Welcome to my off-roading YT phase! Let me know if you have any questions about the color grading process below and I'll be sure to incorporate it into the next video.
So many cool shots and seems like a very creative process. Thanks for sharing 🎉 At work I often end up extracting frames and use for web or sometimes even print. But it’s always a plan B, never thought about using it with intention. Will have to think about that.
Fairly new here. Just getting back into it after nearly a decade off from shooting. You have very compelling style and the complete opposite from my type of shooting and yet find you extremely inspirational. Keep up the great work. Thank you.
Very fun video! Loved seeing the BTS. Cannot wait for PT2... I think making it all come together feels daunting, from someone with just some cameras and some ideas. Getting to a finished product seems like visiting a foreign land (maybe this red/pink and blue land)! Thanks!
This was a fun one! Love seeing people experiment. I knew Alex years ago when she was working on some of her first photography projects and it’s so cool to see how it’s evolved over the years. Also can’t help but feel the ‘Psycho’ vibes from the shower scene in this video!
This is exciting to see you at your most creative! I am looking forward to more of your "off-roading YT phase" as you put it. It's fun to stretch and try new things, and isn't this why we love photography and other creative endeavors?! :) Brava!
Brilliant, inspiring project - and really evocative results. The narrative threads in these images feel really strong. As someone has already commented, there is a definite Cindy Sherman vibe. Bring on the OMTC Movie!
Very cool! I’ve been thinking a lot about how to make stills cinematic… I don’t think I would do self portrait but the emotions and props and what’s happening help a lot to tell a story, I love that you did all this cheap and fast so with a small team in a few locations or surrounding one with a bit of abstract lighting few special FX maybe that’s possible too.
For me, there's a bit of a throwback to posting on Flickr back in the day. A combination of blocking, props layout, time of day, and directing involved. The limitation for me back then was the SD card size and software (picasa!) so there's a whole process of planning and preparation. Aside: as a 1-person shoot team, I wonder if you could use an app as a wireless controller and viewer for the camera. Or cold-shoe mount an iPhone and remote view the framing via the Camera app on an Apple Watch.
Very much a Flickr throw back! I did a lot of this in my early Flickr days. And yes, I totally failed to think of using my phone because the app isn't the best but definitely worth doing next time.
Yes definitely! Funny because I do that with my other camera but I was in such a hurry that I didn't try here, but that is definitely the ideal solution.
