BILLIE-- Very interesting subject- filter use in Sports photography! In 57 yrs never used any filters, but after watching your video, I will use my CPL on a American Legion game tomorrow! Thanks so much for sharing some of your inside sports photography! Randy Bocksnick(Montana)
Breakthrough Photography for my CPL and 6 stop ND. K&N 10 stop filter(circular) and 10 stop square filter. Kase magnetic CPL filter with the K9 filter kit and Lee mist filters. Filters are an essential part to any area of photography.
I never leave home without my UV filter. I don't know if I ever take it off from my 24-70mm. I'd love to get my hands on a Polarizing filter, or one of the special effects ones for more creative photography for sure.
I came upon your channell recently because i started going to my son's basketball games and photographing his game and want to know more about sports photography. Please make a video about some wider angles and by that i'm thinking about taking photos by the basket. What kind of lens would you suggest? Sorry for bad grammar..English is not my native language..
Depending on what you want the outcome of your image to look like I’d recommend either a CPL or a 6 or 10 stop ND filter. Stacking a CPL with an ND filter is also another option. Keep in mind that a CPL by itself will drop your aperture down I believe a stop and a half.
Hey! I have a few questions, I shoot photos and videos for a small ski resort, in the summer which it is currently that means mountain biking. The resort is open during 10am-4pm, it's also North Facing(most ski resorts are) so this means harsh lighting the light is almost always behind my subject, except on various turns. I use an Urth ND2-400(1-8.6 stops) variable ND filter so I can shoot aperture 4-5.6 range with my Sony a6600 18-105 f/4. However I seem to having issues getting sharp images of the face pace movement. I'm shooting at 1/1000 or 1/1250, should I be swapping to a Polarizer, or no filter at all when taking photos versus videos? Should I try my 50m 1.8? of course I'd love to upgrade to something full frame with a 70-200...but that's not in the bugdet currently. Thanks for taking the time to answer.
Do you use filters when you shoot sports? I’m an amateur with a Nikon 5600 and Nikon 55-300 4.5-5.6. Would nd or polarize help me shoot better pictures at kids sports?
