We have very similar experiences. Thanks for sharing your story! I am with you about detesting that organization - confessing to a roomful of men is a perversion in of itself! Love hearing these stories. I’m a Christian. I speak to JW weekly in hopes that they will repent in turn to the true and living God. I noticed that they’re so indoctrinated that its hard to get to them by showing contradictions in the NWT bible. My hopes is to hear more stories like these, and get to know Ex-JW and more about the organization itself. This experience of evangelizing to this specific cult has been eye opening and Im just praying that God allows me to have compassion on them as i try to show them the lies that they’re apart of. Brainwashing is a real thing. I have encountered some interested things speaking with JW. I’ll make sure to keep this channel, the guest and all of you in prayer as you heal from the issues being apart of this cult has caused. Jesus is still real and I’m sorry if this cult have put any type of barrier between you and him.

HELLO! good interview Lady C... I used to be a fatherless boy cause my father was unbeliever. Now as a parent of three kids and after have awaken in 2018, i became in an ex jw. So, now i´m in the same place than my father was. I miss so much him, and i regret the fact that i didn´t spend time with him instead have been wasting my time with "spiritual family". people that gave me the back now. Sadly i did´nt have the chance to choose, that's what taught me in the cult since my childhood. By the way, i miss "the elder JT" Love from Mexico

I've moved twice and once you are not there, eventually you fall off their radar. Time helps. Be strong, focusing on what you want your life to look like, helps too. Best wishes!

@Ava2969ny I was born in. 1970 to 2018. Many reasons: too numerous to tell. Primarily, I was not taken seriously when issues were happening in my marriage. Somehow, I received the counsel, on top of the abusive relationship. Everything was my fault: I was told, if I was more submissive, my husband would come to the meetings, field service, etc, but I'm the one who did all the required things with the children. He was a baptized person who should have taken the lead...over two decades of this treatment. Not one ounce of counsel was given to him. It's such a long, lonely, story. It happened several years ago, I'm glad it's all behind me. I feel everyone has their own personal reasons, and they're all valid.

Awesome interview Lady C. I remember the video where J.T. mentioned his first Judicial Meeting that he was appointed to participate in. When Phylice mentioned a preference about whether to fade or disassociate, I did think about fading but the problem is (maybe it's just some Elders where I go to ) is trying to fade, will get my phone rung off the hook like if a debt collector is calling. Part of the reason I'm projecting in 2024 of turning in my letter after I visit my parents later this year to let them know what's going on. My dad would probably respect my decision (he wouldn't shun) but my mother is so intrenched she'll call 911 in form of the elders. She's too stubborn even with everything in PA that's going on with all this CSA and how the Tower is handling it. I guess some people will never change (or at least see reason).

I have a question. How do you all (Ex-JW) deal with the teachings in regards to the NWT Bible and every other translation out there after leaving the organization. Do you still hold fast to the biblical theology that they teach or when you leave the organization you re-examine the scriptures as well. I’d love to have this conversation with anyone interested.

That’s a good observation. Ive been up and down and back and forth with the Bible since leaving the cult. I couldn’t stand to read any of it for a while, then I met someone who was a lover of the scriptures and he gave me a fresh perspective. At least I could read it without JWs interpretation in my head. Nowadays I prefer to read motivational, positive , relative and more modern writings. But if something in the scriptures applies to me and my life, I take it in. What about you?
