction and natural movement. She would take your cues and move with them. It is so nice to work with an experienced models like this, they know how to take your direction and improv from there. Well done, appreciate you posting this, good stuff.
One thing I hate...is when the model looks at someone that came with her or someone else...Like this girl did a lot. But I guess you have to learn to deal with it sometimes...Thanks for sharing. Great video...looking forward to more. Peace
@@newcastlephotographycollege Oh don't get me wrong...she did do a good job for sure but she kept looking back at something and smiled...it was just in one part of the video...very annoying if you ask me. No problem though...I was just saying. Thanks for the reply...I am looking forward to the next video...Peace
There are many forms posing ? Some candid & other types is what the photographer likes. The personally I don't want to be another Simon says. To a model .I would like a model with imagination if that's possible?
This video has so much going for it: great locations, lighting, model, orange dress, steam jets, and your no-nonsense presentation style. Probably your assistant was also commendable.
I expose my white background to exactly 254 in the histogram on Capture 1 safely to 99% pure white , 1 point over would be 255 (absolute limit). At “ 256” that’s when the white starts clipping.
This the second time I have viewed this excellent Video, Your Images are amazing, Truth is I needed to view more than once to really appreciate your work. Your Model is truly a very beautiful Young Lady. Along with watching & enjoying your images, I learn a lot to help me enjoy my hobby. Thank You Sir.
There are only a handful of people who I follow on RU-vid and I must say you are the at the top. #1! I only wish I started years ago and found your channel. It and you are the best. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.
Very impressed with this video, IMHO the best on youtube. I tend to use the majority of your tips, except I use the Manfrotto Halo Compact reflector with the White and Scrim skin, not the 5 in 1. Its very light, can usually be managed without an assistant hand held or used on a light pole utilising the built in ¼ thread. Folds to very small package to fit in your pocket or camera bag. The only drawback is it takes a few minutes to set up and then dismantle but it's well worth the effort. Looking forward to your next reflector video. Michael in Newcastle UK.
Sorry. Literally 30 seconds after posting comment, it popped up on screen. Either that, or you’re a genius. Read my comment , edited video, and reposted in less than a minute. 😂😂. Thanks friend.
